The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day-Chapter 623: In Dire Peril
In the room.
Summer Monroe had just finished washing up and was ready to rest when the door was suddenly knocked on.
She thought Stella Monroe was coming to cause trouble again, so she impatiently opened the door, only to see Leah Lowell standing there.
"Leah?" Summer quickly glanced around and, seeing no one, immediately pulled Leah into the room.
After closing the door, Summer spoke, "Why did you come over? Did anyone see you?"
Leah shook her head and said, "I checked, no one saw me come over."
As she spoke, she handed over a bag of traditional medicine she was holding, saying, "This is the medicine Mrs. Monroe asked me to brew for her, but she insists only I handle it. I think there’s something suspicious, so I brought it over for you to take a look."
Summer held it up to her nose to smell it. The scent matched the residue she had taken from the psychiatric hospital.
"Got it." Summer handed the medicine back to Leah, saying, "Go brew the medicine for her. Be careful not to contact me privately; use your phone to reach me, to avoid raising Stella’s suspicions. You’re the undercover agent I placed by her side; you must not be discovered by her."
Leah nodded slightly, saying, "I was reckless. I’ll leave now. Oh, and this too."
Leah said this while pulling a necklace out of her pocket, "Mrs. Monroe gave this to me."
Summer glanced at it, recognizing it as a full diamond necklace from Bvlgari, worth nearly a hundred thousand.
She chuckled, playing with the necklace in her hand, and said, "I didn’t expect Stella Monroe to become so generous in order to win people over. You should sell it, there’s a lot of money needed for the child’s treatment, schooling, tutoring, and such."
"No, no." Leah hurriedly refused, saying, "I’ve already taken quite a bit of money from you, how can I take from Stella Monroe as well? You’re so young, and given the situation now, you need money more than I do."
Summer directly stuffed the necklace back into Leah’s pocket, smiling lightly, "Don’t worry, I’m wealthier than you imagine. Sell the necklace and enjoy the happiness of having double the money."
"..."
Leah didn’t know how to respond to that. The young lady really... has a way with words.
A young girl, even if she’s capable, how wealthy could she be?
But of course Leah kept these thoughts to herself; she knew the young lady was a good person and was determined to repay her kindness. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Leah didn’t linger long and soon went downstairs to brew the medicine.
Meanwhile.
First Ross Hospital.
Anyone who could afford treatment at First Ross Hospital was either wealthy or influential, so it wasn’t as crowded as other hospitals.
When Henry Stanton arrived at the hospital, two nurses immediately approached and asked, "Which department?"
"Emergency!" Henry said anxiously, "My mom said she can’t breathe. She fainted once on the way here and has just woken up; she’s still in the car. Please bring a stretcher."
On hearing this, one nurse ran to get a stretcher while the other notified the emergency doctor.
When the elderly lady was placed on the stretcher, her breathing was shallow, and her condition was dire.
The doctor examined her while asking Henry Stanton, "How did this happen? What caused it?"
"My mom just fell. The housekeeper said it was a minor fall, and initially, everything seemed fine. It’s been nearly an hour since the discomfort started."
"I understand, please go make the payment first, and we’ll take the elderly lady for examination."
The doctors and nurses got busy, and Henry Stanton could not help but first go to make the payment.
He was puzzled. He thought it was just a fall without major issues, but suddenly things turned out like this?
