The Billionaire's Contracted Wife [English]-Chapter 58: Meeting The In-Laws_5
Chapter 58: Meeting The In-Laws_5
The sharp Pak! of the slap reverberated through the room, causing everyone to freeze for a moment.
The General Manager’s aggression stunned the Night Manager, rubbing the back of his neck where the blow had landed. His face showed shock and fear, but he didn’t dare retaliate.
Tanaga’s eyes narrowed at the sight. He was not the kind of man to tolerate such behavior, especially from someone in a leadership position.
The butler, standing nearby, stiffened but said nothing, awaiting Tanaga’s reaction.
"Enough!" Tanaga’s voice cut through the tension like a blade, calm yet authoritative. The General Manager, startled by the sudden command, turned toward him, realizing only now that Tanaga had witnessed the entire exchange.
"CEO Jones... I—" the General Manager began, his earlier bravado wavering under Tanaga’s stern gaze.
"Apologize," Tanaga said flatly, his expression cold. His tone left no room for argument.
The General Manager blinked in disbelief. "Sir, I—" freewebnσvel.cøm
"I said apologize," Tanaga repeated, his voice dangerously low. "You don’t treat your employees like that. It’s unacceptable."
The room fell silent again as the General Manager’s face reddened with embarrassment and frustration.
He glanced at the Night Manager, who was still standing awkwardly, unsure how to react.
Reluctantly, the General Manager muttered, "I’m sorry," but the words lacked sincerity.
Tanaga wasn’t impressed. "You hit him before witnesses, so your apology should reflect that you mean it."
The General Manager swallowed hard, clearly unnerved by the situation he found himself in.
With no other choice, he looked at the Night Manager and spoke louder this time. "I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that."
Still in shock, the Night Manager nodded slightly, not daring to say anything.
Tanaga’s gaze remained on the General Manager for a moment longer before he turned to the butler.
"Make sure he gets something to sober up. And take care of the Night Manager’s duties for now."
"Yes, sir," the butler responded promptly, understanding the command.
The G.M. understood he had just made a crucial error and that his position meant nothing if he could not control himself.
Approaching the G.M., the butler said, "Son of a bitch!"
But Tanaga halted him, and he moved stealthily to the rear of the G.M. Positioned in the rear of the G.M., he silently tapped the man’s shoulder. The General Manager threw away his hand.
"Who’s the devil who had the guts to touch me?" The G.M. yelled.
"Pak! Pak!" Tanaga gave the General Manager a pair of smacks on the head while he looked at him like a demon.
What was only missing was for him to grow a pair of horns, and he could already be called a devil because he looked fiercely at the General Manager.
"Sir, CEO Jones, Why?" asked the GM while G.M. was scanning his head from the painful smack he had received from Tanaga.
Instead of answering him, Tanaga walked towards the General Manager’s chair and sat down.
Although his face had relaxed slightly, he was still not saying anything. He just sat there staring at the General Manager while the GM was in a cold sweat.
Tanaga breathed deeply first and then asked the General Manager to come closer. The G.M. approached him and stood before the table, waiting for Tanaga to speak.
He was already ready to be reprimanded and fired because he knew Tanaga’s temperament, so he forestalled him.
"Sir, Jones, please forgive me! I know that I made a mistake by coming here while Drunk. But boss, it’s already beyond my office hours, and it just so happens that I was at a party when my stupid Night Manager called me. I was not able to go home anymore to change and drink something to make me sober."
The General Manager had the gall to make excuses and call his Night Manager stupid.
What he didn’t know was that was not the reason Tanaga got the ad. He was angry because he hurt his employees, which was a big mistake on his part.
Finally, Tanaga spoke without even blinking..."If I were you, I’d go home and sleep to sober up. Then, tomorrow, come here early and go to H.R. and pick up your last pay. Do you understand what I am saying? Or do you want me to repeat myself?"
When the General Manager could not answer, the butler decided to call the security guards, who he asked to escort the G.M. out of the hotel.
The G.M. was willing to do anything but comply and follow quietly because he knew nothing good could come out if he would argue back while he was still drunk.
When the G.M. left, Tanaga faced the Night Manager, who was quietly standing on the side, shaking in fear.
Tanaga looked at the Night Manager’s name tag to determine his name before speaking: "Jose Mendez, I only have one question...Did your ex-boss do the right thing to you?"
Jose was surprised by what Tanaga said, ’Ex-boss? Did I hear it right? That asshole is not my boss any re? Ha aha! Serves him right. He thought he was untouchable because he was the G.M. Don’G.M.er make a mistake of showing up in front of me, or else I’ll have him beaten up.’ Jose was thinking.
He did not notice that Tanaga was observing him.
"Sorry, sir! He did not do the right thing a while ago. No one should be maltreated like that. Be that as it may, we cannot do anything about it because we might lose our job if we complain."
"Hmmm, what do you mean.... Is that the way the upper management runs the business here?" Tanaga asked gently and was genuinely interested in Jose’s answer.
"Yes, sir!" answered Jose while looking at his feet, unable to look at Tanaga.
"Understand! Alright, return to your duty and leave us here."
Jose quickly bowed and said thank you before leaving the General Manager’s office.
As soon as he left, only Jose Mendes could breathe properly while doing the sign of the cross.
He thanked the Lord for answering his prayers for so long that the cruel General Manager be removed from his job....
