A faint, almost imperceptible tenderness flickered in Qi Longbing’s eyes, but it vanished as quickly as a shooting star, too fleeting to grasp.

"Are you pleading with me, Miss Hua?" Qi Longbing lifted his head until he saw her exquisitely delicate small face. Although her face was taut with tension, he could still clearly see the stubbornness in her eyes!

His gaze remained fixed on her face, as if trying to peer into her heart through her eyes. A soft-spoken sentence rippled between them, "You’re pressing on my hand, and it’s hurting."

Only then did Hua Xiaomo realize what she was doing. She quickly released his hand. "I’m sorry." Her face alternated between pale and flushed.

Suddenly, KNOCK, KNOCK.

The knocking sound interrupted the two of them in the room. A murderous glint flashed in Qi Longbing’s eyes. Fortunately, the knocking ceased.

「Meanwhile, outside the director’s office, an unexpected commotion occurred.」

Long Shangxuan, who had been about to knock again, was approached by a nurse. "Mr. Long, Director Zhang is waiting for you in the administrative office," she said quickly.

Long Shangxuan looked at her, puzzled. "Director Zhang isn’t inside?"

The nurse just smiled and repeated what she had said.

Without giving it much more thought, Long Shangxuan quickly headed towards the administrative office. As he glanced back, his eyes met those of an unfamiliar man in a corner, whose face was stern and exceptionally cold and disdainful. Him? A dark glint flickered in the depths of Long Shangxuan’s eyes. He glanced at the tightly shut door, said nothing, and quickly departed.

After Long Shangxuan had gone, Yu Bao emerged from the corner. He had clearly intended for the other man to see him. The implication was obvious: to make the other party clearly understand when to advance and when to retreat. "’Good thing that fellow isn’t completely stupid," Yu Bao scoffed coldly.
