The Billionaire's New Wife in Chief-Chapter 941 - 342: So Small, Dark, and Wrinkly—So Ugly
What Assistant Chen did not expect was that the birth would happen so quickly, a week ahead of the due date.
However, he also noticed that recently Song Qiao seemed quite downcast. Sometimes, although she appeared to be smiling, it gave the impression of a forced smile. Assistant Chen had dated a girlfriend himself, but it was the first time he’d encountered something like childbirth. He even called his girlfriend to ask about this kind of thing, almost getting misunderstood as cheating, which was definitely an unwarranted accusation.
The aunt had also chosen to stay during this period since Song Qiao was about to give birth, fearing that Assistant Chen might not handle things well on his own.
When Assistant Chen came out, the aunt happened to come out of the bathroom. Upon seeing Assistant Chen, she was taken aback for a moment and then asked, "Mr. Chen, you’re still awake?"
The aunt had woken up and gone to the bathroom, and given that her hearing wasn’t as sharp as that of Assistant Chen, she hadn’t heard any sounds from Song Qiao’s room and didn’t know that Song Qiao was close to giving birth.
Seeing Aunt Chen, Assistant Chen suddenly felt as if he realized something, belatedly realizing that barging in directly as a man might not be appropriate.
Furrowing his brows, Assistant Chen thought for a moment and then said, "I just heard sounds coming from Miss Song’s room, could you go in and check what’s going on?"
The aunt, upon hearing this, sensed something was amiss. With hands still wet, she wiped them on her pajamas and quickly walked to Song Qiao’s door, knocking and calling tentatively, "Miss Song..."
Just after speaking, she could faintly hear intermittent, very quiet sounds from inside, but they weren’t very clear.
The aunt couldn’t be bothered anymore and immediately opened the door. Seeing Song Qiao on the bed, her face twisted with pain from pre-labor contractions, she was shocked, rushed over, and said anxiously, "Miss Song... you... you’re about to give birth."
Assistant Chen, outside, saw this as well and hurriedly called the hospital. Fortunately, their neighborhood was not far from the hospital, one of the reasons why Chu Munan had chosen it was in case of an emergency.
After the call, Assistant Chen entered the room and asked the aunt, "Is there anything I need to do now?"
The aunt was initially a bit flustered but quickly calmed down, having had a few children of her own, she had a lot of experience. Hearing Assistant Chen’s question, she thought for a while and said, "We certainly can’t go to the hospital ourselves now. Miss Song’s water has broken, and a professional obstetrician is needed..."
More importantly, Song Qiao was carrying two, not one, moving haphazardly could easily cause issues, not to mention Assistant Chen couldn’t carry her.
The ambulance arrived quickly, and when Song Qiao was taken to the hospital, she was nearly fainting from pain, but she knew she couldn’t pass out, or she wouldn’t be able to deliver the babies.
Chu Munan was at a cruise party when he received Assistant Chen’s call that Song Qiao was going into labor; the cruise had already sailed more than ten kilometers away from the shore, with the horizon in all directions and no land in sight.
After hanging up, he immediately had a yacht prepared and left, even forgetting to say anything to the cruise party organizer. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

In the early hours, past five, Song Qiao gave birth to twins, both she and the babies were in excellent health.
Perhaps her energy was completely spent during labor, hearing the cry of the second baby girl, Song Qiao fell into a deep sleep.
Chu Munan took a flight lasting more than ten hours to reach Paris, and as soon as he landed, he rushed to the hospital, where Assistant Chen informed him that Song Qiao had given birth to twins safely.
Arriving at the ward, Chu Munan found the aunt and a nurse Assistant Chen had hired feeding the babies. Upon seeing him enter, the aunt stood up with a baby, noting his furrowed brows and the worry in his eyes as he looked at the still-sleeping Song Qiao, she quickly explained, "Mr. Chu, Miss Song has used up her strength giving birth and is now deeply asleep. She will wake up after she’s rested, you don’t need to worry."
Initially, the aunt thought Chu Munan and Song Qiao were married. Later, Song Qiao explained that they were actually very good friends, more like siblings.
Foreigners are generally more open, especially in a laid-back place like Paris, not burdened by the concerns typical in China, so the aunt understood quickly.
Though she could tell that Mr. Chu seemed to really like Miss Song, it wasn’t her place to meddle in matters of their feelings.
Chu Munan responded with a hum, taking a deep look at the sleeping Song Qiao before his gaze shifted to the baby in the aunt’s arms. When he saw the dark, small, and wrinkly baby, his brow furrowed deeper, a look of disdain spreading across his face.
He even began to doubt in his heart if they had brought the wrong child.
Song Qiao and Lu Jingchen both have such high looks, how could the children they had be... so ugly?
The nurse had initially been amazed at how handsome Chu Munan was, but seeing his disdainful look at the baby, she couldn’t help but chuckle. Without waiting for the aunt to speak, she began to explain, "Sir, babies look dark, small, and wrinkly when they’re just born, but they gradually change. With good nutrition, they’ll be plump and fair by the time of their one-month celebration."
With that, the nurse stood up and walked to Chu Munan with the baby, asking tentatively, "Sir, would you like to hold the baby?"
Chu Munan paused, glanced at the small bundle, and instinctively asked, "Is this the baby girl?"
The nurse hesitated, "This is the baby boy..."
Upon hearing this, Chu Munan immediately shifted his gaze to the baby in the aunt’s arms.
Though he said nothing, the aunt understood his intention right away, hurriedly bringing the child over to Chu Munan, "Sir, the baby is very fragile just after being born, just don’t hold too stiffly, like this..."
