Chapter 208: WHAT ABOUT HER?

This Chapter is dedicated to Bdubz_G. Hi Bdubz_G, thanks for the golden ticket.

"We’ll sign a deal. Once it’s done, the money will be yours. You’ll be free to claim your daughter and enjoy a life of wealth."

Bodhi leaned back, arms crossed. "And what about Frank’s real daughter?" Everything Elisa had said was too good to be true, he had no idea why he couldn’t trust this woman no matter what.

Elisa’s expression didn’t waver.

"What about her?" she asked, her tone dismissive. To her, Harlow was nothing more than an obstacle, one that could be dealt with at any time.

Bodhi frowned. "She’s alive. She’s his true heir. And most importantly, she’s married to Alanis Hamilton. Do you really think that man will let us cheat his wife?"

Elisa went quiet for a moment, considering his words. Bodhi was right. Even if they managed to kill Frank, Alanis would never allow them to tamper with his will. No one would believe Frank had really disowned his daughter

"Then we’ll have to eliminate him too," she said coldly. She didn’t care if her daughter was obsessed with the man. But she hated him, and if he was a threat to her, then she would have to eliminate him.

Before Bodhi could respond, a maid stepped into the room.

"Sir Bodhi, it’s time for your nap," she announced politely.

Elisa ignored her, eyes locked on Bodhi. "So, do you agree to the plan?"

Bodhi sighed, shaking his head. "Your plans are... messy and all over the place," he said bluntly. "You want to kill Frank, but that’s just the beginning. There are too many loose ends. If you don’t have a solid strategy, this will all fall apart before it even starts."

Elisa’s jaw tightened. She hated being questioned. But deep down, she knew he wasn’t wrong.

"You said yourself that Frank knows you have been poisoning him, why the hell do you think he would not know we’re planning something?" Bodhi smiled.

"You have lost his trust, he knows you’re hiding something already, and telling me to poison him?" Bodhi waved his hands and the maid standing there moved forward.

"I’d rather accept our first deal, which is warming my bed, to buy my silence." Bodhi was smarter than he looked. He knew games like this all too well. After working so hard to be the scapegoat, he would be eliminated.

Elisa and Claudia would push the blame on him, and accuse him of killing Frank. He was too smart to be a spawn in their games.

"I’m not warming your bed. You can have as many maids in the mansion as you want. They’re all willing to satisfy your needs." Elisa announced and started walking away.

"But that is not what I requested for," Bodhi said with a smile.

"Don’t push it Bodhi, I’ll make you regret it if you say a word about us." At that, she started walking away.

When Bodhi arrived in the dining room, he was greeted by smiling Frank and frowning Elisa who didn’t even spare him a glance. She despised this man so much and would do anything to get rid of him, but she needed to be cautious with whatever she was doing.

"It’s been so long my dear, friend, how have you been?" Frank asked sipping his wine, while the maids placed different dishes on his plate.

"I thought you would never speak to me again, judging where we left off," Bodhi said calmly. But Frank smiled at his words.

"You overthink things too much my dear friend," Frank said.

"It’s clear life hasn’t been fair with you." Bodhi frowned. How could he forget, due to Frank’s anger, that he had contributed to the demise of his empire? Frank had stolen everything he owned before, leaving him with nothing but his shadow.

Maybe he was wrong for not accepting Elisa’s deal, maybe he should have taken the role just to get his revenge on the man.

"You don’t have to rub it in like that." Bodhi smiled and Frank nodded.

"Earlier you spoke about my wife holding your daughter. Who could that be?" Elisa’s heart skipped at the sudden question. She had no idea Frank would take Bodhi’s words seriously. She turned to Bodhi immediately, her eyes watching the man closely.

Though Elisa said nothing, but her silence was enough threat. Bodhi smiled.

"It was all lies dear, I haven’t seen Bodhi in years, why will I have his daughter?" Elisa laughed it off but her words weren’t convincing enough. Frank’s green eyes watched the two of them closely.

According to his butler, this wasn’t the first time Bodhi was visiting, and the last time he did, he had entered Claudia’s room.

"Is that so?" Frank asked with wide who forced a smile. Elisa could feel her cheeks burning already. She couldn’t fake her smile for long.

"Well... Let’s hear from my friend, shall we? I know he cannot lie to me else, I’ll skin him alive." He threatened smoothly watching the man. Frank could be a cheerful man, but when messed with, can be deadly.

Elisa’s gaze shifted to Bodhi, and as the man was about to speak she said, "I can’t believe you would take the words of a stranger over mine." She spat irritably.

"A stranger?" Frank asked. "Bodhi is an ex-friend, he is not a stranger to us. Besides, wasn’t he the one that helped you into my bed?" He asked.

"I thought we moved passed that?" Elisa asked, her anger palpable.

"We did, but I need an explanation of what I heard dear wife. And I would appreciate it if you stop interrupting me." He said calmly.

"Don’t take anything I said to heart Frank, I was under the influence of Alcohol and didn’t know what I was saying." He said calmly.

Frank looked between Elisa and Bodhi, still not able to believe a word from the man’s lips, but he let it slide. He didn’t have the time or energy to argue. He has asked his butler to keep an eye on these two for now.

"As an old friend, I didn’t like the state you were in and take full responsibility for it. So, I would love to help you with some money." Frank started failing to see the man’s face lit up. Bodhi was attracted to money, he would do anything for money.

"How much are we talking about?" Frank asked. "if you’re taking responsibility, you need to take full responsibility, Frank." Bodhi said with a smile. He was more than eager to accept the money.

Elisa sighed, this is all she would have offered to make him accept her deal. It’s not too late though, she could still do it.

After dinner, Elisa walked to her room, she had refused to speak to Frank after his little stunt earlier, and to her surprise, Frank didn’t mind at all. He didn’t even speak to her or act like they had issues.

While Elisa and Frank quarreled, over at the Hamilton’s estate, Harlow read through the last pages of her script and wasn’t impressed at all. Nighttime was the only time she had to complete the script after Alanis’s endless requests during the day.

"I have to give her a sad ending like in my previous life," Harlow muttered to herself as she corrected the necessary play on the script. Alanis and Harlow were never lovers, them being lovers was only her imagination.

If she wanted to make a story about them, then she needed to make it real. The world needed to know the truth about her past life.

She nodded at her thought. How sweet would it be if the whole world criticized Alanis? Even if he wasn’t here to see it, this is one of her revenge on him.

"What are you doing?" Alanis turned to his wife, his dark eyes bright as he read what was on the screen.

"I didn’t kill my child. Why would I do that."

"You have no right to read it, it’s not officially done." Harlow scolded closing the laptop.

"Says who?" Alanis asked picking interest in whatever he had just read. He had been wanting to know the real cause of his wife’s death in the past, but couldn’t.

All he knew was that his family had killed Harlow and now he knew Claudia had been the one to kill his son.

"As your other half, I think I have a right to know what it is you’re writing." He said with a smile. "Don’t forget the saying that goes, two heads are better than one." He shrugged.

"Like I said, I’m not done yet, and you’re not permitted to see it," Harlow said. She had no idea why this man wanted to be involved in her life so badly.

"Come on my villain, you have nothing to hide, plus I promise not to change anything already written there."
