Elisa smirked as Claudia tilted her head, throwing a stylish glance at Harlow.
"Says who?" Claudia asked, her voice dripping with pride. She had no intention of letting her father favor Harlow again. Anything Harlow thought she had, Claudia would take it.
"Wow, and just now, your father was being ungrateful," Elisa scoffed, shooting Frank a look of disapproval.
Frank chuckled awkwardly. Maybe, just maybe, he had underestimated his first daughter. Claudia might actually be onto something this time.
"I’m sorry for that," Frank admitted. "I was only thinking about the company."
Elisa huffed. "Then you should know our daughter is here. Claudia will never let the company crumble."
Harlow sighed, uninterested. "I’m done here." She pushed back her chair and stood up. There was no point in sticking around, she would much rather watch them fall when the time came.
"Harlow," Frank called just as she reached the door. She turned, meeting his gaze. "You can still come work for us. You’re still a part of the family." He spoke like he was giving her a one final chance for someone that seemed so desperate before.
Harlow smiled at his words.
Family?
She thought she was an outcast alread
"No, thank you, Father. I’m quite fine as the CEO of Hamilton Corp," she said smoothly earning glares from the mother and daughter dou seated from across her. "And please, do try not to steal any more of my designs when you run out of ideas, like before."
Elisa’s face darkened. "You think too highly of yourself, Harlow. Don’t forget we made you. We can crush you anytime."
"You should be grateful for everything Father has done for you," Claudia chimed in. "How can you turn your back on the family now?"
"Claudia, don’t waste your breath," Elisa interjected, waving dismissively. "Some people will never understand what it means to be successful in business. You can stick to your silly scriptwriting and being a glorified CEO, and Claudia will handle the company perfectly."
Claudia smirked. "And don’t come running back when our business is bigger and better, because we won’t accept you."
Harlow’s expression remained unreadable. "I’ll see to that. And you, don’t come crying when your business crumbles,.because I’ll be far away."
With that, she turned and started walking away.
"Father, promise me that if we win the competition next week, I’ll be the new CEO of Blackwood’s diamond..." How stepped out without hearing the remaining part of that conversation. It was none of her business.
Claudia had registered their diamond company for the auction and competition.
Harlow smiled. Perfect.
She couldn’t wait to see the look on their faces when they realized exactly who the Diamond Queen was.
She wasn’t just someone they could step on anymore.
They had no idea what was coming.

Harlow’s heels clicked against the marble floor as she stepped into the living room, but Alanis was nowhere to be seen.
She sighed. Did he get bored and leave? That would honestly be the best thing.
But just as she was about to turn away, a maid approached her hurriedly.
"Miss Harlow, Master Hamilton has asked that you don’t leave without him."
Harlow’s brow furrowed. **So, he didn’t leave?
She frowned. This man was really something else.
"Where is he?" she asked.
"In your bedroom, miss." The maid bowed before walking away.
Harlow blinked. In her room?
Her lips pressed into a thin line as she made her way upstairs. That wasn’t even her real room anymore, Claudia had taken everything that once belonged to her after she left.
What could Alanis possibly want in there?
When she opened the door, she stopped.
Alanis was lying on the bed, arms folded behind his head, legs sprawled apart, sleeping peacefully. His chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm.
Harlow scoffed. This man insisted on coming with her, only to sleep in her bedroom? With her favorite novel in his arms.
She walked closer, about to wake him, but her hand froze midair.
She stared at him.
It was the first time she had seen him this quiet. This peaceful fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Never in her life did she think she would get a second chance with him.
Back then, Alanis never loved her, not until her death. She died clinging to her one sided love for him.
Her chest tightened at the memory. He reminded her so much of Alex... her little Alex.
She used to run her fingers through Alex’s hair whenever he fell asleep, it was always so soft.
Would Alanis’ hair feel the same?
Before she could stop herself, she reached out, her fingers sliding gently into his thick, soft hair.
"Do I remind you of a prince charming?"
Harlow’s breath hitched. Hand frozen on the air like a kid caught in an act.
Alanis’ dark eyes were open, staring straight into her green ones. She pulled her hand back immediately.
"If you’re awake, let’s go."
Alanis sat up slowly, his hands reaching for her waist. Before she could react, he pulled her forward until she stood between his parted legs.
Her hands instinctively landed on his shoulders to keep her balance.
"You never answered my question my Villain. Are you in love with me already?" His voice was calm, but something in his tone made her heart hammer against her chest.
Why was she reacting this way? She couldn’t possibly be falling for this man again, could she?
She pulled back, putting distance between them. Alanis was getting too close. She didn’t know how to feel about him.
Did she really hate him? Or... not?
This Alanis is different from the one in her past. Was it fair to punish him for things he hadn’t even done?
"You’re not in a dream Alanis, wake up let’s go." She said coldly.
"I love it here." Alanis suddenly said.
"This is not our Villa, Alanis," She said, "It’s my father’s mansion. And he has no idea you’re here."
Alanis shrugged. "Then we can tell him we want to stay the night. He’s your father, Harlow. He’ll agree."
Harlow scoffed. "You’re joking, right? There’s no way I’m doing that."
"Then let’s stay a little longer."
