"I know what you all are doing. You’re trying to harass a pregnant woman." Debra frowned at the accusations. They have been playing nice with this thief, it was time she took matters into her own hands.

"We haven’t even done anything to you, Madam Claudia," Gus said stunned at the accusations.

"Haven’t done anything?" Claudia scoffed. "You have disrespected my character. You have accused me, Claudia Blackwood of theft. I will never let you all go scot-free. Especially you." Claudia pointed at Debra. The girl has just become the most disliked person on the planet just next to Harlow.

"I don’t care about your threats Mrs Claudia. If we are wrong after all of these, then I will gladly resign and stop working here, but I’ll never let you put me into trouble with the boss." She said.

"Who’s your boss, Harlow?" Claudia laughed. This people were scared of her silly sister? The same Harlow she will be stealing this company from soon?

"You should be more afraid of me and what I might do and not Harlow. I can end your life with a click of my fingers." Claudia threatened but Debra wasn’t at all moved by a girl who was locked up in prison for a whole week by her father.

She wasn’t moved by a thief.

"Oh, I’m touched." Debra snatched Claudia’s phone from her hands and turned it on.

"Hey, what are you doing, give me back my phone," Claudia screamed but was stopped by Gus and the other employee who had joined them. Stanley. They knew they would all be in trouble in not just Harlow’s hands but Alanis’s too if any money went missing.

"Please just let us check for evidence, madam. If you’re not found guilty we will take full responsibility for accusing you wrongly." Gus said but Claudia didn’t look like she was pleased by their words.

She struggled against the man, "Give me back my phone, you have no right to search my phone." Claudia struggled and when she couldn’t break free from Gus’s hold she leaned down and bit him.

"Ahhh," Gus screamed but she didn’t let her go. The pain of but was better than the punishment he would go through in the hands of Harlow and Alanis when they found out 300 million of the company’s funds had been missing.

Where the hell is he going to get that from?

Claudia’s teeth dug deeper into his flesh and she didn’t let him go, till she had tasted blood in her mouth.

"I’m warning you!" She yelled. "Let me g!"

"Ah ha." Debra immediately said.

"I thought you said you had more than 300 million in your account miss Claudia?" Debra asked.

"This is her recent proof of payment, it seems she had diverted the money paid to her personal account." Debra showed Gus and the other man the proof in Claudia’s phone and her body turned instantly weak.

She has been caught and there was no getting out of it, but Claudia refused to give up. She will never let these people win against her, never.

"Hah, you call that proof. Where does it say that I took any money? You all are just accusing me." Claudia screamed.

"There are two bank statements in here Mrs thief. The successful transaction statement and the balance statement. It is also clearly stated who sent the money to you. It’s from Elinko groups, the people that had purchased those items this afternoon." Debra said.

"Oh miss accusing me, you’re going to jail after sending the money back to the company’s account," Debra said.

Claudia shook her head, this couldn’t be happening. She’ll die if she doesn’t send the money to the loan sharks today. She had already promised them today.

"No no no, you don’t understand." Her voice was low as if pleading. She was scared, scared of what those men would do to her and her child. Those people aren’t humans, they are monsters. Wicked monsters, this couldn’t possibly be her fate.

She cannot end up like this...

"They’re going to kill me if I don’t pay back. I have a huge debt to pay..."

"I thought you said you had more than 300 million in your account?" Debra asked.

"I... I don’t have such an amount." Claudia confessed, her eyes wet with tears. This couldn’t be her end. "Please just let me have the money, I need to pay off the debt I owe please." The arrogant Claudia was long gone and was now being replaced by a beggar. It was almost comical that Claudia, the one who paraded herself in all of Halkhalls like she was the owner could be this humble.

"If you owe money, you should never resort to stealing, especially since your sister is our boss. You can always ask her for assistance." Debra said.

"But wait, you already said you were more superior." Debra laughed and then continued.

"I knew you were a thief, like mother like daughter." Claudia’s face twisted with humiliation and rage.

Stanley turned to Gus. "I’ll report the theft to her bank and have the funds refunded."

Gus sighed, shaking his head. "We would’ve liked to help you, Claudia, but according to company policy, we can’t."

Gone was the respectful Madam Claudia. Now, she was just Claudia. And if she hadn’t bitten him, maybe, just maybe, he would have shown a shred of mercy.

"Debra, call security."

Debra didn’t hesitate. She picked up the office phone and dialed. "Bat, bring your men. We have a thief in the Accounts Payable department."

"No! You can’t do this to me!" Claudia shrieked.

She thrashed, kicking and clawing, but it was useless.

"It’s my right to take money from the company! I’m a Hamilton! You can’t question me!"

Within minutes, a towering man entered with his team. His sharp eyes locked onto Claudia, and he smirked.

"What’s the situation?" he asked.

"She’s been caught stealing from the company," Gus said. "You know what to do."

Bat chuckled. "I don’t even need my men for this." He took a step toward Claudia.

Fear gripped her chest. She knew she was no match for him, but she fought anyway.

"Don’t touch me! You don’t understand, they’re after me! Those men will kill me! I didn’t mean to..."

Her screams fell on deaf ears as Bat effortlessly overpowered her.

Why wasn’t anyone listening to her?

Bat dragged her down to the reception area. Employees gasped, some whispering, others raising their phones to record the spectacle.

Soon the news about Claudia stealing from Hamilton Corp circulated around the entire city of halkhalls.
