"You said the same thing last week and the other. Do you take me as your fool?" His deep voice roared.

"H... Help me, somebody!" Claudia screamed immediately hoping that the police officers at the gate would at least help her but no one came to her rescue. They all just stared at her and pulled their gaze at the same time.

"You think anyone would save you?" Ron laughed as he stared at the girl flashing his gold teeth before her eyes.

"You came to me for help and I showed you kindness. But now it seems my kindness had turned into foolishness." Claudia shook her head at his words.

"How dare you call the cops on me." He grabbed her chin immediately, his fingers digging deep into her chin.

"P... Please, my baby. I... I promise to pay you back please don’t hurt me." She pleaded, tears falling from her eyes as she stared at him.

"You’re given just a week to pay back. If you don’t, I’ll skin you alive. And let me warn you, your precious child, will not survive it." He said and finally let her go.

Ron started walking towards his car, when suddenly he turned to her, his eyes holding something mischievous as he advanced towards her and in the next second, a heavy punch landed on her swollen belly.

The sharp pain reverberated through her entire being as Claudia screamed and cried at once. She clutched on her stomach and fell to the floor.

"This is a little of the pain that bastard would go through if you don’t give me my money. You’re married to the Hamiltons now, aren’t you? You have no excuse, sweetheart. After one week, I’ll be back to take what’s mine." He started walking away, leaving the woman on the floor with blood spilling from her private area.

Claudia lay still on the floor, she had fainted and woken up to faint again. She tried to reach her cell phone but it was far from her.

"Help me please." She cried out, but there was no one there to help her.

The police station was located on the outskirts of the city. It was situated far from any residents in Halkhalls. Even if she were to call anyone, would they be here before she loses her child?

Claudia crawled on the floor to reach for her phone, her hands were on her stomach. "Just wait a little baby, daddy will come save us." She cried out.

After a little struggle, her hands finally reached her phone. She dialed George’s number and luckily the call went through.

"Hello."

"George I’ve been attacked around the prison. My baby... Our baby." She cried out and hung up immediately.

George who was about to leave the Villa hurried into his car and drove out. In no time he arrived at the police station to see his wife laid on the floor with blood all over.

"Claudia." He called staring squatting to her level.

"George, our baby." Without another word, George lifted Claudia from the floor she laid and placed her into his car. He gave her car keys to his chauffeur while he drove her to the hospital himself.

He had no idea what Claudia has been up to lately but he is worried for her and his child.

When they arrived at the hospital, Claudia rushed into the emergency room and after an hour, the doctor stepped out.

"What happened to your wife Mr Hamilton?" He asked as they headed to his office.

"I have no idea. She called saying she had been attacked just right before the police station and then I saw this." George confessed. He had no idea what idiot had hurt his wife but he had promised to catch them.

"The thing is, you almost lost both your wife and child today. Maybe if you hadn’t brought her in here when you did, I doubt your child would have survived." The doctor said.

"What did they do to her."

"That person attempted to harm the child. They punched her stomach hard."

"How dare you try to kill your own child Claudia? How dare you try to harm my grandchild?" Garth who had just heard the news from George rushed to the hospital to see things for herself.

It has taken Claudia one little mistake to turn into an evil person in Garth’s eyes. Just yesterday her mother-in-law encouraged her to take over the company. Garth had been extremely supportive and loving and right now, she had become a huge problem in her life.

If she had the power, she would have strangled this old fool with her bare hands. She couldn’t believe this was all Harlow had to put up with in the past and even now.

But what Claudia wasn’t aware of was that Harlow had gone through more. She had suffered from the day she was born, to her death day.

"Mother, don’t say that. You know she was attacked." Lia said frowning at her mother’s words.

"Well, if she had kept her sorry ass at home and not tried to visit her thief of a mother, my grandchild would not be harmed." Garth stared as she eyed the girl. She used to love Claudia just before the stealing incident.

To Garth, Claudia is a heartless daughter-in-law who wants them to go bankrupt because her mother lost everything.

"Shut up Lia. I can see through every game she’s playing. If you ran back to the prison because you think your mother can save you, then you better get ready, because no one is coming to save you." Garth stated. freewebnøvel.coɱ

"That’s enough mother. Claudia was attacked by bandits, she didn’t plan to harm your grandchild. And the baby is okay." George stepped in.

"When next you want to visit your mother, at least go with someone," George said calmly.

Lia was looking for the perfect opportunity to be alone with Claudia. She had a huge problem and believed only Claudia could help her with it. After all, she’s the one that had gotten her into this mess.
