Brenda was the last person Harlow had expected to see when she reached the lounge. She had thought that maybe their neighbors were finally warming up to them, but she never expected to see Brenda.

She wondered what this woman was doing here. She hated the way she stared at Alanis like he was some meal she wanted to eat. No one has the right to stare at him that way except her.

Harlow’s blood boiled as she stared at the woman. It’s been long since she’s felt this anger and jealousy for this man. Why was she suddenly feeling this way?

"Hehehe, you’re very funny Mr. How can that be possible?" Harlow watched Brenda laugh cutely and it almost made her puke.

"You can go take your bath now. I’ll attend to the guest." Harlow tapped Alanis’s shoulder Alanis sighed in relief. He couldn’t tell how much more he had to endure and pretend to be nice.

Acting nice is not him.

He held his wife’s palm and placed his lips on it before stepping out.

"It’s so nice to see you again Brenda." Harlow ignored Alanis’s sweet gesture as she stared at the woman. She moved her gaze around as if searching for something or maybe someone. How the hell did this woman even find them?

"You’re here, where is Brian?" She asked.

"Oh, he couldn’t make it and said I should bring fruit to the neighbors. I had no idea it would be you guys." Brenda lied. She had brought the fruit herself because she wanted to see Alanis, now that he was gone, he had suddenly turned bored.

She would need to do something to get some time alone with that man. Surely her plans might work.

"Thank you for your kindness, we’ll do well to visit some too," Harlow said.

"Of course, I shall take my leave now." At that, Brenda stepped out of the cabin and Harlow closed the door.

"Stupid bitch." Brenda stomped her feet on the ground. "Just wait till I steal the life you think you have from you." She muttered and started walking away.

As she walked towards the fence, she stumbled on a little stone and fell to the floor. "Huh." She groaned staring at her scratched knee.

Why is nothing going her way this morning? Her eyes moistened. This morning she had visited Alanis intending to finally know his name, but she still didn’t get it.

Are they trying to hide their names and identity? But why?

Brenda was so furious, that she picked the stone from the floor, "Ahh." She thrashed it with a force and... "Ouch." A male voice sounded from the other yard.

"Be a man for once Brian." She snapped, ignoring his bleeding head.

"W... whe... where y... yo...you a... able t... to... to see them?" Brian asked from the other side of the fence as he helped his wife climb over. He wiped the blood spilling from his broken flesh with the back of his hand. He has been waiting in the sun for her for almost an hour now.

After leaving last night, Brenda had returned telling him she wanted to show him something. He joined her for whatever she wanted to show him only to be brought to a massive farmland.

"Brian, you told me to pick a country and a place to raise our children right?"

"I... I d... did." Brian responded narrowing his eyes at her. First, she leaves him at the cinema only to return and then bring him here at this time of the night.

"This is the place I’ve chosen. I want to live in this country and I want to raise our children here too." Brenda said with joy. It’s the first time Brian has seen this happy since their marriage and doesn’t want to ruin it.

"A... a... are y... y... you sh... sh...sure?" He asked. "Y... u... you know ... I... I...I’m us... using all of m... m... my in... inheritance for th... th... this B... B... Brenda. Th... t... there’s n... no going b... b... back once we buy th... this place. D... Don’t you th... think we sh... sh... should explore th... the other si... s... side of the wo... world first before we m... m... make our final de... de... decision?" Brian asked.

Unlike Brenda, he didn’t like this place and wanted somewhere else. Somewhere in the city, not some farm, but it seems his wife’s mind was made up.

"This is where I want to live Brian," Brenda said. This place was next to Alanis’s house. She wouldn’t care if she got caught being with him, Brian had not signed a prenup when they got married, so she could still take half of everything he owned and live with Alanis forever.

"Th... then this sh... sh... shall be our ho... home." Brian declared and went in to speak to the owners. It was a very long process, the farmers wouldn’t just give up their homes and their place of income. So he decided something.

They could keep the farm and the fields since he doesn’t need it and he could only just purchase the house and the little free yard in front of it.

The farmer agreed and sold the house to him. His offer was huge, plus he could use the money to build another house on the fields if he wanted to.

Presently...

"Wh... what we... we... were the new neighbors l... l... like? A... a... are they fr... fr... friendly? Wh... who are th... th... they?" Brian asked.

"You ask too many questions, Brian. They accepted the cookies okay!" Brenda walked away. She was already so pissed that she didn’t get Alanis’s name or even have enough time to talk to him.

First, he was cold to her and secondly, his stupid wife interrupted them.

"Claudia, I don’t know what to do. Mike is threatening to release the photos." Lia sounded desperate as she spoke to her sister-in-law, but Claudia’s nonchalant attitude only drove her crazy.

Claudia had barely spoken a word ever since she almost lost her child and would just focus solely on her cell phone

Lia was worried about her at the same time about herself.

"Claudia, are you listening?" Lia asked to see her finally drop her phone. freēwēbnovel.com

"Lia, you’re a grown-ass woman now. Face your own problems like I’m facing mine." Claudia said. She had a lot going on in her mind. She has no time left anymore, in a few days the loan sharks will be back to kill her and she is more than willing to just die.

"What are you talking about? You were the one who introduced me to Mike." Lia cried out.

Lia had been desperate back then to have a man for herself and she complained to Claudia about it.

Every boyfriend and every man she’s dated in the past only agreed to date her for money then they dump her when they’ve found a girl hotter and sexier. She was tired of the series of heartbreak.

Then, Claudia agreed to introduce her to her friend. At first, Lia thought she had found the one, but little did she know she had gotten into bigger trouble.

As they had sex, Mike took videos and photos of them, and just like that he started blackmailing and extorting money from her.

Right now, he was asking for too much. He was asking for a huge amount of money that she would never be able to give him even if she gave him all of her monthly allowance.
