"Let’s go." Alanis turned to Harlow, eyes dark but softening only for her. He scooped her up like she weighed nothing.
"You don’t have to carry me like this..." Harlow murmured, pretending to complain, but her arms circled his neck.
"Too bad. You’re mine," Alanis said.
"You’re scared, and the rooms ahead are even more terrifying. You can lean on me Villian." He said calmly and Harlow buried her face on his chest to hide from the scary monsters, her fingers gripping the fabric of his shirt. Alanis could only smile at her behavior.
For a woman so tough and with a big wide mouth, he now knew how to shut her up sometimes.
When they reached the last room where more people were. "You can open your eyes now," Alanis whispered in her ears and she raised her head to look at him. And then without warning, his lips met hers.
And after a while, he pulled out.
"Did you take the pictures?" Alanis turned to the girl who demanded for their pictures before. She stood there frozen, staring at the man with wide eyes.
"N... No." The girl said when the elderly woman pinched her.
Harlow blushed when she saw other people see them kiss. She had not expected it. Alanis had once again embarrassed her before so many people.
"You can take pictures of us. Use it however you want." Before Harlow could register what was happening again, Alanis kissed her for the second time, this time deepening the kiss.
Click. Click. The girl finally remembered to take the pictures, her hands trembling.
The older woman in the group nearly fainted, caught mid-swoon. She had never seen such raw, passionate love in real life before. They all stared, breathless.
They should’ve known. This was the Hamilton couple, the infamous duo who fought and loved like legends. And now, they had witnessed their love firsthand.
They watched Alanis carry his wife out like a king, after handing out the keys back to them.
Harlow, blushing to the tips of her ears, whispered, "You really didn’t have to make a scene..."
"I’ll make a thousand more if it means everyone knows you’re mine," he whispered back.
Brenda, eyes all red, face read in anger wanted to step out with them but was denied access. A woman quickly stepped in front of her arms crossed as she stared at Brenda.
"You can’t go out without a partner." The woman reminded her.
Brenda’s head snapped as she glared at the woman. "Move." She said but the woman didn’t move.
"I thought you said you weren’t the home wrecker, why did you let your supposed husband kiss another woman right in front of you and do nothing?" The woman mocked her.
Brenda clutched her hands into a fist, her nails digging into her palms as she stared at them. She had nothing else to say now, but she would surely make them eat their words in the future.
Brenda groaned and started walking away. She needed to leave this place. She has had it with those women constantly mocking her.
So what if she wanted to kiss Alanis? This is a free country, she can do whatever she wants.
"Where’s that stupid man?" Brenda muttered under her breath as she stomped back into the other rooms she had walked out of.
Brian was with Harlow, so where the hell is he?
She gritted her teeth and stepped back in. When she reached the room Brian was in, Brenda’s eyes went wide.
"What the hell?" She said.
"B... Brenda h... H... Help me." Brian cried out. He only did what she asked of him, trying to seduce Alanis’s wife. He had no idea the man would show up to beat him like this.
"Stand up and let’s go. I gave you one simple task, yet you couldn’t do it." Brenda complained forcing him up from where he lay.
Alanis and Harlow were leaving already and she couldn’t step out without him. She gritted her teeth.
She grabbed his arm and yanked him to his feet. "I’m going to divorce you, Brian. This marriage is the biggest joke of my life."
She dragged him out, room after room, her heels clicking furiously, her pride bleeding with every step.
As more couples entered the haunted house, some took one look at the disheveled pair and ran off, thinking they were part of the horror.
Brenda had never been more humiliated in her life.
This is all Harlow’s fault. Harlow is to be blamed for this.
...
"I noticed how you’ve been avoiding me all day," Alanis said to the woman seated beside him in the car as she stared out the window. She had made his day a living hell, because of her attitude and he wanted to know why.
Why the sudden change?
But even till now, she still avoided his gaze.
"Villian?" He called and Harlow turned to look at him, her green eyes bright. She was too embarrassed to say anything, she wanted to let things go back to the way they were.
She wanted to turn back into the cold and distant Harlow, but Alanis’s action today confused her all over again. Was he really not attracted to her body or did he do everything for show?
Alanis moved his hands through his disheveled hair as he watched her. Her silence was killing him slowly. Just this morning she had offered herself to him, and now this?
Their relationship had gotten a little better than before, at least she was willing to learn to love him, and now this.
"Villian you know how bad I hate you ignoring me. Just tell me what I’ve done wrong this time."
"I’m sorry for pushing you so hard this morning." He heard her say.
"What are you talking about?" Alanis asked.
"You’ve done nothing wrong this time Alanis. It’s me, it’s all me. I’m sorry I threw myself at you." She started.
