While Alanis searched the world for his wife, over at a far far away land, a little boy stepped out of a black Prada with a huge candy in his hands.
"Mommy! Mommy! Look at what Aunt Lia bought me." The little boy ran to his mother joyfully and she smiled.
"Isn’t your aunt the best?" The woman pinched his cheeks and he smiled.
"She is! She is the best in the world." He said before running inside.
"Thank you." Harlow hugged her sister-in-law as she welcomed her in.
"How was your trip?" Came Harlow’s voice as they stepped inside the mansion before them.
It’s been seven years since she left Halkhalls for good and came to this city. Seven years since she stepped out of this mansion and changed her identity. And the reason was because she didn’t want Alanis to find her again.
She knew Alanis so well, that he would never rest until he found her.
Lia had been the one representing her everywhere. Lia was her face, while she ran her business from within. That is why no one has been able to find her anywhere.
Her once-red hair that flowed down to her back was now hanging on her shoulders in waves. Seven years didn’t do much to Harlow’s beauty. She was still as gorgeous as ever, and her sister-in-law seemed to have lost weight a lot due to her frequent business trips.
"It was beautiful sister-in-law. The best. I met quite a few people."
"Ouuuu!" Harlow kept that knowing smile and Lia blushed. They had no idea how both of them had turned from the worst enemies to the best of friends. They loved each other so dearly. And little Alex too.
Yes, Harlow had her baby again. And ever since his return, she has loved him so dearly. She loved him more than life itself.
When Harlow met Lia a few years back, she had just escaped from Halkhalls. The night Alanis had the accident she had seen everything. She wanted to go back to help him but she couldn’t.
She cried calling the Halkhalls emergency unit, reporting the drastic accident that just took place while she also called Charlotte and the Hamilton’s guards about Alanis. It’s the last time Charlotte heard from her daughter-in-law ever again.
Harlow apologized to the older woman many times before hanging up.
She wanted to go back and save Alanis, she would never forgive herself if anything happened to him, but she held herself. Alanis had done the same in the past, and that was her payback to him.
Three months after leaving Halkhalls, Harlow had discovered her pregnancy. Starting her life afresh in a city she knew nothing about while being pregnant was quite hard for Harlow.
Along the line, she found her sister-in-law who had no idea what had happened or why Harlow had run away from her brother. But Lia housed her and took good care of her and the baby. Just as Lia had promised, she had changed a lot and for the better.
She was no longer the spoilt and arrogant Hamilton’s daughter. She was now a responsible young lady. One with a good heart.
Lia has loved Alex since the day he was born. Unlike in the past, in this life, she treated her nephew like her own child. Gave him everything he ever wanted.
She was ready to spoil him with everything. She loved him better than she did Alanis.
In less than a year after giving birth, Harlow had gotten her life back together, investing in so many businesses and more. She had not taken a dime from the Hamilton fortune but she made things a lot harder for them by destroying everything she did for them.
She returned the company back to the way it was before she took over. It took her less than a year to grow the company, but it has taken Alanis seven years to almost reach that milestone.
"Tell me all about him." Harlow sat on the couch receiving the cup of tea the maids brought for her and Lia received her juice.
"His name is Ezekiel Stanford," Lia said blushing at the thought of him. Though she met him two months ago, it felt like she’d known him her whole life.
Ezekiel had even proposed to her without wanting to touch her inappropriately. He told her he knew about her past and had even seen the videos around, but he didn’t care. He was ready to destroy the person that has played with the love of his life.
Lia cried as she told Harlow the story. She would never believe in a thousand years that she would find a man like Ezekiel Stanford.
"We’re engaged, Harlow." Lia showed off her diamond ring. It was indeed beautiful and very rare.
"He said he wants to see you, Harlow. I’ve told him a lot about you and Alex and he has been super excited to meet you and the rest of our family." But Lia’s voice suddenly turned low at the thought of them.
If she was to be married to Ezekiel, does that mean Harlow wouldn’t be in attendance?
She knew Harlow had avoided her constant question about why she left Alanis and didn’t want to talk about it. She wondered if her wedding would be bringing them together again.
"I’ll ask my private investigators to find out things about him. We can’t make the same mistake twice Lia." Harlow said. Even if Ezekiel seems genuine, Harlow would never let anyone hurt Lia again. Never.
"Guard your heart for now Lia. Don’t fall yet. Once I’m done with the investigation, we can proceed with the wedding." Harlow said.
"Come on sister-in-law, stop being so uptight and protective. Ezekiel is not a bad person." Lia laughed. She knew why Harlow was being this way, but she was so sure Ezekiel wasn’t a bad person
Yes, their love might be a little too rushed, but isn’t that what true love is about?
You meet someone and you instantly know, he’s the one.
"But I worry Harlow." Lia suddenly said, her voice low.
"About what?" Harlow asked.
"You’re my family and brother Alanis and brother George are my family too. How can you all attend the wedding together if you’re...?" Lia paused seat jing for the right words.
"I don’t have to be there to congratulate you, Lia." Harlow smiled.
"But why are you avoiding everyone? Did you do something terrible before leaving Harlow?" Lia asked. She was tired of being in the dark for so long.
She has wanted to call Alanis and tell him about his child and wife, but she made a promise to Harlow to never tell anyone where they are. If she does, she would be breaking her promise to Harlow.
Seven years have passed, and Alanis probably has moved on from whatever they had fought about. Lia thought. But to Harlow, she felt like Alanis might hate her so much.
He must have remarried. Maybe after searching for her for a year or two, he may have moved on with his life. It wouldn’t cause any harm attending Lia’s wedding right?
"I didn’t do anything he hadn’t done to me," Harlow said casually. She only got her revenge on him, just as she had promised.
She had learned from her past life. The last thing she wanted was for Alex to go through the same fate. She would shield her son from such life this time.
"I have no idea why you two decided to split up, it is none of my business," Lia said.
"But please don’t keep my nephew away from his father, he deserves to know him. Alanis is a caring man, I’m sure he would be a good father too."

Just as George had promised, he had finally succeeded in dragging Alanis from his office over to the Lincoln party with the little bet they made.
He would never complain about Alanis finding his ex-wife if he doesn’t find a bride tonight. But George had a little twist for his elder brother. A twist the man knew nothing about.
Little did he know, Alanis had his own twist for George too.
They stepped into the hall filled with guests to its brim. Beautiful decorations hung from one side of the wall to another. "The Lincolns seem to know a lot of people," George said, voice raised high due to the loud music.
"They do," Alanis said. Immediately three women rushed towards them, dressed in the most beautiful dresses. Their bodies were adorned with flashy jewels.
Everyone knew Alanis to be the ultimate lover body. Though the general public had no idea how his marriage with Harlow Blackwood ended or where she was, every girl wanted to be the new Harlow Blackwood.
"Mr Hamilton, it’s so nice to see you." One of them said.
"Well, this is my cue to leave." George smiled before walking away.
