"I forgive you all," Harlow said finally shifting her gaze from Alanis. She didn’t have the time to argue with him tonight. Maybe tomorrow, but definitely not tonight.
"And I hope you all forgive me too. From now on, I want us all to live as one family." She said calmly.
"Of course we will," Lia said.
"Yes, we will." Everyone agreed.
"Welcome back to the family Harlow." George hugged his sister-in-law but of course, that action earned him a glare from his elder brother.
"Thank you," Harlow said calmly.
"I can’t believe I’ve also been gone for seven years yet none of you have said a welcome to me. Harlow’s not the only member of this family you know." Lia said and everyone laughed.
"Welcome back Lia." Both George and Charlotte said at once. George went ahead to hug his younger sister too. He had said terrible things to her while she left, and he felt truly sorry for it.
"I’m sorry too for hurting you rather than comforting you back then. Grandma told me what happened." He scratched the back of his head. He had been a stupid bastard back then, but a lot has changed now.
He’s learned so much from Alanis and Charlotte. He’s gotten more mature in the last seven years.
"It’s alright George," Lia said. She understood he was just mad at her for embarrassing the family, it’s not like he meant anything he said.
"Let the past be in the past. We’re in the new now." Lia said.
"You’re right." George agreed.
"We made dinner. I’m sure you all are hungry, let’s eat together." Charlotte held her two great grandson’s hands as they escorted her to the dining room.
Frank was the next person to leave. Alanis held his wife’s hands as they left too. George walked away, but Lia remained in the lounge.
She stayed back because she received a text from someone.
"I just arrived, send me your address."
She smiled at the text and sent a message back immediately. Lia found her way to the dining room to join her family members for dinner. She couldn’t wait to show them the surprise she had for them.
When Lia arrived in the dining room, she was greeted by the large rectangular table filled with food to its brim. Just as Charlotte had promised this was truly a feast.
"Hi, I’m Alex," Alex said to his nephew.
"Hi, I’m Liam," Liam responded waving his little hands back.
"My daddy says you’re my brother." Liam nodded at his brother’s words.
"Daddy said so too," Liam said. He too was excited to meet his new brother, but he was shy. Liam didn’t know how to speak to Alex. He wasn’t that good at communicating with anyone.
"We will play together from now on Liam. We’ll attend the same school and promise me I’ll be your friend for life." Alex said and Liam nodded.
"Not until you both like the same girl."
"George!!" Everyone screamed his name and he raised his hands in surrender.
"But I’m just saying. Make sure you two keep your word even when that time comes."
"They’re kids George." Mama Harlow came to the rescue and George gave up.
"Everyone, let’s eat," Charlotte said and everyone dug into their meal.
"George, have you been able to visit mother?" Lia suddenly asked while they all ate and conversed peacefully.
"I have. The last time I was there with Liam, she didn’t come out to see us and sent a guard to tell us to never visit anymore." Even if Garth had been the worst mother, she was still their mother and it’s only normal she cared about her.
"Oh, that’s typical Garth." Everyone laughed.
Even if it had only been attempted murder, Garth was to spend her lifetime behind bars and as for Elisa, she was accused of the murder of Nathan Eagle. It turns out the hospital finally exposed both she and Claudia through the investigation done by Nathan’s children.
Elisa had shifted the blame from Claudia entirely, taking accountability for her actions. For that, she was also sentenced to a lifetime imprisonment. Where she gets to stay with her frenemy for the rest of her life.
Every day she hopes to get a glimpse of her daughter and maybe her grandchild, but George had already said he couldn’t find Claudia or his child.
As for Bodhi, after a few years of investigating, Alanis had discovered he was responsible for his accident and had dealt with him greatly.
It seems filing a restraining order wasn’t enough, he has managed to get the man out of Halkhalls completely warning him to never return.
"And Claudia, have you been able to speak to her or did you steal Liam away from her?" Lia asked.
"Claudia didn’t give birth to my son," George said. "Unfortunately, she owed a huge money and could not pay. Those people have turned her into a sex worker to be able to collect the money she owes." George said. He really didn’t want to talk about her, but since Lia asked he had to bring it up.
"What a sad ending," Lia said. Though she wouldn’t wish this on anyone, seeing Claudia suffer for all of the bad things she had done to her gave her a sense of satisfaction.
"She was pregnant. What happened to her child?" Harlow asked. If Liam isn’t Claudia’s then what happened to her?
"She lost our child along the line." He added. Harlow said nothing else, and only two people understood her silence. Everything Claudia had done to her in the past, she had faced the punishment for it in this life.
Sending men to rape her while recording it for the world to see, now she was a pornstar too. Harlow felt relieved. She had taken revenge on the people that hurt her in the past, now, she can sleep knowing her children were resting well.
While everyone ate and chatted with each other, Lia’s cell phone beeped again. She smiled and excused herself quietly from the dining room. After a few seconds, Lia returned with a fine gentleman.
He was tall, in a brown suit, his blonde hair perfectly styled to the side, a few strands falling to his face. His presence commanded power that made all heads turn the moment he stepped in.
"Hello everyone." Though Harlow hadn’t seen him before, from the little description Lia had given her, she could tell this was Ezekiel Stanford. Lia’s Knight in shining armor.
Just as Harlow had promised to investigate, the man had no dark history, no police record. Nothing.
He is just a business tycoon.
A billionaire and the only heir of the Stanford family. Harlow was super happy for her sister-in-law. At last, Lia had found her forever.
"Lia, who’s this?" Charlotte asked staring at the young man. George and Alanis did too as they stared at the man their sister was with.
Lia has had a terrible history with men and they didn’t want her to get hurt again. George’s brotherly instinct kicked and he was about to speak when Alanis stopped him.
He could see how happy Lia was. It’s the best feeling in the world. Finding the one person you truly love.
"Grandma, this is Ezekiel Stanford, my fiance." Lia introduced. frёeωebɳovel.com
"Hello everyone, I’m pleased to meet you all." He said calmly then turned to Charlotte.
"I heard from my flower you love fruit wine, so I got you this." He placed a big bottle of wine before Charlotte and she smiled. Charlotte stared at the wine, her insides leaping for joy but she controlled herself.
If this fine gentleman thinks he can bribe her with mere wine, then he must be joking. Her granddaughter is worth more than the most expensive fruit wine in the world.
"Come my child, please sit with us. Join us for dinner." Charlotte said calmly.
They all watched Lia walk over to her seat with Ezekiel. George couldn’t stop staring at the man.
