The Bodyguard King's CEO Wife-Chapter 1317: Fire Man
"Damn it," Ji Qian cursed under her breath. Before she could react, a ghost fire pounced toward her.
"Moonlight Formation," Ji Qian immediately deployed the array, blocking the ghost fire. Vulcan was a master of fire, renowned for his ability to "summon" ghost fire. Each fireball was not only scorching hot but also contained immense energy. Compared to the former Fire God Hephesto, Vulcan was undoubtedly a formidable opponent.
"How about it, beautiful? Can you still hold on?" Vulcan laughed loudly. With red hair and an extraordinarily odd outfit, Vulcan looked like a madman from a horror movie, inspiring both fear and hatred.
"With just a few tricks, you want me to admit defeat?" Ji Qian sneered, extending her left hand. The water element floated in her palm, emitting a dazzling blue light.
"What is that?" Vulcan’s expression changed dramatically. Instinctively avoiding danger, he turned his head suddenly. An ice spike was hovering behind him, and in the next second, it shot forward like an arrow.
"Little beauty, you have some skills," Vulcan wiped the blood off his face. If he hadn’t dodged in time, the ice spike would have done more than just scratch his cheek. As a Main God, he seemed to have an innate sense of danger.
"Bring it on," as Ji Qian’s words fell, dozens of ice spikes formed out of thin air. Although not made of metal, the spikes’ tips were incredibly sharp. The water element was Atlantis’ treasure, and ice spikes formed with Inner Strength could cut through iron like mud.
"Let’s see if your ice melts," Vulcan roared. His entire skin turned crimson, and the next scene astonished everyone. Vulcan’s skin started "to burn"—first his limbs, then his body, rising from below to his neck, face, and even his eyes. Finally, even his pupils turned to flames. It was as if he had spontaneously combusted, becoming a fireball, with his clothes turning to ash and falling to the ground. Every inch of his skin had become a roaring flame.
Vulcan, truly transformed into a "Fire Man."
Everyone was shocked. Even Aphrodite seemed not to have expected Vulcan to have this secret technique, which could turn his entire body into flame. If an ordinary person was burned like this, they would become charcoal.
A dozen ice spikes stabbed down, and Vulcan caught two in his hands. The ice spikes instantly turned to water, spilling on the ground, soon evaporating, and the surrounding grass ignited.
"Oh my," Ji Qian couldn’t help but be astonished, unsure how to handle Vulcan’s strike.
"Moon God Spell—Starfall," Ji Qian swung her gemstone magic wand, and several beams of silver light fell, striking Vulcan and knocking him away.
"Is that all you’ve got?" Despite the powerful beams, they inflicted no real damage on Vulcan, merely knocking him to the ground. The dust around him was burned to ash by his flames.
Ji Qian wasn’t sure if she was facing a human or a monster since even his eyes had turned to flames.
Did he have no organs, or was the flame merely superficial? After all, if skin were burnt, the damage would be irreversible. Vulcan’s flames incinerated everything obstructing him, and Ji Qian attacked while dodging his counters.
"Qian, be careful," Ye Shikai watched, beads of sweat forming on his brow. These newly crowned Main Gods were not relying on luck; each was powerful, with hidden cards. Vulcan was on fire, but Ye Shikai confirmed it wasn’t a "suicidal attack." Since the world had cultivation techniques like the Shadow People, Vulcan must be using a special skill. Ji Qian couldn’t devise a counter immediately and had to fight while avoiding Vulcan. Ye Shikai, lacking Inner Strength, would court death by charging in. He rummaged through his belongings and found a dagger at his waist, which he threw at Vulcan without a second thought.
Vulcan caught the dagger, his burning hand melting the blade into liquid. Ye Shikai was shocked at how high Vulcan’s temperature must be to melt steel.
"Hades," Vulcan’s voice transformed, his lips moving soundlessly, the sound becoming hoarse like a hellish echo, chilling to the bone.
Vulcan turned, pouncing toward Ye Shikai, realizing his target. He shoved aside the Shadow People, his heat intense enough to incinerate a human body; touching it would cause grave injury, and several Shadow People writhed on the ground in pain.
"Protect the lord," Nightmare immediately reacted, darting to Ye Shikai’s side. Though he feared no ordinary being, Vulcan wrapped in flames was like a hedgehog—utterly impregnable.
Nightmare lunged at Vulcan, jabbing with his spear, only for Vulcan to catch it in his hand. The twin spears were legendary artifacts, highly heat resistant. Nightmare boosted with his left hand, thrusting the other spear into Vulcan’s chest, a fatal spot.
Before Nightmare could rejoice, Vulcan delivered a heavy punch. Nightmare sidestepped, withdrawing the spear, but even that heat left his cheek stinging unbearably.
This Vulcan, what secret technique made him not only turn into a "Fire Man" but also an undying?
"Fall back," Nightmare commanded, signaling the Dark Guards to protectively withdraw with Ye Shikai.
"Moonlight Formation," Ji Qian arrived just in time, channeling Inner Strength to form an array in the air, enveloping Vulcan.
"Everyone, retreat to the exit," Ji Qian shouted, as the Dark Guards, led by Nightmare, fought their way out of the Shadow People encirclement toward Soul Destroyer and Demoness.
"Do you think one formation can trap me?" Vulcan laughed hoarsely, placing his hands on the formation. The energy shield, pressured by the heat, showed signs of collapsing. Ji Qian intensified her Inner Strength output to stabilize the Moonlight Formation. However, Vulcan’s attacks were too destructive; at most, he would break through within a minute.
Whoosh, whoosh.
Suddenly, two golden arrows flashed through the air, piercing Vulcan’s left and right chest, toppling him. Ji Qian instantly felt relieved, turning to see the arrows were Emily’s handiwork.
"Moon God, I’m not here to help you, but now we must fight our way out," Emily said coldly, her tone indifferent. She was entirely unwilling, but with Aphrodite seemingly crazed and even targeting her, the only choice left was to join forces with the Three Temples and carve a bloody path to freedom.
