The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 395: Epilogue - Part 1
147 years later...
In the heart of autumn, a tranquil cemetry was bathed in a golden afternoon light. The canopy above was a tapestry of vibrant hues—deep reds, brilliant oranges, and shimmering yellows.
Leaves drifted lazily from the branches, carpeting the ground in a crunchy mosaic. A gentle breeze rustled through the trees, carrying the earthy scent of fallen leaves and the faint aroma of pine. Sunlight filtered through the foliage, casting dappled shadows that danced with the movement of the branches.
Emily watched as her family members whispered their last words to her as they left flowers at her tombstone that was just placed there not so long ago. It was such an unexpected weather. She didn’t expect her farewell from this world to be this warm, sunny, and colorful.
When Shadow left, it rained heavily. When Kaiden left her ten years ago, it was an extremely cold day with a heavy snowstorm that went on for hours. Unexpectedly, when her time arrived to leave the mortal world, it was on a beautiful day of autumn.
Taking one final look at the people who were her family, friends, or business partners, Emily turned around and started walking in the opposite direction in her spirit form.
She had no idea where she was supposed to go now, or what was going to happen to her. Yet, she kept walking with a light heart. The only sadness she felt at that moment was that she failed to see either Shadow or Kaiden waiting for her just like they promised during their last moments. Both the men failed in keeping their words.
Probably, there was never a reunion written for the three of them. The thought was heartbreaking, but Emily could do nothing other than accepting it with a bittersweet smile on her lips.
She might have walked a certain distance when a bright golden light suddenly shone on her from the sky above, engulfing her completely in its warmth and brightness. Sensation of magic took over her before her surroundings became a whirlpool and she got sucked into it.

When the world around her finally stopped moving, Emily found herself in a completely new place. She looked down at her body and found that she was no longer a spirit but possessed an actual body. Not only that, she was dressed in a beautiful and elegant dress that flowed around her in layers. Her long brown hair was falling around her shoulders in waves and she was adorned with golden jewelry.
Her gaze then shifted to the area around her and as she finally got a look at familiar white platform, golden pillars, and Sakura trees, memories started returning to her.
She wasn’t Emily, or better to say - she was no longer Emily.
"High Lady Evara, congratulations on completing your life tribulation."
"Welcome back to the High Realm, Your Highness."
Suddenly, there were familiar faces standing on the platform, welcoming her return and congratulating her for successfully completing her life tribulation.
Before she could have wrapped her brain around everything that was happening, a man stepped forward from the crowd and informed her with a formal greeting. "Your Highness, High Duke wants to have a word with you."
Regaining all her memories, Evara knew exactly who was summoning her and why. She silently followed the guard and the two of them teleported straight to High Duke’s palace.
The guard led her to the Duke’s study before leaving. Sitting at his study desk while submerged in the official work, the not-so-old looking man didn’t spare Evara a single glance as she stepped in front of his desk before kneeling on the floor.
"Father."
Evara greeted the man with a formal bow and remained in that state, fully aware that she was about to get reprimanded.
"Nice to see you back, kid. I thought I will not get to see you for another couple of centuries in case you decided to flee from the High Realm again as soon as you returned." High Duke spoke as he continued signing the documents. Though there was no anger in his tone, his words clearly stated just how disappointed he was in her.
"I know my mistake, father. I shouldn’t have went to the Mortal Realm out of anger." Evara tried to dispel her father’s anger by accepting her stupidity. However, it was easier said than done.
High Duke finally looked up from the documents and toward his only daughter whom he had spoiled from her very birth. The fact that she was also the only Princess in the Realm also didn’t help much. "So, you are finally accepting that your decision of fleeing from the High Realm was a mistake. Even if you were unhappy about the betrothal, you shouldn’t have acted like that. Did you know the chaos you created in the Realm because of you entering the Divine Portal and entering the Mortal Realm?"
Very slowly, Evara shook her head in a negative response which resulted in a deep sigh from her father. He stood up from his desk and picked up something from the wooden shelf standing behind him. Heading toward her, he helped her up before handing her the small glass vial that was filled with a dark blue liquid.
"You should take a look at what happened after you jumped into the Divine Portal. There are some surprises awaiting for you in there." He told her with an unreadable expression on his face. He was silent for a moment or two before adding, "And once you are done looking at it and have a better hold on this entire situation, make sure to apologize to the person who deserves it the most."
Evara opened her mouth to speak, to ask what he was trying to say, but High Duke was already heading out of the study, leaving her alone in there with the vial of sacred information record of the High Realm. Letting out a sigh, she headed toward her private quarters to take a look at the record.
