The Broken Halo-Chapter 188: STOP!
For a demon to transform their Flickering Heart to a Burning Heart, what the demon had to do was simple and at the same time... extremely dangerous.
Burn their heart using their Chaos Flame.
Despite the fact that a demon’s heart was the vessel of a demon’s chaos flame, the chaos flame could still damage a demon’s heart... especially during an advancement to a higher rank.
Simon’s eyes were closed as he could feel and see his dark silver chaos flame in his demon heart.
With an extremely focused expression and his mind tuning out every single thing, he controlled his chaos flame which was at the center of his demon heart to flow to the right part of his demon heart.
When it came to a demon’s chaos flame, one could say that it was inside a demon’s heart and at the same time, it was not.
For those with sharp senses, they’d realize that the chaos flame was actually in another space. It was actually not in their heart, but at the same time, it was.
It was an extremely confusing topic many knowledgeable demons struggled to comprehend.
However, the moment a demon decided to move their chaos flame so as to touch their heart, the chaos flame would no longer be in its space/plane, but would be in the space/plane of the demon’s heart.
The moment Simon controlled his chaos flame and it touched the right part of his heart, he felt immense pain that nearly made him curse in pain.
The point of contact between his heart and his chaos flame instantly ignited, and Simon knew that he had to continue despite the pain.
If he stopped or lost control of his chaos flame, his heart would burn to ashes by his chaos flame and he’d die.
This was one of the dangers demons had to go through when advancing to a higher rank, and elite demon organizations now had methods to make it easier for a demon to advance without feeling so much pain when burning their heart.
But Simon did not have the luxury to get such assistance from the clan.
He had to do it himself, and what he did not know was that the pain he was feeling was a lot more because his chaos flame was unique compared to other demons.
He moved his chaos flame across his heart in a clockwise direction, igniting and burning his heart in a slow and methodical manner.
He couldn’t rush it because doing so would cause more damage to his heart and would affect him at the end of the day.
For him to successfully advance and become a Fiend, he needed every part of his heart to burn with his chaos flame.
And this was where those who chose to advance as Prime Lesser Demons and those with Lesser or Common Bloodlines would find it difficult to advance.
Every movement of the chaos flame decreased its size, and once the chaos flame was completely used up and the whole heart of the demon was not in flames, then it meant that the demon had failed his or her advancement.
As for Simon?
This was not a problem for him after the evolution of his chaos flame.
’What if I had never gone through what Pellin did to me? Would I be able to handle this pain?’
As Simon circulated his chaos flame around his heart, his mind suddenly drifted toward Pellin and how in a way, Pellin was the reason why he could handle this immense pain without screaming his lungs out or losing control of his chaos flame.
’At least he has served his purpose in his life which was to prepare me for every painful experience I’ll go through... He did well.’
Simon snickered, then he placed his full attention on his demonic heart because he was at the last stage.
His body was soaked in sweat, the air burned around him, and the demonic energy in his room and even beyond it flowed into the pores on his body.
With a deep guttural grunt, he sent his chaos flame to the last unburned part of his heart.
The moment this part got ignited, his heart suddenly released a powerful beat, and his rate at which he sucked in the demonic energy around him increased.
A powerful energy flowed across every part of his body, and he felt himself getting more and more powerful with every second that passed.
Badum!
Badum!
Badum!
Badum!
Badum!
Badum!
Simon could hear the sound of his heart beating loudly, and if somebody else was in the cultivation room, they would be able to hear the sound of his heartbeat.
As his heart burned, Simon felt pain, and he knew that this would stop once his heart had already adapted to his chaos flame.
It was painful, but he could handle it.
But after some minutes, his expression changed as he felt his demon cat bloodline become active.
A phantom image of a colossal tiger with sky blue eyes standing on the peak of a mountain appeared in his head.
He couldn’t see much of the tiger’s appearance, and everything he saw was in black and white. Only the tiger’s eyes were sky blue.
It looked at the heavens and roared!
ROARRRRR!
The mountain shook and the skies trembled as the winds around the colossal tiger became violent and turbulent.
Simon then sensed another presence, but this presence was beneath the mountain.
He looked down, and he saw a one-horned demon struggling to climb the mountain.
Compared to the colossal tiger, every part of the one-horned demon was in black and white, and it looked extremely pathetic compared to the colossal tiger.
The colossal tiger growled, then he swiped his claws at the one-horned demon from above.
It was furious that such a pathetic thing dared to make an attempt to invade its territory.
It was disgusted at the pathetic state of the one-horned demon.
The moment Simon saw this, his intuition told him that this was terrible.
He had a feeling that if he did not do something, his one-horned demon bloodline would be completely destroyed by his demon cat bloodline, or to be more specific... his Daemon Tiger Bloodline.
"STOP!"
