Chapter 396: Thunder Tribulation (2)

In the unexplored [Desert Plain] Area, south of the Salted Fish Territory.

The sky and the ground were dark, and the far-off mountains appeared larger than usual, winding like dragons.

Every now and again, the entire Area No. 3 was rocked by a series of horrifying beast roars.

A gust of wind blew, whipping Chunhua’s lustrous hair and azure robes, making her figure sharper and slender.

The sky leaden with clouds rapidly gathered above Chunhua. It suddenly became oppressive and stifling.

The monsters within the whole Area no. 3 roared in the distance, sounding extremely uneasy and restless.

A sandstorm was created on the trails of the creatures that rushed out of the desert like a tide and bolted like they detected something.

Subterranean dwellers dug themselves out and fled as well, while avian monsters stretched their wings and flew frantically out of fear.

More and more black clouds gathered, growing denser and denser like ink swallowing the stars and the two red moons.

The atmosphere became more and more oppressive as though a disaster was about to descend.

"Is that a Thunder Calamity?"

"Isn’t it just the early part of the game? The level of the monsters should be capped by the system! How come it allowed a high-level monster to evolve?"

"Heh. Those human candidates will be in trouble!"

"Damn, whatever it is! That monster’s core will be valuable if it sold outside!"

Exclamations sounded from all parts of Area no. 3 after noticing the terrifying sight and numerous shadows rushed towards the Desert Plain and scoured the area like a madman, planning to kill the monster before the thunder descended.

This strange spectacle could also be seen from the Space Radiation Belt.

The crew in the space ships gathered in the cockpit, observing the swirling mass of jet-black clouds with purple light flickering on the tiny part of the Main Game Planet’s atmosphere through the large monitoring screen.

"What is that?"

The same kind of question raised in everyone’s mind.

This particular footage being recorded was quickly sent to the higher ups.

"Kid, where are you doing at this time?" Triton asked while looking at the sack on Chunhua’s hand. Is she planning to rob someone?

Triton noticed Chunhua building a large ice walls. He was both pleasantly surprise and curious to what exactly is she planning to do with it?

The walls were about 30-meters thick and 20 meters height. Chunhua had built in in case some monsters might make a move on her during tribulations. She can’t afford the trouble.

From a distance, it looks like a small ice town in sandy soil.

Out of pure curiosity, his spirit passed through the walls and floated deep inside.

There was a large space, about two acres and the kid was in sitting cross legs and holding on the pieces of golden crystals.

The sudden loud clap of thunder made Triton’s apparition fluctuate. For a moment, he thought he would disappear.

He hurriedly rushed outside and looked at the sky that had become a mass of dark clouds.

One could see the streaks of lightning, zipping in the midst, discharging a terrifying aura.

This perception made his attention fixated on the clouds and upon deeper observation, he could see that those were not an ordinary sign of a thunderstorm but rather more serious.

It is one of the Three Calamities- Divine Slaughter Thunder Calamity!

Only those high tier monsters in the process of evolving undergo such thing.

He had his share of witnessing very same phenomena and it was not a good memory.

He could still recall every detail on how that those thunders destroyed and flattened a whole mountain, grazing everything to the ground, or how it decimated for cities and destroyed some planets. To survive the Calamity, every race had developed barriers but still couldn’t escape the destruction.

He broke into a cold sweat. A bad premonition aroused within him.

Good thing, the thunders had yet to descend and the range is only a mile! They could still find a place to hide! They just need to get out this Calamities’ range.

"Kid, let’s go back. You see those clouds?" Triton pointed towards the high-budget cinematic storm before explaining, "They aren’t ordinary clouds, their omen of the Thunder Calamity."

"I can’t go back." Chunhua said. If she goes back, then those thunders will hit her territory instead. She could already imagine the system happily rubbing its fingers and waiting for money for repairs and restoration.

More importantly, she will only put those people in danger.

"Don’t be stubborn! Those clouds don’t appear without reason. An extremely high level monster must be evolving nearby. I have no time to explain. Go back and warned those friends of yours to find a shelter from those thunders."

Aren’t thunder tribulations only plaguing those in the path of Dao? Chunhua was surprised. But Grandpa was not someone who would speak without thinking...

Maybe the system for monsters here is different.

If that is true then, as someone who had prior load of experience under her belt, she felt pity for those monsters that they would have to experience it too.

Life is too tough.

Nevertheless, Chunhua made it clear to calm a certain someone, "It’s no monster evolving. It’s me. Those tribulation clouds are following me."

Triton didn’t believe her at all. He kept a straight at her nonsense that was not funny, "Kid, it’s not time to joke around. If you don’t want to end up in ashes, you better run."

"Even if I run to the ends of this map, I cannot escape it." It’s the fate of all cultivators and the system was probably also powerless against this long established Dao rule.

Chunhua finished preparation, laying down all the necessary protection arrays.

Her hands grasped the remaining crystals, slowly absorbing the qi stored inside. Triton’s words only passed through her ears because her concentration was solely on her spiritual sea where a tiny gold seed had formed.

Her qi and blood surged chaotically like restless waves, having no more room to flow.
