Chapter 401: Thunder Tribulations (7)

It was as if the heavenly tribulation didn’t want her to save the foodie’s aspirations of creating an anti-spoilage device....cough I meant stepping into the next realm.

"It’s getting more and more terrifying..." Triton was extremely nervous. Each time the thunders rained down, his figure unconsciously jolt.

The previous ones in his memories couldn’t even compare to the ferocity of this Thunder Calamity. Each bolt was akin to a Tier 9 Thunder magic spell.

For that golden ball of light to still continuously shine and becoming brighter and brighter amidst this destructive force that even scares a Tier 9 Hydromancer like him, it made Triton amazed and respectful for the kid.

The Thunder Calamity that kid is experiencing now was more terrifying than the ones in his memories.

If he was in her shoes, he would long succumb to such force.

She’s much more resilient than she looks.

The thunder rolled and rumbled and each time it struck, it sent chills on everyone’s spines.

Those onlookers even forgot to breath. They felt as if there was a pair of invisible hands squeezing their necks from the dense pressure.

"Is the monster even still alive after all that?"

"Even I would be just a speck of ashes if I was to challenge it."

"And wasn’t there only 18 thunders? It’s gone pass that. If I’m not wrong, it’s already more than 20."

"It’s so bizarre. This Thunder Calamity is unlike I have seen in the records and what is exactly is that light in the center?"

"Is that monster about to sire a beast egg in the middle of its tribulation?"

Everyone wondered but no one could come close to the truth.

Chunhua had forgotten how much time had passed.

All she knew that she was nearly half a jiang shi. Her stomach was empty from all that exercise. The only time keeping her in check was the thought that she hasn’t tried all the food in the galaxy.

A’ran promised to make sushi!

35th

Finally, what it seems to be a torment without end, Chunhua overcome the 35th bolt. The golden core was near to completion. It hung above her head like a moon, emitting a sacred brilliance.

One more...

Just one more...

If Triton would be here, his keen eyes would have noticed the physical changes in Chunhua. One could say that she had become unrecognizable.

Chunhua endured the pain and braced herself for the last one.

Her Master says that in every tribulation, the most powerful one would always be save for last just like how in the every meal where the best is served in the end.

There was a moment of stifling silence like the calm before the storm.

Everyone currently witnessing the changes in the sky sucked in mouthfuls of cold breaths.

Triton’s eyes widened.

Nikolai and Siri also stood by and felt extremely uncomfortable.

Chunhua lifted her head and the noticed that the tribulations clouds became even redder almost dripping with blood and all the thunder converged into center of the dark red whirlpool.

Suddenly, the sky roared at its loudest, almost as if there was a fire dragon deity, emerging from the vortex and was about to wreak havoc on the world.

All the monsters shivered and whimpered, seemingly prostrating themselves to the ground.

The Baron’s and his male student became pale and even those spectators found themselves scared witless and unconsciously retreating once again.

Triton, Siri, Nikolai, and Haoran were no exception. They stood rooted on the spot.

Haoran felt his chest slightly hot and his hand fished out something from his chest, revealing a small round thing. Haoran noticed red glowing strands coming from everywhere rushing towards the pot in his hands.

His eyes surveyed the surroundings and found out he was the only one able to see it.

When his fingers touch the red threads, it only passed through.

Haoran’s eyes flickered. What is this? Though it look like the same as the filaments that sometimes surrounds Xiao Hua, however in was not in gold but red, in the same shade as the current sky.

Elaine, on the other hand, was very thrilled! Tens of Tier 3 to Tier 5 magic scrolls appeared on her palms. Her smile widened.

Just a little more...a little more...

Boom!

As if the fire dragon opened its mouth and let out a draconic breathe and the whole desert plain was bathed in endless violent thunders.

The instant it struck, Chunhua felt her body was torn apart as if she was about to disintegrate into nothing.

Her skin was ripped and crack. Blood seeped out from the crevices. She looked like a ghastly sight.

Every part of her body screams in pain especially her meridians which were force to take in an exuberant amount of qi. They were on the verge of exploding.

Blood dripped from the corner of her mouth and her ears. Chunhua felt a vile rising from her throat.

She felt lightheaded, like floating in air. Her consciousness was drifting away, eyelids became too heavy.

The brightly lit core showed signs of cracks. If Chunhua can’t stabilize the qi in the next few seconds, all her efforts will be in vain and her life will be forfeited.

Suddenly, a voice in her mind pulled Chunhua back from the brink of collapsing.

’Get a hold of yourself!’

The luster in Chunhua’s eyes came back.

Sensing the danger, she forcefully swallowed the blood and quickly healed guided the chaotic qi into the core.

She can’t give up after going all those thunders. The thought of becoming a ghost and not being able to eat again frightens her more than dying.

Absolutely no way!

Chunhua sensed the unruly qi destroying her body and core and quickly subdued them.

The accompanying fierce winds caused sands rolled like enormous waves blurring everyone’s sight and even covering the dazzling light of the monster core.

"I can’t see anything!"

The spectators quickly jumped trying to recover their line of sight.

Triton hurriedly floated up, not wanting to miss anything. "Kid!" He shouted in concern, only for his voice to drown in the loud noises.

Everyone was on the edge of their seats wanting to know if the monster was able to survive that.

Fortunately after that blow, the thunder tribulation clouds seemed to exhaust its power. It dimmed, blurred and began to recede.

But because the dust has yet to settle, everyone didn’t know what happened.

Shua-

Out of nowhere, tens of large magic circles appeared on the sky, above the spot the core was supposed to be.

The Baron recovered from the shock and turned towards his right but Elaine wasn’t there anymore.

"Elaine!" He quickly searched for his student when he couldn’t sense her nearby.

Elaine, who had separated from her teacher, gazed on the magic circles and was about to snap her fingers when a chilling voice came from behind her, along with the heavy smell of blood.

"Are you trying to kill me?"
