The Cannon-Fodder Villainess Faked Her Death, Her Five Beast Mates Go Wild-Chapter 164: Seeking a Way Out
Returning to the room again, Wen Shu handed Luo Fei over to Awen and then secretly activated his superpower, wandering aimlessly around the room.
When he walked to a corner near the coast by the window, his superpower failed.
Having confirmed the approximate location, the Little Winged Dragon also recovered its majestic appearance during treatment, although remaining "unconscious." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Wen Shu took him over, not ignoring the worry in Awen’s eyes.
But she dared not reveal it, holding Luo Fei and returning to the hall, only to encounter a fierce murderous intent as soon as she stepped through the door.
Beside the table filled with meat, Rah’s face was somber, his deep blue eyes brimming with anger, while opposite him, Romande’s lips slightly curled, eyes equally filled with a chilling hostility.
"It seems this cooperation won’t work out."
Romande sneered coldly, tiredly pinching the bridge of his nose.
Faced with such a terrifying atmosphere, Wen Shu froze for a few seconds, and when Romande looked at her, she hurriedly hid behind Rah.
"What’s happening?"
She held Rah’s arm, shaking it forcefully.
"Don’t be afraid."
Rah placed his hand on hers, patting it reassuringly, his strong stance far from that of a hostage.
"Since Romande isn’t sincere, why discuss cooperation?"
He supported himself on the arm of the chair, his tall figure weaving around the table, his large palms wrapping around Wen Shu’s hand as they headed towards the door.
Guards who had been lurking in the shadows all moved towards the door, their footsteps making rustling sounds.
Wen Shu frowned slightly, looking at the Dragon Clan beastmen at the exit, while secretly exerting force with her palms, but it only lasted a moment before the beastmen dispersed again.
"How about this, Chief Rah sends a message back to the valley, and as soon as there’s a reply, I will withdraw the magnets."
Romande paced closer, his sharp brows rising slightly, but the coldness in his eyes hadn’t diminished.
Apparently, he wasn’t happy to concede, but had no choice if he wanted to leave nothing to chance.
The cold look in Rah’s eyes eased slightly at these words.
"Pleasant cooperation."
Sending the message via Memory Stone, the two left the hall as the sun was setting.
The sunset’s rich light dyed the shimmering sea red, and the moist, cool sea breeze brushed their cheeks.
"We’re going to the seaside to watch the sunset, no need for anyone else to follow."
Wen Shu chased away Romande’s men, holding tightly to Rah’s hand, running towards the coast.
At this time, Dragon Clan beastmen had all gone home for dinner, leaving only a few old beastmen at the seaside, diving into the sea to catch fish.
Wen Shu felt a slight confusion but didn’t think much about it, fearing to be followed, she quickly walked along the coast down a sparsely populated path.
"Luo Fei, is there a more hidden route on Dragon Island?"
She asked in a low voice, and Luo Fei, hidden under her cloak, clenched the front of her robe with his front paw and pointed towards the beautiful garden behind the castle.
"The tool shed has a tunnel directly leading to the seabed."
As he spoke, Rah’s expression subtly changed, seeing the entire dragon nestled in the female’s arms, he pursed his lips in discontent.
He directly gripped Wen Shu’s arm, pulling her focus back, "Ashu, someone is still watching us."
Upon hearing the movement, Luo Feihong’s red eyes cooled a bit, cautiously loosening his paw, squinting his eyes, deliberately, "Female, please be careful, Romande’s superpower is very dangerous."
Wen Shu nodded, her steps didn’t slow, pretending to admire while observing the surroundings.
Then Rah’s deep voice came, "Female, I will protect you."
As the words fell, the atmosphere suddenly fell silent for a few seconds.
Female...
Wen Shu had just rounded the castle, reaching a secluded temple, sensing a substantial gaze from within her arms, left her baffled.
She couldn’t see the Little Winged Dragon’s expression through her robe, but suddenly felt a mild sting at her collarbone.
Those hard dragon claws were pressing against her chest.
"Don’t move."
Heat surged to his cheeks instantly, Wen Shu stopped him in a low voice, promptly pressuring the restless Little Winged Dragon in her embrace.
Raising her eyes again, she saw an unexpected thread of golden light shining quietly in the tranquil temple, leaving her stunned in place.
In the original book, weren’t the Divine Tree Leaves on Dragon Island destroyed?
It seemed to be half a year into the storyline...
Maneuvering past the perfectly trimmed green foliage, Wen Shu stepped closer for a clearer look, but the guards outside the temple fiercely stopped them.
"Holy Temple ground, no unauthorized personnel allowed."
The Divine Tree Leaves flashed golden light urgently, urging her to approach, just like the previous encounter in the seabed palace.
But now wasn’t the time, Wen Shu withdrew her gaze, recalling the information related to these leaves, she returned to the room.
She remembered, through these leaves, the female lead was about to learn the truth of the Beast World’s pollution but was suddenly interrupted by... an out of control Sea Beast.
"Female, what’s wrong?"
Rah sat beside her, wanting to get a bit closer, but his arm was swatted by the pretending-to-be-unconscious Little Winged Dragon’s tail.
Wen Shu shook her head, meeting his worried gaze, inexplicably reminded of that scalding cup of water, she lowered her eyes unnaturally.
"I found the flaw in the Magnetic Stone Array."
Sharing the information with Rah, she disclosed her decision, "At dawn, you go to destroy the Magnetic Stone Array, I will go get the Divine Tree Leaves, we will meet at the Holy Temple."
As soon as the words fell, Rah flatly refused, "Too dangerous, wait until the Magnetic Stone Array is destroyed, then I’ll take you."
Gripping Wen Shu’s frail shoulder, he tried to reason, but was gently interrupted by her.
"Trust me."
Her spine was straight, the sleek long hair covering her jaw revealing a hint of fragility, but those eyes gleamed brightly, displaying her current confidence and determination.
Rah was momentarily breathless, swallowing his words, his heart seemed to be struck by something sharp, accelerating inexplicably.
"Holy Temple defenses are weak, but inside the castle..."
The female calmly analyzed by his ear, yet he failed to grasp her words.
His gaze fell on her moving lips, only feeling each thumping heartbeat that threatened to drown out reason.
"Rah?"
A snow-white hand waved before his eyes.
Rah’s gaze landed on her slender wrist, boldly raising his hand to grasp it, "Wen Shu..."
The warmth of the wrist was delicate in his palm, he unconsciously caressed it twice, his Adam’s apple rolling restlessly, rambling as he sought permission, "I, I want to kiss you, may I?"
The passionate straightforward words crashed into her ears, making Wen Shu’s heart thump heavily, momentarily forgetting to resist.
"You..."
She reflexively prepared to refuse but when she lifted her eyes, she collided with Rah’s shimmering, fervent deep blue gaze.
The hurtful words stalled in her throat.
A glimmer of hope appeared in Rah’s eyes, he held his breath nervously.
Seeing the female’s translucent eyes slowly enlarging before him, his hands gripping the edge of the bed crumpled the bedding.
A fragrant aroma filled his nostrils, his heart trembled as he touched that softness, feeling as if he was floating in the clouds.
The female didn’t back away...
Laughing warmly with the corner of his eyes, Rah wished to venture for more, but was halted by a pair of hands on his chest, deftly pushing him away.
Wen Shu stepped back a few paces, evasively avoiding his suddenly disappointed gaze, then rose and sat at the table.
Rah, having just gotten a taste, stared at her like candy, his gaze sticking as she moved, clinging as he wished to sit beside her.
Reluctantly getting up but was stopped by the female, "Stay there, don’t come over."
"Huh..."
Rah moved sneakily, but was promptly met by Wen Shu’s sharp glare, whereupon he slumped back onto the edge of the bed.
The despondency didn’t last long though, as the corner of his eyes soon filled with laughter, he occasionally let out a low chuckle while rubbing his lips with his fingertips.
