The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 118: Fake Boyfriend Comes Home
When getting food, Jasper Yale was sitting at the table, watching Yelena Hughes run back and forth, thoroughly entertained.
Half the table was already filled by her, yet he didn’t move at all.
"What do you want to eat, Young Master? I’ll get it for you."
Jasper Yale wasn’t really hungry; he glanced at the table, there was everything from Chinese to Western cuisine.
Yelena Hughes didn’t discriminate—fries, chicken wings, egg tarts, steak with some salmon—mixing everything together.
She glanced at Jasper Yale’s expression, "Don’t you like it?"
Of course, he frequented high-end places, probably even with his private chef, why would Jasper Yale wait in line for a few limited-edition oysters?
It seemed that Yelena Hughes lost her appetite as well.
Jasper Yale looked at her not eating, "Why aren’t you eating?"
"Not really hungry."
He suddenly asked, "Has your younger sister been here?"
Yelena Hughes shook her head, "Not yet, but I’m planning to bring her and my mom here for her birthday."
Jasper felt a slight tug at his heartstrings. He was actually a very detached person, as if the seven emotions and six desires weren’t related to him at all.
Yet he picked up a skewer of beef from the plate.
The seasoning was heavy; eating the whole skewer might mean drinking quite a bit of water tonight.
"It doesn’t taste bad."
"Really?" Yelena Hughes peeled an enormous shrimp, so big that it was the size of her palm, though she couldn’t name it.
After peeling, Yelena placed the shrimp on a clean plate.
"For you."
Jasper Yale glanced at it, "You eat it yourself."
"I’ve still got more here."
Jasper stared at the shrimp, and Yelena handed him a pair of chopsticks, "This big, it must be delicious."
He didn’t agree with that.
"Some things aren’t tastier just because they’re bigger."
Jasper saw Yelena’s ears turn a bit red, and she guiltily glanced to the side. The others were so focused on eating that they didn’t seem to hear anything.
"What does the word ’big’ make you think of?"
Yelena quickly shook her head, "I was only thinking about the shrimp."
Look at this, Jasper with his noble demeanor and his chiseled, ascetic features—it seemed his pace was always faster, and if Yelena wasn’t careful, she’d be thrown off.
She really had a big appetite; Jasper had seen it before, but it was his first time witnessing Yelena eating at a buffet.
The plates had already been cleared twice, and Jasper had symbolically eaten some too.
He saw Yelena stand up, "All done?"
"I’m just getting started; I’m going to get some more."
Jasper waited at their table, hearing footsteps approaching, along with a voice, eager, "Young Master, so it was you! How neglectful of us."
The person bent over; Jasper glanced up, deducing it was the hotel manager.
"I’ve arranged a private room on the top floor. Would you like to head over now?"
Jasper searched for Yelena in the crowd and did not accept the manager’s arrangement.
"No need, we’re almost done eating."
"But how can you dine here..." 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Jasper saw Yelena holding tongs, not knowing what she picked, but judging by her stance, it looked like a lot.
"What’s wrong with here? It’s a place to eat, too. Don’t just stand here, go about your business."
If they changed to a private room now, Yelena would surely say she was full already. It seemed she rarely got the chance to indulge herself while treating others.
Jasper just wanted to see how much she could eat.
When they left the restaurant, Yelena walked very slowly, leaning against the wall while waiting for the elevator.
"I can head back myself, no need for you, Young Master, to see me off."
There was a group behind them.
Yelena heard Jasper’s voice above her head, "Did you eat too much?"
"No way!" Yelena hurriedly denied it, although truthfully, she was a bit uncomfortable now, with her stomach feeling bloated, but that didn’t mean he could call her out on it.
"I only ate until 70% full."
"I suggest you step on a scale when you get home; you’ve probably gained five pounds."
Someone behind them chuckled.
When leaving the hotel, Yelena didn’t get into Jasper’s car; she walked along the road towards the subway station.
She walked a while before noticing someone behind her. Turning around, a bit surprised, she asked, "Why didn’t you get in the car?"
"I’m taking a walk too."
"You didn’t eat much tonight, no need for a walk."
Jasper looked at her, seeing her expression, "You seem angry."
"I wouldn’t dare."
"Yelena, you only ate a few more bites, don’t worry about others’ opinions."
Yelena genuinely wanted to thank him, "Young Master, isn’t the essence of a buffet to pay and eat as much as you can? I’m proud of eating a lot."
"It surely is nice, but it’s late, don’t wander around outside; I’ll give you a ride back."
Yelena felt chilly, eager to get home and under her covers.
Reaching the entrance of her neighborhood, Jasper asked, "Is your mother home?"
"She’s home."
"Drive in," Jasper instructed the driver.
"Aren’t you afraid she’ll chase you with a broom?"
Jasper’s gaze moved to Yelena’s stomach, "It’s not a short walk to your house from the entrance, and it’s cold outside; I won’t go up."
Yelena felt a bit awkward. As the car slowly entered the neighborhood, her phone rang.
As soon as she answered, Lindsay Walsh’s voice came through.
"Yelena, are you on your way home?"
"Yeah, I’m in the neighborhood already."
"Why is your other phone off?"
Yelena didn’t want her family to worry, "Out of battery."
"Yelena..." Lindsay hesitated, "There’s a strange man at the house."
"What?" Yelena felt a shiver run through her, worried someone was causing trouble.
"Mom, are you all okay? I’ll be home soon, don’t worry."
As the car stopped, Yelena was in a hurry to get out, and Lindsay’s voice also reached Jasper’s ears.
"He said he’s your boyfriend. You’re really good at keeping a relationship secret."
Jasper’s face darkened, and the headlights illuminated the parking lot beneath the Hughes’ building; he saw a rather expensive SUV parked there.
Jasper quickly got out of the car, while Yelena said to Lindsay she’ll be home soon and hung up.
She hurriedly caught up with Jasper, "Young Master."
Yelena tugged at his arm, "I can handle this myself; you don’t need to come up."
"When did you start dating someone? How come I didn’t know?"
"Don’t say it’s just you; even I didn’t know."
Jasper’s expression softened a bit, "Is it Shawn Thorne? Are you sure you can handle it?"
"But if Mom sees you..."
Forget it, she couldn’t think about that now. Yelena could only nod. "Let’s go."
At the door to her home, Yelena hadn’t even opened it yet when she heard laughter and cheer from within.
She got out the keys, and stepping inside, she saw the entrance cluttered with stuff.
A dozen or so gift boxes, who knows what was inside.
Shawn Thorne smiled warmly at the two entering, "Ellie, you’re finally back."
