The CEO's Paranoid and Spoiled Wife-Chapter 849 - 846: Have You Burned Your Brains?
Chapter 849: Chapter 846: Have You Burned Your Brains?
"Hello, I’m looking for your store manager, Ji Muran." Shen Wenzhou said politely.
Xiaoqi was a bit surprised, sizing him up and down, hesitantly asking, "And you are?"
"I’m her friend. When I called her, she seemed unwell, so I came to check on her." Shen Wenzhou continued.
Xiaoqi had some reservations initially, but hearing that he even knew the boss was unwell today, she didn’t doubt him much.
"The boss is resting in the back room." Xiaoqi glanced over her shoulder; it was clear Ji Muran was in that direction.
Even though some customers were waiting to pay, Xiaoqi told them, "Sorry, please wait a moment."
The customers didn’t mind, so Xiaoqi looked back at Shen Wenzhou. "I’ll take you there."
"Thank you." Shen Wenzhou nodded slightly in gratitude.
Xiaoqi’s heart raced a bit faster, she didn’t dare to keep looking at him and quickly led him to the back.
The back area was not big; within a few steps, they reached the rest room Xiaoqi mentioned. Xiaoqi knocked on the door, "Boss, are you in there? May I come in?"
There was a brief silence before Ji Muran’s weak voice came from inside, "Come in."
Xiaoqi then opened the door but stayed at the entrance, "Boss, a gentleman claiming to be your friend is here to see you."
Ji Muran was already sitting on the sofa, and she had already noticed Shen Wenzhou standing behind Xiaoqi. She nodded calmly on the surface.
"I’ll get back to work then." Xiaoqi gestured outside. After Ji Muran nodded again, she quickly turned and left.
Now only Shen Wenzhou and Ji Muran were left in the rest room. Neither spoke, just quietly looked at each other, making the atmosphere a bit awkward.
Or maybe it was only awkward for Ji Muran since she couldn’t really see anything unusual about Shen Wenzhou.
Shen Wenzhou took a step forward and walked over to Ji Muran. The rest room was small, just a few steps and he was standing before her.
As Shen Wenzhou got closer, Ji Muran had to tilt her head slightly to look at him.
Finally, Shen Wenzhou suddenly raised his hand and placed it on Ji Muran’s forehead. His palm was originally warm, but when it touched Ji Muran’s forehead, she was clearly running a fever.
Shen Wenzhou frowned and stated firmly, "You have a fever."
"Mm." Ji Muran responded softly, indicating she knew.
"Why didn’t you go to the hospital?" Shen Wenzhou looked at Ji Muran.
Ji Muran couldn’t answer immediately. Why didn’t she go to the hospital?
Because it didn’t seem too severe in the morning, and by noon when she felt worse, it was the shop’s peak hour, and she didn’t have the strength to go to the hospital, thinking she’d rest for a bit first to regain some energy.
Then she received Shen Wenzhou’s call, making it even less likely for her to go to the hospital by herself.
"Why are you staring at me like that? Fever made you stupid?" Shen Wenzhou withdrew his hand and lightly tapped her on the head.
He felt a bit helpless, wondering why she was still sitting here dazed when her fever was so high.
"Let’s go, I’ll take you to the hospital," Shen Wenzhou said.
"Okay." Ji Muran agreed softly, her voice hoarse, barely more than a whisper as she spoke.
