The CEO's Paranoid and Spoiled Wife-Chapter 861 - 858 No Progress
Chapter 861: Chapter 858 No Progress
It’s only six-thirty right now, so Shen Wenzhou wasn’t surprised that Ji Muran could wake up this early.
Ji Muran runs two coffee shops, and she doesn’t just occasionally drop by to check; she’s great at baking and spends most of her time helping out with the baking.
Only recently, having enough money to hire staff, did Ji Muran stop getting up in the middle of the night to work.
Shen Wenzhou replied to Ji Muran’s message and then went out for his morning run.
It seemed like Ji Muran got busy as well after sending a few messages to Shen Wenzhou, and there was no more news from her.
After his morning run, Shen Wenzhou went home to wash up and change clothes, had breakfast, then headed to the office.
By the time Shen Wenzhou got busy, Ji Muran had just finished her hectic schedule. Their timings were the same, yet they were busy in turns.
"Our boss is thinking about a man again!" Wang Zimeng couldn’t help but shake her head in amazement as she passed by Ji Muran.
Ji Muran rolled her eyes at Wang Zimeng but said nothing. She was thinking about a man—so what?
Mr. Shen was at work. She had no idea if he was busy, and she didn’t want to disturb him with a message, so why couldn’t she think about him?
"Want to try the new brew?" Wang Zimeng handed her a cup of freshly made coffee.
Ji Muran obliged and took a sip but immediately frowned, "What on earth is this? Why does it taste so terrible?"
"Is it that bad?" Wang Zimeng looked puzzled. "It’s the new brew from the shop next door. I tried it yesterday, and it tasted the same."
Ji Muran rolled her eyes at Wang Zimeng again, "Their boss loves to experiment with weird coffee flavors. That’s why their business is failing, get it?"
Wang Zimeng blinked as Ji Muran sternly lectured, "Stop chatting with the neighbours all day! Focus on making good coffee. If our shop goes under, you won’t have a job anymore, got it?"
Wang Zimeng pursed her lips and said nothing, quietly taking away the coffee Ji Muran had tasted.
Ji Muran sighed and continued with the cleaning.
Lunch hour came, and the shop welcomed another peak period, with customers coming in waves and numerous delivery orders.
Ji Muran helped with the packing, busy and overwhelmed. By the time the rush ended, it was already past two in the afternoon.
Ji Muran looked at her phone, wondering if Mr. Shen had started working again. She wanted to send a message but was afraid of interrupting him.
She had said she would pursue Mr. Shen, but either he was busy or she was. How could she pursue him like this?
This continued for two days, and Ji Muran’s pursuit of Shen Wenzhou was just daily morning and evening greetings. There was no other action at all!
...
"Girl, how do you expect to chase a man like this?" Her best friend said, exasperated.
"But I have to go help in the shop early every morning. By the time I finish, Mr. Shen is already at work."
"He might be free during lunch break, but that’s when our shop gets busy. When I’m finally free, he’s busy again, and by the time neither of us is busy, the day is over!"
Ji Muran was also very frustrated. Although they lived only five or six kilometers apart, it felt like they were in different time zones, living different schedules.
"Money can’t always be earned, but if the man is gone, where will you find him?" her friend snapped!
Ji Muran didn’t know how to respond. This balance was hard to strike, wasn’t it?
