The floodwaters showed no sign of receding. Outside the earthen wall, on a pile of twigs and rotten leaves, one decayed and bloated white hand after another clawed their way onto it.

The zombies, flushed out by the flood but not yet dead, initiated their hungry attack.

Su Mo drew her Tang Blade as Lu Chen immediately ordered the superpower users below, all those with Combat Power lined up on top of the earthen wall to confront the zombies drifting over with the flood.

They climbed up using the remnants of plants and building debris, their skin swollen and whitened from prolonged soaking.

The other superpower users immediately understood his intention and hastily followed suit.

To halt such a vast flood and use the ice blocks to stop the cargo ship was a difficult task, but at the moment, it seemed like the best method available.

Under Lu Chen’s lead, massive layers of ice froze layer upon layer in front of the oncoming path of the cargo ship, stacking up one upon another.

Under everyone’s gaze, the cargo ship advanced rapidly, eventually crashing into the ice surface, the impact shattering a great deal of ice. The huge resistance halted the ship’s steady progress.

Su Mo watched the approaching ship with bated breath when suddenly, Jianxiong leaped down from the side. He stepped onto the ice with one foot and his body swelled as he moved directly in front of the ship, pushing against the bow with both hands. While being pushed back, he exerted all his strength in a forward push.

He roared through gritted teeth and, ultimately, when the ship was only two to three meters away from the city wall, it slowly came to a halt.

Everyone sighed in relief. Su Mo looked up at the massive vessel. Unknown when he had arrived, Li Qian stood beside her, scanning the entire ship from top to bottom with his spiritual power, then frowned and said, "The inside is not very clean, it needs to be cleared, but the ship’s arrival is well-timed."

He was right; the flood outside was like a vast ocean that stretched as far as the eye could see, and this ship positioned here could prove to be a lifesaving resource.

Lu Chen deactivated his superpower, looking somewhat pale. He tore open a spatial rift and appeared at the prow of the cargo ship.

He searched the deck for a while and then threw the anchor down.

The cargo ship thus stopped alongside the base.

It was laden with hefty containers, stacked one atop the other.

A large number of zombies poured out of the ship’s hold, and Lu Chen swiftly killed dozens with Ice Blade. Su Mo, wielding the Tang Blade, charged in next. These zombies were mostly intact in appearance and were generally of low level.

The two quickly finished off the zombies. Li Qian jumped over from the city wall, his spiritual power unfolding slowly.

Su Mo turned and asked, "What’s in the containers?"

Li Qian covered the entire ship’s hold with his spiritual power before answering, "It’s bagged stuff, but I can’t make out exactly what it is."

As long as there were no zombies inside, all was well.

Jianxiong also leaped over and forced open the door of one of the containers on the ship.

To their surprise, it was full of cement.

"It’s cement!"

They huddled in a corner, temporarily guarded by soldiers.
