The Civil Servant's Job is to Raise The Furries!-Chapter 129: Shining Gold Medal
Xu Ying gave a faint smile, dimples appearing on her cheeks: "This suspect, isn’t that a bit naive of you."
The police car leading the way stopped on the ground behind Xu Ying, and the rear door opened.
A majestic German Shepherd jumped out, followed by Chen Su, stepping down with his long legs.
When he got out of the car, he was like a thin, sharp blade, gently piercing through the scorching desert sunlight. His cool-toned uniform made him appear even more upright, like a tall bamboo.
Chen Su raised his hand to adjust the brim of his hat, and the metallic shoulder badge glinted coldly under the sun. His features under the brim were deep as ink, with a high nose bridge and a firm jawline.
The police colleagues followed behind him, their entrance exuding an oppressive aura of dominance.
Xia Man’s camera clicked, capturing the scene in a snapshot.
She then waved her camera in front of the already terrified Feng Qingdai: "Didn’t you claim not to know my equipment and lenses?"
"Now you know, military-grade manufacture."
Upon hearing the last four words, Feng Qingdai and Jeff felt a chill run down their spines.
It’s over!
Why would a military photographer be with Xu Ying?
They had assumed Xia Man was an amateur photographer with no background and had insulted her. Given Xia Man’s unique identity, if pressed, the charges would be even more severe.
Xia Man, seeing everyone’s expressions change like a color palette, sneered; this group would pay the price for their arrogance and snobbery.
She then looked down at the footage on her camera, nudged Xu Ying’s shoulder, and whispered: "Your Desert Police Station is really impressive, what a sight."
"Especially the captain with the police dog, he’s very photogenic!"
Xu Ying nodded in agreement, unable to resist being drawn to Chen Su’s handsome and upright demeanor.
Chen Su glanced at Xu Ying, nodded slightly in acknowledgment, then looked away and, with the German Shepherd, started searching the scene with his colleagues.
His apprentice, Kong Cheng, showed Jeff a search warrant: "We received a report of your illegal use of amphetamine products."
Kong Cheng intensified his tone: "Do you know the consequences? Severe cases could cost lives!"
Upon hearing this, Jeff’s face turned pale instantly, instinctively glancing at where they had placed the silver case.
This escalated from violating the Wildlife Protection Act to possessing illegal drugs under the Criminal Law.
The Lingsi Photography Team members were drenched in cold sweat.
They initially thought using such drugs on animals would at most result in fines or reprimands. Seeing the significant police presence now, they started to fear.
Now, they didn’t even have a chance to hide the small case.
The German Shepherd had already stopped in front of the silver case with syringes, sniffing incessantly.
And Jeff’s micro-expressions betrayed the problematic nature of the silver case.
"These are indeed amphetamines we brought, meant for use on animals."
His mind raced; faced with such a major scene, he didn’t bother lying, just focused on minimizing the repercussions.
Jeff pointed a finger at Feng Qingdai: "Officer, this photographer here requested us to inject the animals with amphetamines!"
Vivian quickly added, "Our team serves Miss Feng; we followed all her orders."
If they dragged Feng Qingdai into this, the Feng family wouldn’t stand by idly.
"Are you crazy? Why frame me like this?"
Seeing the photographers who previously praised her now collectively turning against her, dumping all blame on her, Feng Qingdai’s pupils dilated in panic as she experienced the dark side of human nature for the first time.
She was already crying from the fear of "facing a firing squad," her tears streamed down, ruining her makeup, her lipstick smudged: "Officer, I’m sorry, I truly realize my mistake, I shouldn’t have come to the desert to shoot without permits."
She sobbed, even bubbling snot: "I really didn’t know the consequences of using amphetamines were so severe, Lingsi Photography told me it was okay!"
In a short time, Feng Qingdai had experienced too much fright, her voice turning hysterical. Crying, she turned to Jeff, shouting: "Didn’t you often inject animals with amphetamines before? I thought it was tacitly allowed!"
A photographer pointed to his action camera recording the shooting process: "We’re not framing you; when you asked us for amphetamines, it was recorded on my camera. Don’t pretend to be innocent."
Watching this group turn on each other, Chen Su came over, handcuffing them: "We can discuss this further at the station, don’t take the police for fools."
"Don’t mess up Station Chief Xu’s award ceremony."
The armored vehicles and tanks had also stopped, and soldiers in camouflage uniforms orderly disembarked, lining up in two rows.
Two more soldiers came to check Feng Qingdai and others’ equipment.
Facing such a display, some photographers were so scared they couldn’t walk, collapsing like puddles of mud, needing to be dragged onto the vehicles by officers.
At this moment, Feng Qingdai and others were like dogs without a home, crying pitifully, their eyes filled with fear and worry, a stark contrast to their previously arrogant demeanor.
Ning Zexi flipped his stance, scanning these people, pacing in front of them with an arrogant stride: "Not bad, not bad, Boss Xu’s ceremony has a few more spectators."
Thankfully, he had the chance to experience the army’s award ceremony for Xu Ying during this mission.
"Come on, come on, it’s a joyous day, give us a smile."
"Just like in the desert area, some diligently catch spies to contribute, while others abuse animals and disrupt order; the difference is glaring."
"You lot, deserve it!"
Chief Qin, who had already gotten an update from Xia Man, came over with his secretary to greet Xu Ying and Ning Zexi.
"Comrade Xu Ying, looks like you and this rescue team member have achieved another feat!"
The soldiers accompanying Chief Qin applauded Xu Ying emphatically.
Xu Ying, embarrassed by this ceremony, touched her nose: "It was nothing, just catching bad guys as usual."
She gestured to the armored vehicles and tanks: "Uncle Qin, did you just finish training and come over with all this gear? That’s impressive!"
Chief Qin laughed heartily, "An award ceremony needs to be grandiose, and we need these big guys to show off, let the whole nation see the majesty of our Desert Area Base!"
Two soldiers came over carrying a medal box and a red envelope awarded to Xu Ying, with a bank card containing a fifty-thousand-yuan reward for catching spies inside.
