The Cockroach-like Girl Is My Beast-Chapter 454 - 417: A Premonition in the Darkness (Double-Length)
The shadow of the Black Crown above Lin Guang’s head quietly reappeared.
A considerable distance separated the person and the fox. He could only faintly sense that the little fox seemed to harbor feelings of conflict, as if it were making a difficult decision.
He was slightly taken aback and sent a thought over: "Little one, what’s wrong?"
Perhaps it felt the encouragement in Lin Guang’s spiritual power, the little fox hesitated for a moment, but finally mustered the courage to take small steps forward, stopping a few paces away from Lin Guang.
It raised its head, looked at Lin Guang, and made a few soft "chirping" sounds, as if trying to say something. Yet, its gaze flickered as if it was unsure about the message it was about to convey.
Lin Guang paused, stretched out his hand, signaling it to come closer.
Simultaneously, the power of the Heart of Terra, like invisible tendrils, gently made contact with the little fox’s consciousness, without any aggression.
Lin Guang, as if guiding, sensed the vague thoughts and past memory fragments the little fox was willingly conveying.
Some fragmented images surged into Lin Guang’s mind—
It was the main perspective of the little fox.
A very short, very low perspective.
In the perspective, it was chasing a colorful butterfly, inadvertently running out of the group’s territory, and got lost on a cliff with a relatively open view.
It was two almost vertical steep cliffs, with moss and scattered shrubs all over the cliff face.
At that moment, it saw a gigantic bird with an impressive wingspan, holding something in its beak, spiraling down and eventually disappearing between the two cliffs.
Out of curiosity, the little fox searched around for quite a while. Only from a specific angle, through the gaps in the leaves, did it faintly catch a glimpse of the scene below.
Between the two cliffs, about tens of meters below, a massive, somewhat irregular rock weathered by time stubbornly stood there, like a natural bridge. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
At the top of that large rock, there was an oversized and somewhat disproportionate bird’s nest.
The bird’s nest, crudely constructed from thick branches, some shiny metallic fragments, and fibers for added comfort, appeared rugged yet exceptionally stable on the boulder.
Due to the steep cliffs and the abundance of tree branches and leaves, it was nearly impossible to notice this hidden spot from above. Normally, a fox wouldn’t purposefully look down at such a perilous place.
The little fox curiously examined the bird’s nest, where some shiny things were on the edges and inside.
One of them seemed to resemble the pink, sequin-adorned item that Lin Guang had conveyed to all the foxes through the Golden Flame Spirit Fox’s intention.
But the distance was indeed too far, and the lighting wasn’t great. The little fox only got a quick glance and couldn’t fully ascertain what it was, only finding it somewhat similar. Moreover, the aura of the giant bird made it fearful, so it didn’t dare approach and quickly left.
Later, the lost little fox wandered in the forest but luckily returned to its group, though it couldn’t remember the exact location of the bird’s nest.
If it weren’t for the fact that the search had lasted an entire day and Lin Guang still hadn’t found the target, and if it weren’t for the grilled fish Lin Guang fed it last night, the naturally timid little fox wouldn’t have dared to step forward.
Memory retrieval ended there.
Lin Guang opened his eyes, a gleam flashing in them.
"On a big rock between two steep cliffs, there’s a giant bird’s nest concealed by trees..." he murmured, pointing out the key information.
Vishdair and Chelina immediately gathered around, and even Lisa perked up.
"What happened? What did it say?" Vishdair asked eagerly.
Lin Guang briefly recounted the vague information he got from the little fox.
"Outside the territory, and in such a hidden place? Still a bit unclear."
Vishdair shrugged: "But Feathered Beast... bird nesting? Seems to be a thing."
Chelina nodded: "Having a clue is better than none."
"..."
Lisa also blinked her eyes.
Though she didn’t have much hope initially, she listened quietly.
Lin Guang patted the little fox’s head, took out a piece of high-energy jerky, and handed it over: "Thanks for the clue."
The little fox made a soft "whimper," took the jerky, and scurried back into the forest.
"Let’s go check it out."
Lin Guang took out the whistle shaped like a golden feather and blew it with spiritual power.
A brief yet far-reaching whistle sounded.
In almost just a few tens of seconds, the majestic Thunderbolt Gale Eagle landed in front of the people and the foxes—it had already visited the valley once last night, so it wasn’t far away.
"Chirp, chirp, chirp—"
Many foxes who hadn’t seen it before were startled and scattered in panic, but most of those who had shared grilled fish with it last night weren’t particularly alarmed.
Lin Guang made eye contact with it, the diamond-shaped fragments on his head and the crown began to slightly rotate, directly conveying the recent memory images and his request to the great eagle.
"Please."
It nodded.
The four quickly took their positions as the Thunderbolt Gale Eagle soared into the wind.
Screeeech——————
......
At thousands of meters in the sky, the Thunderbolt Gale Eagle rapidly circled, searching for the images from the memories conveyed to it.
The eagle’s eyes were exceptionally sharp, not to mention it was a well-trained Tier Five, Purple Potential Spirit Beast nurtured by the association.
It found its target in almost just a few minutes.
"Is it there?!"
Vishdair, quick-eyed and handy, pointed down, and everyone looked where he indicated. Indeed, there were two steep cliffs, and greenery splayed between them.
Lin Guang decisively said: "Let’s go down and take a look."
