The Crazed Little Darling: Pampered by the Possesive Commander!-Chapter 373: Maybe Everything Is Predestined
Pregnancy makes everything inconvenient, and all previous plans were shattered by the arrival of the baby.
Counting the days, the Federation should have started school by now, right?
No, it should be said that the semester is almost over.
Her plan to change departments has definitely failed, and she doesn’t know if the teachers will expel her.
And there’s her older and second brother, who are in the Federation but she doesn’t know how they’re doing.
It seems like everything has paused due to the arrival of the baby.
"I want to return to the Federation," Su Ruan said quietly.
Lu Shinian held her hand and said seriously, "I’ve already sent people to find the Star Gate. Once we find it, we’ll go back."
"What if we can’t find the Star Gate?" Su Ruan asked back, "Do we have to stay here forever?"
She’s unfamiliar with the Empire. Although her mother is here, she still prefers the environment of the Federation.
"Ruan Ruan, don’t worry," Lu Shinian’s palms were warm as he transmitted his warmth to Su Ruan, "I’ve already agreed to cooperate with Zero. If we haven’t found the Star Gate by the baby’s birth, we’ll take the Zero Star starship to the Insect Domain."
"Then we’ll have Cheng Qingye send us back."
Lu Shinian had arranged everything already, which made Su Ruan reluctantly relax.
"Got it," she said softly, "I want to sleep for a while."
"Alright," Lu Shinian gently rubbed her hair, "Then Ruan Ruan, sleep for a bit. I’ll wait for you to fall asleep."
Su Ruan responded softly, laid down, and quickly fell asleep.
Lu Shinian quietly watched from the side, and once he made sure she was asleep, he got up and quietly left.
But what he didn’t know was that not long after he left, the previously sleeping figure suddenly woke up.
She sat up dazedly, looking around, seemingly not seeing the person she wanted to see. She propped herself up and walked out.
Lu Zhiya’s manor was large, and it was easy to get lost if not careful.
Usually, Su Ruan only stayed in her room, and the furthest she’d venture was the garden, so it was easy for her to get lost in the large manor.
By the time she realized, it was already somewhat late.
Su Ruan looked at the unfamiliar environment in front of her and blinked in confusion.
"Strange."
Why is this place absent from her memory?
In front of her was a small pond, with two lotus flowers planted in it, droplets of dew clinging to them, full of vitality.
Beyond the pond was a door, and what puzzled Su Ruan was that the door wasn’t locked, nor did it have a handle. If one wasn’t careful, they would think the door was just an ordinary wall.
At this moment, the door was half-open, tempting people to peek inside.
But the only way to the door was through this water-filled pond; there was no other path.
In other words, it was almost a dead-end.
Su Ruan stared at the door, her heart inexplicably racing faster.
A voice seemed to whisper, "Go in and see," "Go in and see."
Su Ruan stepped forward, and without realizing it, she reached the edge of the pond.
And she continued moving forward.
Half of her foot was already extended, about to step onto the water’s surface, when a female voice suddenly came from behind.
"Ruan Ruan."
Su Ruan’s body stiffened, and she turned to see Lu Zhiya hurrying towards her.
"Star Lord Lu," she called out and withdrew her foot.
As Lu Zhiya approached, she asked worriedly, "Ruan Ruan, why aren’t you resting so late?"
Su Ruan glanced back at the opposite side of the pond, where the door had disappeared.
Her eyes flickered slightly, she redirected her gaze, shook her head, and said, "I woke up, so I came out for a walk."
Lu Zhiya followed Su Ruan’s gaze and looked back, seeing nothing unusual, and frowned even more tightly.
"Ruan Ruan, don’t come here again."
Su Ruan looked at her curiously and asked, "Is there a problem here?"
"Yes," Lu Zhiya did not intend to hide anything, "This is a forbidden zone on the entire Wanling Star."
"A forbidden zone?" Su Ruan moved forward a couple of steps, distancing herself from the pond, and continued to ask, "Why is it a forbidden zone?"
Lu Zhiya shook her head, "I don’t know. Before I became Star Lord, this place was already a forbidden zone."
Su Ruan nodded thoughtfully, "It seems to be a very old forbidden zone."
"Aren’t you curious, Star Lord Lu, why this place became a forbidden zone?"
She was somewhat curious, anyway.
"I was curious," Lu Zhiya’s gaze fell on the small pond, "I couldn’t find an answer, and eventually wasn’t curious anymore."
Su Ruan followed her gaze, the water surface of the pond was calm and undisturbed, with only two lotus flowers quietly blooming in the center.
Dewdrops clung firmly to the circular leaves of the lotus, resting stably at the center.
Everything was static—though it appeared vibrant, it felt devoid of motion.
Almost as if... as if it was frozen in time.
"Did you see that door?" Su Ruan suddenly asked.
"A door?" Now it was Lu Zhiya’s turn to be surprised. She shook her head, "I didn’t see any door."
"Ruan Ruan, if you’re curious, you should investigate later," she advised.
"Now that you’re pregnant, if something unexpected happens, Xiao Nian will hate me."
Su Ruan nodded; for the safety of herself and the baby, she definitely wouldn’t act rashly now.
But she still noted this down, planning to investigate before leaving the Empire.
She felt that the door was enticing her to explore.
As the two conversed, another voice interrupted.
"Ruan Ruan!"
Anxious footsteps echoed in the space.
Su Ruan turned to look, only to see that Lu Shinian had somehow found his way here too.
He quickly walked to her side, holding her in his arms, watchful and slightly hostile as he looked at Lu Zhiya.
"I don’t know what matter Star Lord Lu has with my wife?"
Lu Zhiya stepped back a little, retreating beyond their safe distance, before speaking, "I just saw Ruan Ruan here by chance."
Su Ruan joined in, "Yes, we just happened to meet."
She tugged at Lu Shinian’s clothes, signaling him to lower his head.
Lu Shinian indeed lowered his head, proactively leaning his ear closer.
Su Ruan whispered in his ear, "Let’s go back; I have something to tell you."
Lu Shinian nodded, cast a warning glance at Lu Zhiya, and then left with Su Ruan.
After their departure, Lingling flew out from behind Lu Zhiya, speaking in a childish voice, "Ya Ya, that Ruan Ruan can see the door."
"Yes," Lu Zhiya looked towards the pond, which was just a wall, with no door whatsoever.
"Perhaps it’s all predestined," she sighed softly, her figure gradually disappearing into the darkness.
The gentle wind blew by without causing even the slightest ripple on the pond’s surface.
The time and space there seemed to be frozen.
