Chapter 180: Meteors Do Fall Twice

The meteor exploded into the ground, shaking the world and sending waves of blue flame alongside a powerful shockwave.

The trees turned into ash, the rocks and stones melted into lava, the sand transformed into glass, and all unlucky beasts and even the small insects burned instantly.

Anything that wasn’t affected by the flames had it worse, as the following shockwave was enough to crush most things or send them flying at the very least.

It was a shocking sight rarely seen. But at this moment, a meteor truly fell instead of burning until vanishing.

What was even rarer was for the meteor to aim at Raga himself, as though it was targeting him.

Which wasn’t far from the truth.

After the explosion ended, all that remained was a broken land of ash.

On the impact area, a massive hole with a glassy bottom was left where the meteor had landed, and the meteor itself was nowhere to be seen, as it had vaporised completely on impact.

From the ashes emerged a giant hand. It was an eagle hand that was covered with half-burned feathers.

The next moment, a wave of wind pushed all the ashes away, revealing the figure of the griffin demonic giant, Raga.

"Cough, cough!"

However, his condition wasn’t the best.

His clothes, fur, and feathers were half-burned, causing smoke to rise from his body.

But that was the least of his concerns.

Using the Vacuum Aspect, he was able to save himself from the heat. After all, the air was the medium through which most heat transferred.

And what was vacuum? It was the absence of air!

He still had to endure the heat at the start alongside the light flash, but he endured it with his defenses.

Not to mention that his first class ability gave him resistance to lightning, and that resistance included the high heat.

Though the light flash was the worst. His eyes were now blurry and barely able to see.

However, what came next was the worst.

It was the shockwave, and Raga had suffered from it.

He had tried to use the wind to split the upcoming shockwave only to fail partially.

His whole body felt broken. No, he might have broken some bones and ribs.

"DAMN!"

How unlucky should an individual be to be hit by a meteor? Raga couldn’t blame anything but nature for that.

Thankfully, he was okay. A small meteor wasn’t enough to kill him or cause serious damage. Although it would have been a different story if he had to face the meteor directly.

With no hesitation, he brought two potions from his storage. He drank the first, giving himself heat resistance, poured the second over his body, causing it to regenerate faster.

It would still need time, but he was okay with that.

After that, his figure blurred for a second before he disappeared. The next moment, he was standing at the spot where the meteor had landed.

"Did it die?" Raga frowned as he searched for the abyssal hunter.

He couldn’t sense the wind in this area anymore. The wind currents were in complete chaos, causing his second class ability to be useless.

Raga cracked his neck and sighed: "Let’s clear this place first."

With a single spell, the vacuum cleared his sight from all the ash and debris, working as a filter for air.

Next, he started clearing chunks of ash and debris covering the ground in search of the monster’s corpse.

The abyssal hunter was an ordinary Rank 3 beast from the Abyss. Its body was extremely valuable in making artifacts and potions that were useful for anyone who would like to visit the Abyss.

Thud!

All of a sudden, a body fell after an area was cleared.

Raga smiled. It was the body of an abyssal hunter!"

The abyssal hunter was in a miserable condition. It was smoking like cooked meat and its limbs were twisted at unnatural angles.

However, it still clung to life stubbornly. The abyssal hunter was actually alive! 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"You really shouldn’t be underestimated."

Apparently, the abyssal hunter wasn’t completely powerless. It had likely pretended to be so to prepare one final attack on Raga.

Maybe Raga wasn’t the only one who was affected by the meteor, after all.

With steady steps, Raga walked toward the abyssal hunter, preparing himself to kill it with his hammer, which he just retrieved from his storage.

Slash!

But the next moment, something unexpected happened.

A crimson slash with subtle black outlines burst out of the ashes and debris, cutting the abyssal hunter in half and heading toward Raga at an incredible speed.

For the second time, a strange phenomenon occurred so close to him. The crimson slash was as close as the meteor. Raga knew immediately that he had no time to evade that attack.

’Screw my luck!’

He had only one choice.

All of a sudden, wide cracks spread across the hammer in his hand.

As if it had its own life, the hammer moved on its own and attacked the slash like a missile.

BOOM!

The hammer exploded into the crimson slash, shattering instantly but taking the crimson slash with it.

Slash!

A second slash emerged from the ashes, but this time, Raga was ready as he already cast his spell.

In a split second, he had already moved fast enough to reach a safe distance. Without hesitation, he retrieved a new weapon from his storage, which was a giant axe.

’Did something else pass through the gate?’ Raga wondered while observing the area.

That slash wasn’t just caused by an intelligent being, that being was also a demon!

Raga was a demon himself. There was no way he wouldn’t recognize demonic energy!

"That was like half my demonic energy, you know."

All of a sudden, a familiar voice sounded through the air. The voice was a calming voice of a young man, but the intense fury and hatred in the voice could be sensed.

from the shadows, a familiar person emerged.

"You...!"

Raga’s eyes widened in shock.

How could it be?

The one who stood there was Dante, the boy that Raga had almost killed just minutes ago.

He had a crazy smile across his face, and his eyes were staring daggers at Raga.

However, he wasn’t the same person he remembered.

His body was clad with a strange black armor that looked like a layer of his skin rather than an external armor. It was like a scaled, segmented exoskeleton, as though a dragon and a centipede had merged.

He had a pair of giant black wings, and a sharp, long black tail moved freely behind him.

a segmented silver eye with a slit pupil, while his left one was as black as the abyss itself.

But the most noticeable thing about him was a hole in his chest that was healing rapidly, reminding Raga that it was indeed him.

After all, that hole was caused by Raga himself!

But Raga didn’t care about anything.

He didn’t care about the fact that Dante was injured and had burn marks, which showed that he endured a part of the explosion.

He didn’t care about Dante’s new form or the attack that he had just unleashed.

He didn’t even care about the silver Ether anymore.

There was only one thing that captured Raga’s attention.

Dante had a pair of strange black curved horns on his head. Above them, Raga saw a floating upside-down crown. That crown was decorated with gems. Five of the gems were dark-violet gems, and the last one was completely dark.

That crown...

"That crown..." Raga gritted his teeth: "How did you get your hand on it?!"

The war.

The whole war started because of a Crown of Existence.

And here Dante was, wearing a Crown of Existence in front of Raga casually!

"How...?" Dante narrowed his eyes and thought for a moment before responding: "There was a second meteor, a smaller one."

"Huh?"

Raga frowned. What did he mean by a second meteor? What did this have to do with the Crown of Existence?

And why did one of the gems suddenly turn black?

Just then, the place around him became brighter.

After looking up, he saw a flaming meteor coming toward him.

"..."

There was a second meteor.

BOOM!
