Chapter 155: 128_2

Zhao Li glanced at the thermos in Mo Junhua’s hand, a hint of regret flashing in his eyes, laughed a few times scornfully, and dared not ask for it. What a joke, no matter how delicious the food is, it’s not as important as one’s life; didn’t he see that the battalion commander’s look could nearly devour him.

Lan Tian seemed not to have noticed Mo Junhua’s icy demeanor, and kept urging him, "What are you holding that for, can’t you see Zhao Li is hungry? Hurry up and let him eat, it’s bad for the digestion to eat cold food."

Mo Junhua’s cold ’whoosh’ glares were thrown towards Zhao Li. Zhao Li shook his head awkwardly, he truly wasn’t hungry, truly he wasn’t, battalion commander, please look into my sincere eyes, I’d rather starve than say I’m hungry.

Zhao Li then turned to Lan Tian for help, military wife, stop pressuring the battalion commander.

Fine, let’s leave him be for now. Lan Tian glanced outside the ward, then looked at Mo Junhua and asked, "Have you eaten?"

Mo Junhua’s expression instantly changed, looking at Lan Tian with a harmonious gaze, he hooked the corner of his lips, handed the thermos to Zhao Li and sat down next to Lan Tian.

"I’ve eaten in the cafeteria downstairs at the hospital."

As soon as Mo Junhua sat down, Lan Tian stood up and walked outside the ward. The battalion commander, who remained seated, had a glint of deep light in his eyes as he watched and followed Lan Tian getting up.

With the battalion commander gone, Zhao Li breathed a sigh of relief; holy mother, he was scared to death. The battalion commander’s face hadn’t changed, but his presence was overbearing. Sitting here felt like having a mountain pressing on his chest, unable to breathe.

But it’s the military wife who is formidable, she managed to make the battalion commander so upset, and yet he wasn’t angry.

...

Zhou Yuwei didn’t expect to run into someone she knew in the Military District Hospital, and this person was Mo Junhua’s sister—Chunhua. She glanced at the man next to her, her face showing a flicker of panic.

She hated Tian Xianghua to death inside. Chunhua didn’t like her very much only because of that woman Tian Xianghua – always causing trouble. While she wasn’t around, she spoke nonsense to Chunhua, leading to Chunhua’s disapproval of her. If she saw herself with another man, she would surely look down on her even more and tell Mo Junhua, then Mo Jun would be even less likely to approach her in the future.

What to do?

Zhou Yuwei bit her lip, feeling at her wit’s end. She had lost so much already; she didn’t want to lose this opportunity. This man was hard-won, and if she misses this chance, she doesn’t know when such an opportunity would come again.

But, she didn’t want Chunhua to see.

The two were talking nicely, when suddenly Zhou Yuwei stopped and wouldn’t move. Chu Yang next to her felt weird, tilted his head to look at her, saw her looking panic-stricken at the opposite side, and curiously followed her gaze.

A country-looking girl!

After coming out from the doctor’s with information about Zhao Li’s condition, Chunhua walked toward the ward, not noticing Zhou Yuwei coming from the opposite direction.

"Chunhua, didn’t expect to bump into you at the hospital, what’s wrong with you?" Zhou Yuwei approached with a smile, looking concerned.

Blocked by a shadow on her path, Chunhua was startled, snapped back to reality, saw it was Zhou Yuwei blocking her and asked annoyedly, "Nurse Zhou, what do you want? The road is wide enough, why are you purposely blocking my way? What’s the meaning of this?"

Chunhua was filled with anger. She didn’t check the almanac before leaving home; she encountered a bad omen on her way out. Just as she was about to curse some more, a cold gaze fell upon her. Chunhua looked up and saw a man next to Zhou Yuwei, a young doctor wearing a military uniform and a white coat.

A flash passed through Chunhua’s eyes. She picked up a man so quickly? The military wives in the building were right; this woman is really indecent, her lifestyle is problematic, and she even claims she likes her third brother. Fortunately, her third brother doesn’t like her – whoever marries her will end up wearing several green hats.

Looking at them disdainfully, she turned and walked away.

What Chunhua didn’t know was that in his previous life, Mo Junhua didn’t just wear a couple of green hats.

Zhou Yuwei glared at Chu Yang in aggrieved anger, chasing after Chunhua to clarify, "Chunhua, my relationship with him is not what you think, really, you have misunderstood me."

"Nurse Zhou, whatever relationship you have with him has nothing to do with me, you don’t need to explain to me. I’m not close to you, it’s strange for you to pull on me like this. I have things to do, could you please get out of the way?" Chunhua coldly looked at Zhou Yuwei, her eyes sweeping over the hand pulling on her clothes.

Hearing the name Chunhua, Chu Yang realized who this country girl was – Mo Junhua’s sister – someone Zhou Yuwei constantly talked about to him, along with another woman’s name.

"Are you feeling unwell? Where does it hurt? Why didn’t you tell me, let me have a look." Zhou Yuwei continued rambling, holding onto Chunhua and looking at her complexion. Suddenly she let out a cry of distress, a look of annoyance on her face, "Ah! I know, did you go to the clinic, saw I wasn’t there and so came to the Military District Hospital for treatment? Ah, it’s all my fault, if it wasn’t for coming here, you wouldn’t have to run so far to see a doctor."

Chunhua looked at Zhou Yuwei as if she was looking at a lunatic, shaking off her hand forcefully.

"You’re the sick one, you’re the lunatic, your whole family are lunatics." An agitated Chunhua blurted out Lan Tian’s often used catchphrase in a moment of crisis.

After yelling, Chunhua regretted it deeply, heart pounding as she looked towards the door of the nearby ward. If Lan Tian came out and ran into Nurse Zhou, just thinking about the scenario of the two women meeting, Chunhua felt her head was about to explode and she wished she could kick Nurse Zhou to death to save herself the trouble.

"..." Zhou Yuwei stood there dumbstruck, shocked at Chunhua.

Her good intentions were scorned, and to add insult to injury, Chunhua even cursed at her.

Zhou Yuwei stared at her in disbelief, her pretty face turning bright red in an instant, unsure whether it was out of embarrassment or anger, her eyes quickly misting over with tears. She stubbornly bit her lip, looking back and forth between Chunhua and Chu Yang.
