Chapter 925: Raphael Meets Rowena

Raphael rushed towards the Merfolk realm to rescue Rowena because he thought that she needed help.

That she needed to be saved.... because he wanted to see her.

The Seventh Prince managed to deal out a favor that helped everyone including himself from being found out about by the King of Cretea.  It was why there was now such a huge surprise written all over his face when a loud explosion shook the palace of the realm.

Several members of the Water Guards hurtled into the royal hall along with a dark cloud of watery ink.  However, all of it only highlighted the appearance of the one person he hadn't seen in the past two years.

Rowena swam out of the hole in the wall with a large dose of adrenaline in her veins. She had a trident in her hands and a determination to escape the palace and return to Julian's side.

Was it a terrible idea to bust out of prison with three criminals from the mermaid realm?

Yes, it really was.

However, the trio proved to be quite powerhouses on their own.

She was glad.

Unfortunately, there seemed to be a huge mistake in where they ended up—the royal hall of King Urther was filled with other people.

They seemed to be powerful people even since they were not merfolks but they all could easily breathe underwater and looked comfortable being surrounded by the water guards.

"Oh fish, we might have come at the wrong time."

Rowena looked around for a chance to escape and make it out.

Raphael on the other hand—couldn't care less about the others in the group or the fuss.

He didn't pay attention to the sudden interjection of the other gods and even King Urther himself.

Right at that moment, as soon as his eyes caught sight of the beautiful girl, he thought his heart stopped beating for a while. The young god thought he was dreaming.

"Hey...." Raphael muttered to himself, dumbfounded by Rowena's presence. He wanted to greet Rowena and told her how happy he was to see her again after years, but he couldn't find any words to say.

He didn't think love at first sight was possible.  Especially because he had already seen Rowena before and watched her grow as Lucent.

However, now that he had seen her after such a long time and saw how she was now a fully grown woman, it left the Seventh Prince with an impression that shook all of his previous expectations.

Rowena was truly in complete control of her life and was willing to even band up with renegades just to escape from a royal palace.

The young god was floored.

Rowena's expression as she assessed the situation was charming and endearing in and of itself.

This was why it was terrible when the other gods sudden

ly intervened before King Urther himself could make a move.  The sea god and Nymia herself made water prisons.

"Hey!! Scoundrels!"

The sea god captured the trio of criminals in one flourish while Nymia caught Rowena.

It was a good plan, a great plan for someone who didn't want to give up.  The sea witch and the other two mermaids reassured Rowena that Ursula was more than capable of curing Julian even.

Unfortunately, they were outclassed.

"No!" Rowena struggled against Nymia's binds.

The other trio behind her also made their own attempts to escape which were foiled by the gods and left King Urther exchanging a look with Raphael.

"It seems that King Draco's child has no interest in sitting idly," King Urther remarked. "This is another violation against my realm."

Would it have been far easier if Rowena stayed in prison?  It really would have.  However, Raphael couldn't even blame the young woman.

He was just impressed and still in awe.  The Seventh Prince was so caught up in looking at Rowena, that even as she struggled in Nymia's binds… even Rowena noticed the look that young men who were enamored with her often gave.

This was something that she could hardly believe.  As their eyes met, Raphael cleared his throat and looked back at the king of the realm.

"Your Majesty…" he started.

"You've set free three criminals, child." King Urther swam towards Rowena with a look of disappointment. "It seems you truly are your father's child–not stopping at anything to get what you want."

Those words of comparison rendered Rowena frozen for a moment.

She stopped moving and she didn't even know what to say.

"I–"

Her words were drowned out by the king himself.

"Regardless of the consequences that were set before, you made your escape and you did all of this in front of my esteemed guests as well… It seems you wish to put into question the ability to rule my realm," King Urther continued.

Rowena bit her lip, hung her head in shame, and yet knew that if nothing happened right now–Julian would end up dying.

She had to do something.

Anything that might turn things in her favor. That was why Rowena took a deep breath and then finally looked up once again in Raphael's direction.

She had no idea who he was… but if he was some guest of the king, then surely he could do something? She gave him her best puppy eyes and tried to gain his sympathy by pretending to be a damsel in distress.

"P-please... help me..." she whispered in her melodious voice and her beautiful face was filled with an expression of worry.

Rowena hoped that the man got the message.  &

nbsp;

And luckily for her, he did.

"Your Majesty, it seems that there must be a reason as to why she did this, doesn't it?" Raphael feigned ignorance. "Shouldn't we try to hear her out? You mentioned something about this person looking for a cure, right?"

His friends became confused as to why Raphael pretended not to know but chose not to speak up.
