The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss-Chapter 146: Awakening
Chapter 146: Awakening
I know I can’t get out of here, the fighter and the swordsman are as fast as me and the mage’s barrier seems too troublesome to deal with.
When the flames finally stop, the swordsman advances, showing excellent coordination with his team.
[Dematerialization]
My body becomes intangible as I dematerialize, causing the swordsman to simply pass through me. I quickly deactivate the dematerialization and attack with my tail since he has his back to me it will be hard for him to defend.
Just as I was about to hit, I get thrown to the right after receiving an absurdly strong punch that dislocates my jaw, causing me to miss the swordsman.
’This fighter is a problem.’ I quickly use the trees as support to regain my position.
When I recover my position, arrows pierce my thighs and I’m hit by a punch in the stomach. Next, my feet are frozen to the ground and the fighter starts a sequence of punches all over my body.
’SERIOUSLY?’ The little girl wouldn’t be very helpful and would just die, and I don’t know what happens if she dies, so I can’t use her. I’m at a complete disadvantage.
Each punch is strong and heavy, causing real damage to my body. I try to think of what to do and how to access my true form, even if it’s only partially, as that would give me a huge power boost.
This group is ridiculously strong and well-coordinated, so they’re probably an S-class team due to their strength.
I use [Shadow Sculpture] to cover the entire floor with shadows, and then the shadows rise like thorns, forcing them to back away from me.
I use an extremely high mana boost and in an instant I’m in front of the archer.
The archer seems momentarily surprised, but quickly pulls out two daggers and tries to come at me. My punch throws him a few meters away while I use my tail to try to pierce the mage.
However, there’s a barrier around the mage that protects her. I turn back and advance straight at the swordsman, striking his sword with a sequence of blows, pushing him back.
The fighter advances to try to stop me, but I use [Dematerialization], causing her to pass through my body. She stops before hitting the swordsman, and I jump back, keeping my distance as I see the priestess healing the archer.
’Dammit...’ This is going nowhere. I’ll just slowly tire out as I take constant damage while they keep healing and attacking through coordination.
’Who to focus on...’ I think as I try to figure out how to use that black mud to truly transform.
Once again, the ground around me freezes, trapping my feet.
’How does this mage so easily conceal the mana of her magic?’ Of course, the swordsman and the fighter take advantage of the opportunity, advancing to attack me. The fighter is obviously the fastest on the team, allowing her to reach me quickly.
"..." I think about what I can do, and decide to try something I’ve never done before use an enchantment on a skill.
Nothing prevents me from strengthening skills using mana, and the cost will be higher, especially depending on the skill. But I need this because the situation is bad.
"Time... pass, but slow down, become one with the chill all around." I create an enchantment by accumulating mana in various words, and then use the skill [Path of Time]. Thanks to the enchantment, the area of effect became huge, but just that consumed 25% of my current mana.
"!!!"
A cost that I really didn’t expect, but it was perfect. No one else can do anything against me while time has slowed down, and the fighter who was so fast is now slow.
I break the ice and move normally, but just doing that has already taken a lot out of me.
’I won’t be able to kill anyone at this rate.’ Just taking a few steps is tiring. I think about how to at least cause damage to the entire team.
[Essence of Creation] [Shadow Sculpture]
I use two more skills, forming blades in various corners hundreds of knives surrounding all the opponents in the slow time. Not everyone here will be able to block this, so I also connect shadow threads to each blade.
When the [Path of Time] deactivates, the knives rain down on the opponents. The priestess didn’t take any damage because she was protected by the tank, who also didn’t take any damage. The mage and archer also didn’t take any damage due to the mage’s barrier, but the swordsman has some cuts and has knives stuck in him in a few spots, and the fighter as well.
Without stopping my attack, I use the threads to pull and throw all the blades towards me, forming a wall of knives. With a fine adjustment of the threads, I focus thousands of knives on the fighter.
The mage creates a barrier to protect the fighter, and as she does this, I advance directly at the mage, noticing a small weak point in her barrier. I shatter her barrier and pierce the mage’s stomach with my hand, unfortunately unable to focus on any other target.
The archer shoots several arrows at me, but I twist my hand upwards and turn my mana into magma, releasing this magma into the mage’s body, causing her to scream in pain.
I feel a blade pierce my throat and then pass to the right, separating about 70% of my neck.
I pull my hand back and retreat while regenerating my severed neck. freёwebnoѵel.com
The priestess begins to use magic to heal the mage.
’Seriously!? She can heal that?’ I literally poured magma into the mage’s body, and it seems the priestess’s healing ability is ridiculously high.
I even used magma because it interferes with healing and regeneration, but I don’t know how the priestess managed to get rid of the magma in the mage’s body that was absurd.
All 6 of them gather near the mage after she screams that she’s going to attack. They form a powerful barrier around the team.
"...?" I don’t know what they’re going to do, but soon I feel an absurdly large mana fluctuation. I start forming several barriers to try to protect myself.
Soon I see the mage break a relic in the shape of an hourglass, and suddenly a giant magic circle covers the area. A giant, blinding beam of light covers everything, shattering my barriers and dealing me massive damage.
I am crushed to the ground as the light begins to pulverize my body. It hurts so much to be hit by this.
I feel as if my body is coming apart. I use mana to try to resist. It’s obvious to me what this magic is it’s a magic used in wars, usually used to devastate large areas at once.
I never thought they would use an attack of such scale if it weren’t for my power increase. I would have died instantly.
I start trying to protect myself in any way I can, using a lot of my mana to defend. I think I urgently need to learn to form barriers correctly and distribute them well.
If I had a good barrier, I could withstand this attack. I try to get up and flee while the attack is happening, but even walking is difficult and all I see is white.
It doesn’t seem to be a sacred element attack, and I don’t recognize this element, so I’m not sure how to defend against it.
I just try to walk in any direction to take as much distance as possible.
’Mana?’ The only answer I can come to is that this is all mana, without any element a pure mana attack. That artifact she broke must serve to shorten the summoning time of a magic of this scale.
I don’t know why they’re so willing to kill me, and the answer that seems clearest is that they were sent by the guild because of the mage I had let escape, just to kill me.
They must have tracked the mana of the [Explosive Life] spell. I never thought the guild would really care about the death of just four people to the point of sending another group after me.
’I need to survive... I hate this... I’ll kill them.’ I won’t just be humiliated. I’ll never let a human humiliate me again. I’m going to show these vermin what hell is.
I’m going to make them regret coming to hunt me.
I stop trying to flee and start using my mana to access my mana path. I’m willing to abandon any control if it means killing those miserable insects who think they can kill me.
I let my body fall to the ground while I focus 100% of my concentration on my mana path, mentally traversing this path, delving deeper and deeper into my essence.
I don’t have time to just think about what to do I’m going to go deeper and deeper.
As I follow my mana path to the deepest parts, everything starts to darken. I find myself in the midst of the purest darkness.
I no longer feel that anger. I look at my pale hands that stand out in the midst of this darkness.
"Where am I...?" I start walking through this dark place. I can’t see anything, whether I look in any direction or even up at the sky it’s all just darkness.
The ground is also sticky and sticky.
"...It’s so... warm... and comforting." I lie down on the ground, which slowly sinks me in. I don’t despair, I just let my body sink into this darkness that slowly pulls me deeper.
Everything seems so calm and peaceful as I surrender any remnant of control I have and sink into this comforting darkness.
The darkness clings to my body, like a viscous, malleable liquid that is everywhere.
I don’t care about sinking, I just want to leave everything as it is while the darkness slowly swallows me.
[This is so good]
"This is so good"
[I want to go deeper]
"I want to go deeper..."
Both my mind and body are in complete harmony. It seems so right to set everything aside and just sink into this black, viscous, warm liquid.
With every second that I sink, everything seems slower and more comfortable, as if this darkness is grasping me and pulling me down.
I feel as if this darkness is slowly infiltrating my body, staining my body with this color.
It’s exciting and thrilling as a calm and euphoria I like emerge, a mix of feelings as I sink deeper into this dark place.
I just want to stay here and let everything happen as it should. As I stop sinking, the darkness becomes more viscous.
Soon I stop sinking completely as I lie in this dark place, and something resembling a "screen" appears.
"Is it... my vision?" I ask in a calm voice, seeing my vision in the third person, as if watching a movie.
It seems my body has managed to assume my true form, although it appears dramatically incomplete.
And it seems I really don’t have control I can only watch my body act on its own. But honestly, I don’t care.
I know well what my body feels it wants to kill as much as I do, it wants to devour as much as I do, and it’s as hungry as I am.
"Ah... this looks so delicious." I hear my body say, following my will as it looks at the humans who seem surprised to look at me.
