The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!-Chapter 46: Su Sisters!
Song Jinyu leaned back in her chair, her sharp gaze locking onto Lu Han’s.
"First," she said evenly, "have someone dig into Sunshine Trust. Every account. Every donation channel and every subsidiary project."
Lu Han straightened at once.
"I’ll assign a team to audit the trust and trace He Xiong’s financial flow."
"And not just the trust," Song Jinyu added. "All of He Xiong’s personal assets. Real estate, offshore accounts, shell companies—anything that may hide or move goods."
Lu Han nodded. "Understood."
Her eyes hardened. "I want to know what those so-called ’goods’ are. If they exist, they must have left a trail somewhere."
She leaned forward.
"Second—bring in everyone mentioned in Li Su’s testimony who’s connected to He Xiong."
Lu Han glanced up. "You mean—"
"His mistress," Song Jinyu cut in flatly. "Wang Cai. And Xiao Wuming."
Lu Han’s brows lifted slightly, "Those three?"
"Yes," she replied without hesitation. "Separately. I want inconsistencies, overlapping statements, pressure points."
"I’ll arrange the summons."
Song Jinyu’s fingers tapped once against the desk before she continued, "Wang Cai, in particular, is hiding something. A pharmaceutical company doesn’t discuss ’harvest cycles’ with a charity chairman for no reason. Threats to replace and kill... and the word bounty suggests dark-web involvement."
She paused, then added coldly, "Assign someone to investigate Wang Cai and all of his properties."
A trace of hesitation crossed Lu Han’s face.
"That may be difficult without a search warrant."
Song Jinyu rubbed her temples. "Proceed discreetly. Apply for a warrant the moment you have a lead."
"Yes, Captain."
Lu Han saluted and turned to leave—only to stop when her voice followed him.
"Send the Su sisters in. I’ll question them personally."
---
Inside the reception room, the Su sisters sat in tense silence.
Since hearing about the murder and being summoned by the police, the atmosphere around them had felt suffocating.
Su Menghao appeared relatively composed, but Su Roxue was visibly shaken. Just yesterday, Ye Chen had accompanied her while shopping.
’If I had known he was that dangerous...’ She clenched her hands. ’I would’ve stayed miles away.’
’No. I should’ve realized earlier,’ she berated herself. ’How could an ordinary person have such terrifying fighting skills?’
Regret and fear gnawed at her heart.
"Roxue, calm down," Su Menghao said gently, her usual icy demeanor nowhere to be found. Her voice was uncharacteristically soft.
"I’m fine, Sister," Su Roxue replied, forcing a stiff smile.
Su Menghao sighed and lightly patted her head. "You’re trembling. Stop pretending."
The fragile calm was shattered.
"I’m scared, Sister," Su Roxue confessed, her voice quivering. "I was with him all day yesterday. If not for Young Master Yang... I don’t know how long I would’ve stayed with him. Maybe I’d even be involved in that murder..."
The thought alone sent a chill through her.
Su Menghao’s hand froze mid-air. A strange emotion surfaced within her.
For the first time, she didn’t feel disgust upon hearing Yang Zhen’s name.
"It seems we owe him thanks," she said quietly.
Su Roxue nodded without hesitation. "Absolutely. I know you don’t like him, so leave it to me. I’ll thank him properly."
Her words sounded considerate, yet Su Menghao sensed something more beneath them—something she couldn’t quite put her finger on.
Before she could think further, the door opened. A female officer stepped inside.
"Ladies, please follow me. The captain will see you now."

Interrogation Room
Song Jinyu sat behind the desk, her expression calm and unreadable as the Su sisters took their seats.
"Relax," she said lightly. "This is a routine inquiry."
Her gaze settled on them.
"Tell me about your first encounter with Ye Chen."
Su Menghao spoke first, her tone steady.
"I met him outside the airport. A thief snatched my bag and tried to escape. Ye Chen stopped him."
"How?" Song Jinyu asked.
"He subdued the robber effortlessly," Su Menghao replied. "His skills were... exceptional. I needed additional security at my company, so I offered him a position as a guard."
Song Jinyu nodded and turned to Su Roxue. "And you?"
Su Roxue swallowed before answering.
"I was being harassed by a group of hooligans. Ye Chen intervened and beat them all. He saved me."
Silence fell.
A look of deep seriousness crept onto Song Jinyu’s face.
’Hero saves the beauty,’ she thought. ’Twice.’
Her fingers interlaced slowly.
"Both of your encounters," she said aloud, "follow the same pattern. Timed appearances. Excessive force. Perfect outcomes."
Her eyes sharpened.
"This doesn’t seem to be a coincidence. More like staged."
The color drained from both sisters’ faces.
"Staged...?" Su Roxue whispered.
Song Jinyu didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she shifted her gaze back to Su Menghao.
"You hired him," she said. "Then fired him within half a day. Why?"
Su Menghao replied calmly, without hesitation.
"He overstepped his authority. He severely injured several people."
"Do you know who they were?" Song Jinyu pressed.
"I don’t know them personally," Su Menghao said. "They were following Young Master Yang Zhen."
Song Jinyu nodded inwardly. It matched Yang Zhen’s statement.
"That was the last time you saw Ye Chen, right?" she asked.
"Yes."
"Thank you for your cooperation, Miss Su. You may leave."
Su Menghao hesitated. "What about my sister?" 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"I still have questions for her."
"I understand." After a brief pause, Su Menghao stood and turned to Su Roxue. "Don’t be nervous. Answer Captain Song truthfully. I’ll wait outside."
"Yes, sister."
The door closed softly behind Su Menghao.
Song Jinyu shifted her full attention to Su Roxue, her gaze sharp yet composed.
"Now," she said quietly, "let’s talk about everything Ye Chen said to you during that shopping trip... Even if it’s meaningless chatter, I want to hear it."
The pressure in the room deepened as Su Roxue started recounting all the details. This questioning continued for several hours before Captain Song Jinyu escorted Su Roxue back.
Su Menghao finally breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Su Roxue come out.
"Is there anything else, Officer Song?"
"No, that’ll be all for now. You may leave. However, the suspect seems intent on meeting with you. What do you think?"
"I have nothing to talk to a criminal. I hope he gets the strictest punishment, Officer Song."
"Based on the evidence we have collected. He sure will." Song Jinyu assured with confidence. Even if the case escalated a bit, Ye Chen’s crime is obvious, and he would certainly be judged guilty.
With the current public pressure, even having connections won’t help him.
