The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!-Chapter 78: Irritation!
"You did the right thing," Leng Shuang nodded seriously.
"There are all kinds of perverts out there in this world. They steal girls’ clothes, collect leftover food and even keep bathwater. Who knows what he wanted that hairpin for, maybe fantasising about your daughter."
The old woman’s eyes widened in horror.
"You beast!" she shouted at Lin Fan. "My daughter is only fifteen!"
"I’m not a pervert!" Lin Fan shouted desperately. "And I’m not a loli-con either!"
Unfortunately, nobody was listening.
"All criminals say the same thing," Leng Shuang replied calmly while dialling the police.
By now, a crowd had already gathered.
People pointed at Lin Fan while whispering among themselves.
"Disgusting."
"Trying to rob an old woman."
"Even pulled her clothes..."
Lin Fan’s face turned pale.
Inside the car parked nearby, Su Mo watched the entire scene with interest.
Right then, his phone rang.
*Beep.*
["Hello, Mr Su, aren’t you here yet?"] Lin Yaorui’s voice asked.
"I’m just outside your community entrance," Su Mo said casually. "There’s quite a crowd here. Apparently, they caught a molester thief, so it might take a moment to get the car in."
["Is that so?"] She replied.
["Then please wait there for me. I’m already near the gate."]
"Alright. My car is a black Porsche parked beside the cake shop."
["Cake shop? I see."]
The call ended.
Su Mo’s lips curved into a small smile.
He was actually looking forward to Lin Yaorui’s reaction.
After all, the person currently being surrounded by the crowd... was her half-brother.
’I wonder if Miss Yang would regret missing this show.’
Soon, the sound of police sirens approached.
Lin Fan tried to run. But Leng Shuang shoved him straight into the ground at the centre of the crowd, preventing any escape.
The police officers arrived quickly and assessed the situation.
One of them placed handcuffs on Lin Fan and pulled him to his feet.
Then the officer turned toward the two women.
"We’ll need you to come to the station to make a statement."
Leng Shuang nodded, but the old woman spoke first.
"Officer, could I give the statement instead? This lady has already helped me enough. There’s no need to trouble her further."
The officer considered it briefly.
"...Alright. One witness is enough."
The old woman looked deeply grateful.
"Thank you, girl," she said warmly to Leng Shuang. "If you hadn’t helped me just now... I can’t even imagine what that beast would have done."
She opened her purse and took out some money.
"Please take this."
Leng Shuang shook her head immediately.
"No, I can’t accept that."
Though she liked money, her Master’s instructions mattered more.
"I’m just like your daughter, Aunt," she said gently. "It wouldn’t feel right taking money from you just for helping."
"My daughter, huh..." the old woman repeated softly.
Her expression became warmer.
"Then at least take this as a small token of my appreciation."
She reached into her bag and pulled out a delicate, old metal hairpin.
Leng Shuang hesitated.
"But Aunt... if this belongs to your daughter, she might be sad that you gave it away."
The old woman waved her hand dismissively.
"She won’t mind. She’ll be happy knowing that it was gifted to a kind person who helped her dear mother."
She pressed the hairpin into Leng Shuang’s hand before following the police.
Soon, the crowd also dispersed, as there was no more excitement to watch.
When Leng Shuang returned to the car, she noticed a black-haired woman already standing beside it.
The woman’s expression was calm and distant as she watched the police car leave.
"Excuse me," Leng Shuang said politely. "Are you Secretary Lin? I’m Leng Shuang—Master Su’s secretary."
Lin Yaorui shifted her gaze toward her.
"Yes," she replied with a slight nod. "Hello, Secretary Leng."
"I saw what happened just now," she added. "You’re a very righteous person. It’s a pleasure to meet you."
Su Mo leaned his head out of the car window.
"You two can continue your introductions inside. We’re getting late."
They both nodded and got into the car.
Su Mo glanced sideways at Lin Yaorui, sitting in the passenger seat.
He frowned slightly.
’What’s with that reaction?’
He was certain she had clearly seen Lin Fan’s face because his mask was off the entire time.
But her expression was almost indifferent.
There was no shock or disbelief that he expected.
Only a faint frown, as if she had just witnessed a stranger being arrested.
’Shouldn’t she be shocked that the half-brother she dotes on turned into a thief and molester?’
’Forget it,’ Su Mo thought. ’Maybe she’s just good at hiding her emotions.’
What he didn’t know was that his guess was actually very close to the truth.
Lin Yaorui was indeed good at hiding her emotions. When she saw Lin Fan just now, countless feelings surged through her heart. Shock, disappointment, sadness, anger, disgust.
But she suppressed them all.
Because she understood something clearly.
Lin Fan doesn’t even treat her as his sister.
No matter how much she tried to help him now, he would only respond with resentment and hostility.
She wasn’t some naïve little girl who would chase after someone who clearly didn’t care.
And what he did today...was truly too much. Which made her choose to remain silent.

Meanwhile, back at the villa.
Inside her personal gym, Yang Qingxi was practising boxing.
Her fists struck the punching bag again and again.
Thud.
Thud.
Thud.
There was no elegant posture or precise technique.
She was simply venting her frustration.
Fortunately, she had ordered the butler to replace the old sandbag with a much stronger one filled with iron sand.
Otherwise, it would have been destroyed already.
After several minutes of relentless punching, Yang Qingxi finally stopped.
She was breathing heavily.
Sweat clung to her forehead.
Without caring about her image, she simply sat down on the floor.
The scene at breakfast earlier replayed in her mind.
Her brows tightened.
"So annoying..."
She didn’t even know why she felt irritated.
’Is this what they call the natural incompatibility between the villainess and the heroine?’
The thought crossed her mind briefly.
At that moment, a series of system notifications suddenly rang out in her mind, startling her.
[Ding!...]
