Chapter 84 - Gabriel: The Final Fire

Flames rose through broken space. Blackened skies swirled like oil above the shattered remains of a world that once knew laughter.

Gabriel stood alone.

A single floating island spun slowly through the dead air, littered with bones and the last breath of the earth. No birds. No wind. Only the echo of war.

Around him were the corpses of the Dead Clan — Phill, Aror, Atlas — all defeated. Their blood soaked the sky and dried midair. Crystallized memories.

He was trembling, his fists cut open, his breath shallow.

But he was still standing.

"Come out," he whispered.

A soft laugh curled through the air like smoke.

From a splinter of darkness, Vaneshka emerged. Her cloak fluttered unnaturally. Her hair swayed as if underwater. The blood that fueled her powers seeped up from the cracks of the land, wrapping around her wrists like silk.

"You're the last," Gabriel said. His voice was low. Flat.

Vaneshka floated inches above the ground.

"The last?" she smirked. "No, no, Gabriel. I'm the beginning. I will recreate the world with ash. I will be its new heart."

"I'll crush that heart."

She smiled wider, eyes burning red.

"You can try."

Then the battle began.

She summoned blades from the blood of the slain. They danced like insects, slicing the air, faster than lightning.

Gabriel dodged — barely.

Each step he took shook the floating land. Every punch sent ripples through the debris of the broken sky.

She struck.

He bled.

He struck.

She cracked.

Gabriel's fist collided with her ribs. She twisted in midair, coughing up red petals, and laughed.

"You fight like a god, boy—"

"I fight like a man who has nothing left," Gabriel growled.

Their fists met in the air, shattering the space around them. Gravity blinked. The stars tilted.

And then—

She threw him.

He slammed into the edge of the floating landmass, barely catching himself.

Blood dripped from his lips.

Vaneshka floated above him, her arms wide.

The Blood Titan, weakened but alive, rose again behind her. A final echo of doom.

"Goodbye," she whispered, forming a new blade in her palm.

But something inside Gabriel snapped. A soundless rage. A flame deeper than hate.

He got up.

And he ran.

No powers. No weapons.

Just fists.

He jumped—grabbed her midair—and punched her face with everything he had left.

And again.

And again.

Until the blade fell.

Until her blood froze midair.

Until her body gave out.

"No," she whimpered. "I am the queen—"

Gabriel's fist cracked her mask.

"You're a monster."

His next blow shattered her ribs.

"You killed Matt."

Another.

"You hurt Margo."

Another.

"You ended everything!"

One final punch — his knuckles burned as her core shattered.

She gasped.

And then she smiled.

"Then I guess... you get the last word."

Vaneshka's body began to break — not in gore — but in rose petals.

They fell soundlessly, carried by a wind that no longer existed.

She looked at him one last time, eyes dimming.

"...I see why she loved you."

And then she was gone.

The Blood Titan let out a scream so loud the stars flickered—

And collapsed into itself.

Gone.

The floating land tilted. Gabriel stood at its edge. The sky now a quiet graveyard of stars.

The island slowly rose higher and higher...

Until he was drifting into space, alone.

Frozen in silence.

Alone with the petals, the stars, and the echo of his fists.

The sky was not a sky anymore.

It was a wound.

A rip across the heavens, spilling light and ash from the broken Creation World above.

Margo stood with her arms wrapped around herself, trembling. Her face was stained with dust and salt. Tears blurred the horizon, but she could still see the truth—

Gabriel was gone.

Beside her, Xyrille stood in silence, the black wings on her back folded tight like broken arms. Her eyes—once full of rebellion—were now dim. She watched the shards of the old world fall, like burning snowflakes.

And behind them, Zeze clutched her blades but said nothing.

Above them, the sky cracked again.

BOOM.

A deep echo rolled across the air, and then came the debris—massive, jagged pieces of land and castle towers raining down from the heavens like dying gods.

The wind howled.

"Margo..." Xyrille whispered, voice hoarse. "We have to go."

Margo didn't move.

She stared upward, to the hole in the sky, to the place Gabriel once stood.

"I can't," she said, barely audible.

Zeze's shadow crossed them.

"I'm not dying here," she muttered. "Not again."

Without another word, Zeze turned and ran—down the hill, across the broken field, her silhouette swallowed by smoke and falling light.

Margo didn't follow.

A flaming stone slammed into the ground behind them, sending a wave of heat that seared their backs.

"Margo!" Xyrille cried, grabbing her hand.

More explosions shook the earth. The ground cracked like glass.

Margo looked at her. Her lips parted to say something—

But a piece of burning debris, the size of a house, came spinning down from above.

Xyrille's eyes widened.

"MARGO—!"

She yanked her forward, but it was too late.

The chunk of stone and fire crashed down between them with a sound that shattered the air.

Dust.

Flames.

Silence.

Xyrille coughed and stumbled backward, covered in ash and rubble. Her hand reached forward, shaking—

"Margo...?"

There was no response.

Tears poured down her face. "No, no, no—"

She crawled toward the wreckage, her fingers bleeding from the jagged rocks.

And there, half-buried under the burning stone—

Was Margo. freeweɓnovel.cøm

Her eyes still open.

Still glowing.

But still.

"Gabriel..." Margo whispered, her voice like broken glass. "I... I saw him... up there..."

Her hand trembled upward, reaching for the sky. For him. For anyone.

But it fell.

Xyrille screamed. She shook her. She called her name again and again.

But Margo didn't move.

All around them, the last pieces of Creation World fell in silence.

Only one girl remained, kneeling in the wreckage, as the stars blinked quietly behind the smoke.
