The Devil's Warrior Queen-Chapter 216: Dark Sorceress
Chapter 216: Dark Sorceress
As they both ventured down into the labyrinth of corridors, they emerged out into a dark empty hall, devoid of any real light except the moon’s which surprisingly lit up the dark room as streaks of moonlight filtered through the window.
"What a lovely surprise." A drawled hauntingly melodious voice echoed through the air from within the cold darkness, it made Rama’s breath hitch as she looked around, but even with her heightened senses, she couldn’t catch a glimpse of who it was.
"Thallasa, why are you hiding in the shadows? You’re not a night creature now, are you?" Draco queried sarcastically with a smirk curving his lips up, but even with his sarcastic approach, the callous intensity in the air was palpable.
A soft, spine chilling cackle emanated from within the darkness. It was as though she found his words amusing, but it was an empty laughter, devoid of a whiff of emotion in it, simply dead and cold.
Slowly, the woman emerged from her hiding place, it seemed as though her form had been created out of the darkness itself as the dim light of the moon basked her form.
"You’ve been hiding in a human kingdom, sorceress? Not only that, you became their queen?" Draco pointed out and she sighed.
She was an ominous beauty of a dark sorceress, a haunting figure draped in cascading midnight robes that seemed to absorb the very light around her. Her gaze, an abyss of absolute darkness, is devoid of whites or pupils, a pair of unrelenting obsidian pools that pierce through the soul with an unsettling intensity.
Waves of wild, midnight-black hair cascaded around her, flowing like serpents of the night, slithering behind her in an untamed dance that seems to have a life of its own. These tendrils of darkness writhe and twist, occasionally lashing out as if reaching for something unseen, adding an unsettling aura to her presence.
Her face, adorned with an otherworldly beauty, betrays a maniacal gleam in those unfathomable eyes. A sinister smile, devoid of warmth or humanity, curls upon her lips, hinting at the depths of her arcane power and the chilling delight she finds in wielding it.
With every step, the sorceress exuded an aura of darkness that blankets her surroundings, casting an ominous shadow upon the very air. Her very being resonates with an unearthly energy, an unsettling force that whispered ancient secrets and ominous prophecies, leaving all who encounter her with a shiver down their spine.
"What’s so surprising about it? You killed every last one of us, but fortunately my ancestors were wise enough to preserve their powers and I became worthy enough to wield it." She hissed, her dark aura slithering through the darkness. The presence around her seemed to pulsate with melancholy and an unfathomable power, it made Rama’s skin crawl, more so when her gaze met hers. The maniacal glint in her sadistic eyes made her breath shudder.
"No wonder I could smell those cranky old bastards off of you, you fucking ate them." Draco laughed heartily as he realized the situation before him, he had lived long enough to realize that no amount of souls she had devoured over the few years she lived would be enough to keep her alive within hours after possessing the souls of her ancestors.
It was only a matter of time before nature took its course.
Ignoring Draco’s remarks, her gaze flitted past Rama but it lingered murkily on her as she said "Is this your mate?"
Rama could feel the cold sweat break across her forehead when her gaze settled on her, it made her blood run cold, and the air sparked with a perceptible dreary charge.
"Enough talking, time to send you to your ancestors." His voice echoed in a guttural growl.
Thallasa’s gaze broke from Rama’s as she averted it back on Draco, they maintained eye contact for a moment, with each breath the earth took, the air rose with dark tension and their auras clashed.
With a force that made the ground quake and crack, the two dark forces collided and a glottal wave of energy reverberated through the air.
Rama backed away from the fight while she watched from a secluded corner as the two malevolent forces. Runes etched in the air, flared with each strike as they released bursts of power.
Seizing the dark sorceress by the throat, he ripped her flesh open with his claws, blood jetting out of it, but in the next second, the wounds closed up. His brows furrowed but her lips tore into an impish grin at the display.
Weaving dark powers from the depths of hell’s embrace itself, she encompassed Draco’s form in a vortex of perilous darkness, smoky tendrils danced around the tip of her fingers and within a millisecond, he was ensnared in the grip of infernal darkness, while an obsidian spike manifested in her grasp.
Watching the scene unfold, Rama utilized her inhumane speed as she drifted across the room toward the dark sorceress in a bid to stop her, but within a few inches away from grabbing her with hands extended to her neck, her movements were restricted with the spike slicing through her flesh.
Gasping heavily, she slowly looked down to see her impaled abdomen with the spike shooting out of her back.
"You’re lucky I missed." Thallasa said in a low voice before viciously pulling the spike out.
Rama gagged as she fell on the floor, blood spurting out the wound, but slowly, it healed, as her flesh stitched itself back together.
The dark sorceress’s eyes squinted darkly as she watched her heal, but as she lunged the spike at her head, Draco broke from his dark entrapment as he seized her by the neck and flung her to the other side of the room. She crashed into a pillar, debris of rocks burying her but Draco was well aware that rocks couldn’t kill her.
Crouching down to Rama’s level, his eyes darted to her healing wound and back to her face as she wheezed heavily.
"Rama, you’re fine, take a deep breath." He said in a rushed tone as he cupped her face and she nodded, trying to breathe as he said.
"Go on, don’t try to join in, stay far away, please..." He pleaded with a low voice, his eyes reflecting worry, but as soon as his eyes narrowed to Thallasa as she emerged out of the rocks, he stood in front of Rama acting as a shield while she dragged her feet to a secluded corner.
Silently, Rama swore she wouldn’t interrupt their fight again, the pain was like a searing burn that spread all over her body, and besides he was immortal.
As Thallasa stepped out, a maniacal glint flashed into her eyes as she cackled loudly if amused by his relentless effort to kill her. T he Devil’s son, cloaked in darkness, clashed with the formidable sorceress, her sorcery painting the air with crackling lightning. A dance of spells and hexes illuminated the dim chamber in vibrant hues of crimson and sapphire as it infested the air with the darkness of her sorcery.
The sorceress as she moved with a sinister wildness, her robe billowed like ethereal wings, casting luminous orbs of arcane brilliance, countered by Draco, whose form flickered amidst shadows, wielding wicked tendrils of abyssal energy that scorched the air and once it came in contact with her flesh, it would burn with a fiery radiance, but like the Phoenix bird, she would rise from the ash, leaving Rama in awe and dread at the tremendous power she retained.
She couldn’t help but become agitated at the probability that they might not be able to defeat her, it was apparent the dark sorceress was immortal but somehow, Draco seemed to be surprisingly confident even though it was evident that she couldn’t die.
In a state of frenzy, she watched the battle commence.
Thunderous booms reverberated, punctuated by the sorceress’s incantations that echoed melodiously yet carried a chilling authority. The clash of powers produced a symphony of crackling energy and the resonant clang of ethereal blades meeting, reverberating through the ancient stone walls.
Waves of searing heat rolled from the devilish aura of Draco, contrasted by the icy tendrils of the sorceress’s magic that sent shivers through the air. The ground quivered beneath their feet with each unleashed force, causing the very stones to tremble in anticipation of the outcome.
As they moved with an unseen force propelling their bodies and possessing their limbs, streaks of blood drifted in the air like a mesmerizing dance of crimson silk floating, but when it caught the light of the moon, it seemed like blood diamonds spraying in the air as it glimmered in the otherworldly glow of the moon.
A metallic tang lingered in her tongue, as if the clash of their powers had infused the air with the taste of lightning, while a subtle bitterness teased the palate, perhaps the residue of mystic herbs interwoven in the sorceress’s spells.
The battle exuded an intoxicating blend of charred ozone, a lingering perfume of arcane essences, and a faint undercurrent of brimstone, a testament to the unearthly origins of their powers.
Amidst the chaos, their battle unfolded like a mesmerizing tapestry, each combatant weaving intricate patterns of destruction and defense. It was a struggle where the very fabric of reality seemed to fray at the edges, leaving an indelible mark on the ancient fortress as their powers collided in a tempestuous whirlwind of supernatural might.
Rama was high on anticipation of what would happen next, her blood heated with suspense while she interlocked her fingers, trapped in a desolate nightmarish trap. Staying still and unable to do anything was even more unnerving than joining the fight.
She wanted to help, but Draco told her to stay put, he could handle it anyway.
