The Dirty Affairs of a Vampire and His Horny Stepmom-Chapter 101: Kimberly’s first and only love
Her eyes...
N-No... this can’t be real. Kimberly can’t actually be a vampire!
«Judging by your silence and that expression, I’d say you’re pretty shocked,» she sneers. Then she opens and closes her eyes again, and they’re back to their usual emerald green.
«Yeah, no shit — I’m shocked!» I snap. «But how the hell is that even possible?! I’ve seen you use Sacred Light with my own eyes, more than once, and John told me that’s a power only a very small group of humans are born with! None of this makes any sense...»
«Oh, it makes perfect sense. The fact that I’m a vampire now doesn’t mean I was never human before. I was human up until exactly two years ago. Seriously, didn’t you ever notice anything strange? My strength, my speed... hell, I followed you every single night! Did you really never wonder how I managed to keep an eye on you all that time without ever sleeping?»
Now that she points it out, it all clicks into place. Her physical abilities, terrifyingly beyond those of a normal human, had left me speechless even before I found out she was a Monster Slayer. I still remember the record time she clocked in the hundred-meter dash, how much her blows hurt, how sharp her reflexes were... but damn it, I’d just assumed that was normal for a Monster Slayer! Clearly it isn’t — otherwise I wouldn’t have managed to take down that Monster Slayer who attacked me and Melania with relative ease.
«Aren’t you curious to know how it happened?» she asks.
«Is this just a way to stall and distract me from the idea of having sex with you?»
«Also that,» she admits with a teasing smile.
«I appreciate the honesty... anyway, now that I think about it, since when can a vampire turn a human? I thought that was horror-movie bullshit — something that shouldn’t be possible in reality!»
«Well, clearly you’re wrong, and I’m living proof. Or rather, only one vampire house has that ability. The Volkoms — the dynasty that rules the kingdom of Mildelar.»
«Oh, so it was someone high up who turned you?»
«Yeah — are you curious now?»
«No, but since we need to kill time until one o’clock and you clearly don’t intend to have sex, I’ll listen to how you were turned. Definitely more interesting than sitting here staring at trees,» I mutter. Though, to be honest, I really am interested — not so much in the transformation itself, but in learning more about my own race and those who rule it.
«The one who transformed me was none other than Mia Volkom herself, the current queen of Mildelar... and the woman who stole my heart, the one I love more than anything else in the world,» she begins.
That alone is enough to completely shatter me.
Finding out Kimberly is a vampire is already shocking enough... but that the love of her life is a woman? One bombshell after another. Now I finally understand why she never showed the slightest sexual interest in me!
«I-I think I misunderstood...»
«Oh no, judging by your face, you understood perfectly,» she replies with an amused smile. «The one I love is the vampire queen Mia Volkom — an obviously mutual love, though one broken by distance. Unfortunately, her role as queen and mine as a Monster Slayer prevent us from living that love openly, but Mia will always live in my heart. My soul and my body will belong to her forever.»
«Your soul and your... body? Kimberly, don’t tell me that—?»
«What’s wrong with that?» she snaps, offended. «You’ve had sex with who knows how many hundreds of women, while I only had sex with her, and only once, before she took the throne. Honestly, I don’t see what the problem is.»
«And all that talk about saving yourself for the right person? Damn it, you sounded like a total virgin! A vampire, in love with a woman... and you already had sex two years ago?! What next — are you going to tell me your first and last time was a threesome?!»
She blushes slightly and smiles.
«It almost was, actually — but thankfully it wasn’t. Anyway, since you seem interested, I’ll tell you how it happened.»
Damn it, this feels like one of those nights where best friends gossip about their first times...
«Fourteen years ago, there was a violent coup d’état in the kingdom of Mildelar, and the Volkom family was completely wiped out. Or so everyone believed. Mia had been smuggled to safety by her governess, and they both fled to Earth. To prevent their escape from dragging vampire armies here to finish her off, HESPARC decided to solve the problem at the root by eliminating Mia Volkom before things escalated. Two years ago, that task was assigned to me. Mia was extremely cautious, and her governess — a vampire of terrifying strength — never let her out of her sight. So my plan was to spend as much time with her as possible, earn her trust, and get her to lower her guard. Since we were classmates, it wasn’t difficult. But in the end... I fell in love with her. Crazy, right? And yet, I’d never been attracted to girls before, and I’m not even now — but Mia is Mia.»
Tears stream down Kimberly’s face as she speaks. «I’d give my life for her, and that’s why I insisted she turn me into a vampire — so I’d be strong enough to fight at her side against those who wanted her dead. Embracing that power is the greatest dishonor imaginable for a Monster Slayer and a follower of the God of Light like me, but I’d do it a thousand times over. Because thanks in part to my sacrifice, Mia is now safe and has reclaimed the throne of the kingdom that was taken from her by force fourteen years ago.»
«You’ve really been through a lot for someone who’s only eighteen,» I reply, trying to lighten the mood.
«Well, I guess that’s normal for a Monster Slayer,» she says with a faint smile.
Then she starts staring at me intently, leaning her face closer to mine.
«Now that I look at you more closely... you know you really resemble her? And I don’t mean just the fact that you’re both vampires. Your eyes when you use your powers — they turn the same vivid red as hers. And the shape of your nose, the cut of your eyes, your hair color... if you grew it down to your waist, you’d probably be her spitting image. Yeah. Two peas in a pod...»
Her voice grows softer, warmer. Her face is red as a tomato.
«J-Jace...» she stammers. «W-When you said you wanted to have sex with me before going to John... were you serious, or were you joking?»
«O-Of course I was serious — what kind of question is that?!»
«M-Me too...» Kimberly says, her face now even redder than a vampire’s eyes. «I-I want to do it too...»
