The Disdained Luna Who Rose Alone-Chapter 127 Summit Industries Goes Bankrupt
Calvin’s POV
When I saw the news trending, I knew Summit Industries was done for.
I had been watching everything unfold from my hotel suite, stuck here because of a major acquisition that couldn’t wait.
Evelyn was getting torn apart online while I was trapped halfway across the world.
I scrolled through my phone, looking at the photos they had posted everywhere. Someone had badly photoshopped pictures of Evelyn with random men and added disgusting lies about her.
My hands clenched around the phone. I wanted to punch something.
A knock at the door.
"Come in," I called out.
Beta Zeon walked in with serious look.
"Alpha Calvin, we took care of everything like you asked," he said, standing straight by my desk. "All those fake posts are gone from every website."
I put my phone down and rubbed my forehead. "What about Evelyn? Is she okay?"
Zeon paused for a second. "She went home after the police station and hasn’t left since. Her study light was on until three in the morning."
That worried me. I knew Evelyn better than anyone. She wouldn’t just sit there and take this. She was probably planning something big, and with her brain, it would be calculated and brutal.
I tapped my fingers on the desk. Work papers sat there waiting for me to sign them, but I couldn’t stop thinking about Evelyn and our kids at home alone. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Watch over them," I told him. "Give her anything she needs. Everything."
Zeon raised an eyebrow. "Even if she wants to—"
"Anything," I said again, meaning it. "Summit Industries went too far this time."
"Got it, Alpha."
After Zeon left, I opened the file on Cyrus Johnson and his daughter Liri.
I sent a message. "Cut all ties with Summit Industries right now. Tell everyone we work with that doing business with Summit means they can’t work with us anymore."
They wrote back immediately. "Yes, Alpha Calvin. Starting now."
I walked to the window and watched rain sliding down the glass.
The storm outside matched how I felt inside. I thought about Viremont, about those two weeks when Evelyn and I got back together after being apart so long. It had rained like this then too.
Two days went by full of boring meetings and phone calls.
I acted normal the whole time, but my mind kept going back to home. Word spreads fast in business. Summit Industries lost almost half their value in one day after we dropped them.
Beta Zeon came back in after knocking. "Alpha Calvin, we stopped working with Summit Industries completely. All our companies cut ties with them."
"They’ll be bankrupt soon," I said coldly.
Zeon cleared his throat. "Should we tell Miss Evelyn what we did? She might want to know—"
"No," I cut him off. "She doesn’t need to know."
Zeon looked confused. He never understood why I helped Evelyn secretly instead of just telling her about it.
How could I explain that I didn’t know any other way? I still couldn’t say the right things to fix it?
"She does things her way. I do things mine."
I turned away from the window, suddenly wanting to go home badly.
"Get ready for us to leave," I ordered.
Third Person POV
Cyrus Johnson woke up feeling like his world was collapsing around him.
"What the hell is going on?!" he roared into his phone, his face flushing with anger. "I thought all those posts were taken care of!"
The subordinate on the other end of the line trembled audibly. "Elder Cyrus, our PR department is already contacting all the media outlets to remove everything. We’ll report back the moment we have any updates!"
Liri Johnson came downstairs humming cheerfully. Seeing her father’s distressed expression, she frowned with concern.
"Dad, did you not sleep well? You look terrible," she said, studying his pale face.
Looking at his daughter, Cyrus felt suspicion rising within him. Could the Brownfur Pack be behind this? His wolf growled uneasily inside him, sensing danger.
"What exactly happened yesterday?" he demanded, his Alpha voice making the staff nearby lower their heads instinctively.
At the mention of it, Liri lifted her chin proudly. "Dad, don’t worry about it. I’ve handled everything perfectly!"
Cyrus warned her to keep a low profile before hurrying off to Summit Industries headquarters, his mind racing with contingency plans.
Liri sipped her organic almond milk, eagerly waiting to bask in another wave of online support. However, when she opened her social media accounts, she discovered all traces of her campaign against Evelyn had vanished. Even her video channel with over a million followers had been suspended.
"What the hell?" she gasped.
She immediately ordered her team to restore her accounts, only to learn that the app developed by Summit Industries had been reported and taken offline completely. Her planned attack had been stopped overnight.
Over the next three days, Summit Industries subsidiaries began collapsing one after another like dominoes. Financial reports leaked, contracts mysteriously canceled, investors pulling out without explanation.
After failing to intercept Evelyn’s children at their school, Liri immediately went online to cry victim, posting from a newly created account.
"I thought my family had enough resources to protect us from being bullied," she wrote, tears streaming down her face in the attached video. "I never imagined these homewreckers would be so brazen, using their wealthy backers to fabricate false information about my family!"
She continued her tearful performance. "Though they’ve managed to suspend my accounts, justice cannot be silenced! I will ensure these people who cannot bear the light of day remain buried in darkness forever. Please continue supporting me, my darlings!"
Based on the negative press surrounding Summit Industries over the past few days, her followers believed her completely, their collective anger intensifying.
The situation escalated rapidly, dominating social media trending topics.
Many influencers publicly supported Liri, bringing their followers into the attack. Someone even located the twin’s school and bribed teachers and parents for insider information. However, whenever they attempted to post any of this content online, they found it mysteriously impossible to upload.
This bizarre "internet censorship" phenomenon was itself reported online, resonating with many others experiencing the same issue.
Unable to discover Evelyn’s exact address or company information, they organized protests at twin’s school, bringing banners demanding "Homewrecker’s sons get out of our school!" and threatening to vandalize the property.
For the safety of all children, the school administration announced a week-long closure. In the school parents’ group chat, Evelyn was subjected to relentless verbal abuse.
Liri was delighted with how everything was unfolding. What she didn’t realize was that with each lie she spread about Evelyn, her father’s company lost another major project.
In just three days, Cyrus Johnson was drowning in business disasters.
When he learned that Wolfe Haven International’s subsidiary was withdrawing from all collaboration agreements, he nearly had a stroke.
He tried desperately to contact Alpha Calvin directly but couldn’t even get through to his beta. Other businesses began canceling contracts, and the bank loans they had been counting on were suddenly denied.
Summit Industries was already struggling with internal deficits. Without capital injection, they wouldn’t be able to pay employee salaries that month. Bankruptcy loomed on the horizon.
In desperation, Cyrus sought help from his old friend Silas Robinson, only to be told that Brownfur Pack was now under Alpha Leon ’s control. To make matters worse, Liri had publicly insulted Leon just days earlier.
Cyrus pleaded with his daughter. "Liri, please, just apologize to Alpha Leon. I’m begging you."
"Dad, have you lost your mind?" Liri snapped. "Leon publicly pursued that shameless homewrecker, which was a direct insult to me. I absolutely refuse to apologize. My pride won’t allow it!"
Cyrus nearly choked on his rage. "Summit Industries is about to collapse, and your pride is worth what exactly?" His wolf clawed at him from within, demanding he assert his Alpha authority over his rebellious daughter.
While father and daughter were locked in their heated argument, Evelyn made her move.
Someone online filed a named report against Liri, accusing her of campus bullying:
[My name is Jenny Whitman, a Southern University graduate. I hereby formally report Liri Johnson (online username: BigPearGirl) for subjecting me to four years of campus bullying. I also report her father, Cyrus Johnson, for bribing the university president to threaten my graduation as a means to cover up his daughter’s bullying behavior!]
