The Disdained Luna Who Rose Alone-Chapter 154 Drugged
Evelyn’s POV
I immediately held my breath and covered my nose, pretending to pass out. The sweet smell filling the room was obvious, a drug mix made to knock out werewolves.
After a moment, the door opened. Three sets of footsteps hurried toward me.
Someone whispered urgently, "Quick! Take her to the young Alpha’s bedroom."
Two female servants lifted my limp body out of the meeting room and carried me to a room at the end of the hallway. As they moved me, I caught a faint but familiar scent, like being in a forest full of trees and earth. This had to be Leon’s room.
I kept my eyes almost closed, watching through tiny slits. The room was dark except for a bedside lamp that lit up what looked like dark gray or black sheets.
"Careful, don’t hit her head or she might wake up," one maid whispered.
"Don’t worry, we used a lot. She won’t wake up for at least half an hour," the other one said, sounding way too confident.
They looked at each other, then one took off my heels. Together, they laid me flat on the bed.
"Let’s go before the young Alpha comes back."
The second I heard the door close, I opened my eyes and sat up, looking around the room. It was simple with hardly any personal stuff. I saw some papers on the desk and was about to check them when I heard the door lock beep.
I quickly lay back down, pretending to be unconscious.
Leon’s POV
I tugged at my tight collar, feeling uncomfortably hot throughout my entire body.
After dealing with that scumbag Randy, I immediately sent Calvin the video of him drugging drinks. After all, Randy was his uncle, and even though I beat him up, Calvin still needed to deal with him.
Then my grandfather had summoned me to join some pack elders for drinks. Though I normally hold my liquor well, being on a restricted hospital diet recently might have weakened my tolerance. My head was spinning more than usual.
I tossed my jacket onto the sofa and poured myself a glass of ice water, but it did nothing to cool me down. Two more glasses later, I still felt no relief.
My temperature kept climbing, my skin burning like I was on fire.
"What the hell is happening?" My first thought was that I’d been drugged, but that seemed impossible. Every bite and sip I’d had tonight came directly from trusted pack members. Even the water in my room was prepared by our family’s longtime butler. Nobody could have tampered with it.
Unable to think clearly because of the heat burning inside me, I went to the bathroom and turned the air conditioning all the way down. After a quick cold shower, I came out to find the room nice and cold. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
I always liked soft, warm lights better than bright ones. The room had a gentle glow from yellow lamps that made it feel cozy and comfortable. As I walked to the bedroom drying my hair, I remembered some papers I needed to work on.
The second I walked into the bedroom, I stopped. Evelyn was lying on my bed.
What the fuck?
My brain temporarily short-circuited, my breath catching as though lightning had struck me. My limbs went numb with shock. This explained why no one could find her when I’d sent security looking—someone had brought her to my room.
Too many thoughts crashed through my mind at once. The woman I couldn’t stop thinking about was right here, in my room, on my bed. It was hard not to think inappropriate thoughts, especially with this burning heat still going through my body even after the cold shower.
But my brain won over my feelings. Fighting the burning feeling spreading across my skin, I gently shook her arm. "Evelyn, wake up."
She opened her eyes, looking confused, studying me like she didn’t understand. "Where am I?"
My voice got stuck in my throat. How do you explain to a woman why she’s in your bed without sounding like a complete pervert?
"This is my room at the Brownfur pack house," I said, keeping my distance. "I’m truly sorry, but I honestly don’t know how you ended up here."
Evelyn’s eyes scrutinized my face intensely, searching for any sign of deception. I let her look, having nothing to hide.
"Alright, I believe you," she finally said. "But I need an explanation."
"I promise I’ll get to the bottom of this and give you answers."
She climbed off my bed and walked to the living room. I followed, maintaining a distance.
As she reached for the water pitcher on the coffee table, she suddenly paused, her body tensing. She sniffed the air, then looked at the empty glass beside the pitcher before turning to me with alarm.
"This water... have you been drinking it?"
I nodded. "I had several glasses. The alcohol made me overheated."
Her expression grew troubled. "And you didn’t notice the water making you feel hotter instead of cooler?"
The implication hit me immediately. "You think the water is drugged?"
"I don’t think. I know," she stated firmly.
The quiet that followed felt like it was choking me. My blood went cold even though I still felt hot. In my family’s house, only one person could get into my private room without asking—my grandfather.
"How did you..." I started to ask.
"Your grandfather’s butler invited me to the meeting room," she explained honestly. "The moment I walked in, I smelled a weird smell, some kind of drug. I immediately held my breath and pretended to pass out. Two maids brought me here."
The confirmation of my suspicions made my stomach turn. My grandfather hadn’t just drugged Evelyn and had her brought to my room, he’d drugged my water too. The alcohol served earlier was probably also part of his plan. Get her unconscious in my bed, get me intoxicated and drugged with what I suspected was an aphrodisiac. A perfect setup to ensure we’d...
"I apologize," I said, my voice tight with barely contained rage. "My family has wronged you. I’m sorry."
Evelyn looked at me. "Just find out what really happened."
She glanced at the air conditioning vents. "You should get medical attention for your condition. Soon."
The cold air wasn’t helping at all. If I weren’t so angry with my grandfather right now, I might have already lost control of myself.
As I moved to help Evelyn leave, someone pounded on the door with urgent, heavy knocks that broke the tense quiet between us.
"Evelyn, come out!" A deep, commanding voice called from the door.
