The Editor Is An Extra-Chapter 102: The third trial 2
While Damon and Sia had sorted out their own problem, the other two teams on the other hand, were much more violent.
After the team of three who had come second found themselves alone. They heard the voice announcing the details and conditions of the third trial.
"The third trial is divided into two phases. In the first phase, the three teams are trapped in a room, but only one person out of each team is coming out. Would you betray your teammates, or will you let them betray you? It lasts only ten minutes."
Their faces grew grim, they began to stare at themselves warily, and began to subtly distance themselves from each other.
"I think this is a test." The hardened man who had led them all through the first and second trial suddenly mentioned. Though, he still had a hand resting firmly on the sword at his hip.
The only girl among the three scoffed.
"What? they want to overcome this trial with the power of friendship?" She said with a slight smile, but inwardly she was calculating.
’He’s stronger than both of us individually.’ She thought looking at the man who suggested it was a test, before she made up her mind.
"I’m afraid I’m with Leah on this one." The last team member pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. He didn’t think this was a test. The trials had been brutal since the beginning, especially the first one where half of them had to be culled. Not to mention that chances of betrayal were hinted at since the beginning.
The girl, Leah, then smiled, and turned to the man with the glasses. "Ray, what say we deal with him first?" she gestured to the hardened man. "Then we can decide the winner between us two, after."
"You just read my mind." The man with the glasses said, as a glint flashed pass the lens of the glasses.
Leah then turned back to the hardened man.
"I’m afraid you’d be the first one among us three to go to hell then." She drew a dagger.
The man meanwhile, didn’t look fazed. He calmly drew his sword from it’s sheath. "I was afraid it would come to this. But if you both think that I’ll just like down and accept my death, then you’re wrong." he said taking a stance.
In an instant, their auras exploded from their body. The hardened man was at the Theta+ rank, while Leah and Ray were both at the Theta rank. Even though, they still believed they could kill him.
The pressure of his rank washed over them, but they easily shrugged it off. With a swing of her hand, Leah’s dagger flew through the air in a spinning motion, heading straight for the man’s throat.
But the man simply spun his sword in an anti clockwise motion, countering the spinning motion of her dagger, and flinging the dagger back to her.
But then he noticed something wrong, the glasses man wasn’t by her side.
His body moved with speed that bellied his burly size, as he blurred to the side, successfully evading the foil (fencing sword) that passed through the space he had been standing the moment before.
The glasses man’s form rippled into existence, before disappearing soon after. But the hardened man didn’t get a moment of respite, Leah caught back the dagger he had flung at her, and leapt towards him the moment he sidestepped Ray’s foil.
The man bent backwards, letting Leah fly over him, but Leah didn’t agree with that. Before she could completely fly over him, her free hand clamped onto his shoulder.
Then using that as a pivot point, she shifted her weight, and thrust her dagger to his neck once more. But before her dagger could reach him, his large hand grabbed onto Leah’s own shoulder firmly, and threw her off him like a ragdoll.
But like before, the man’s instinct screamed, he flickered backwards. It looked like there was nothing there, but almost instantly, the form of the glasses man flickered and became visible. His foil was stretched through the space the man had been before.
Leah meanwhile after being flung away like a ragdoll, flipped through the air and landed on her feet. Then walked over to where the glasses man stood.
"Let’s all get serious shall we?" she smirked at the hardened man, as pink mist began seeping from her skin.

In another one of the chambers, was the team of two that came last.
"The third trial is divided into two phases. In the first phase, the three teams are trapped in a room, but only one person out of each team is coming out. Would you betray your teammates, or will you let them betray you? It lasts only ten minutes."
As the two, a man and a woman, listened to the conditions, they gradually grew pale.
"N...no way." The man stuttered. The two had been lovers for over a decade, and yet, this stupid trial wanted them to kill each other?
"What type of sick fucker are you?l" The man shouted at empty air. "We are not going to betray each othe! That’s what you want right?! We are not going to let you play us like a fiddle!"
"Eris..." But as he turned to his over a decade lover,
Squelch!
He was met with a dagger to the throat.
Uhk!
He spat out a spray of blood. He desperately tried to talk, tried to ask her why she had betrayed him, but the words just wouldn’t form, after all, he had a dagger in his throat.
As his body fell to the ground, his so called lover, who’s hand was still on the knife embedded into his throat, crouched down with him.
"I’m sorry, Joe, but it’s either you, or me. And I would choose me anytime. Even though my potential is that of the Zeta rank, I’ve been stuck in the Theta rank for the past ten years.
What if there are some treasures in this tomb that can help me breakthrough. That is why I cannot afford to forgo this opportunity. You understand where I’m coming from right?" she stroked his hair.
"Since you’ve understand my reason, now silently die for me." she removed the dagger from his throat.
Then stabbed down again, and again, and again, until he had no less than a hundred holes on his body. That was when she stopped, at this point, his blood had sprayed all over her body.
She then spent the nine or so remaining minutes wiping the blood from her body, and storing his corpse in there storage ring.

Sia watched as Damon shattered into motes of light.
"What a broken ability." she muttered, before she smiled. "But then again, mine is just as unfair, maybe even more so than his."
Sia simply stood, until the remainder of the time out of the given ten minutes were eclipsed. Then a bright flash of light clouded her vision. When she could finally see again, she was in the middle of another vast chamber.
But this time, she was with two others, both of which she recognized were from the other two teams.
One of them was a girl, who’s clothes and hair looked lined with hastily dried blood. And the other was a man, who was pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose, and was holding a foil.
"Congratulations for passing the first phase of the third trial. This will be the third and final phase of the third trial, after which the winner would get everything this tomb has to offer. The objective is simple, be the last one standing."
After the announcement, the three stared at each other, trying to get a general guage of where they each stood.
But the first person to break the silence was the other girl who turned to Sia.
"You also killed your partner?" She asked, ecstatic over the fact that maybe she might not be the only one who killed her own lover.
Sia smirked.
"So what if I did?"
"You two are a pair of some sick women, killing your your own lovers for worldly materials." The man with the glasses once again pushed them up the bridge of his nose.
"I’ll be doing the world a favour, by getting rid of women like you." He said with a soft smile that might as well be chilling to anyone other than these two.
The girl who had killed her own lover scoffed.
"What are you now, a saint? Don’t make me laugh, if I remember correctly, your team had three members, and you had to have killed them to be here."
"Even so, we were merely acquaintances who came together for the convenience of the trials. You two on the other hand, had a different circumstance." he pointed out.
"You know, you two talk too much." Sia muttered offhandedly. "Let’s make things a little more interesting." she smiled. "Both of you, come at me, together."
