The Elven Evolution: Starting With 1 Million SSSR Skills-Chapter 146: [] The Demon’s Arsenal
"This is Storm Root!" Cassie declared proudly as she pointed at a magical staff.
"It is more durable than dwarven steel, the spirit shard is from a monster said to manipulate storms, and the runic symbols were carved out by a great mage."
Yennefer picked up the staff and weighed it in her hands.
"Hmmm..."
She tilted it to the side.
"Does it come in gold?"
Cassie’s face fell. "G-gold?"
After they had completed their negotiations, it was finally time to get new weapons for the group.
Considering how rich they now were, Eliron had completely skipped over the regular weapons and went to the special grade aisle.
And now, it was time for them to pick out just which weapons they wanted.
"This one does not come in gold, but I do have some golden weapons! Right this way!"
Before Yen could drop the staff, Eliron grabbed it and gave it a little spin while observing the dark wood.
"Are you also going to get a staff? Aren’t you a swordsman?" Yen asked, watching him curiously.
"A hybrid actually. I am both a mage and a knight, so I technically need both weapons."
Eliron glanced at Cassie. "Can this weapon be summoned?"
"Of course, of course!" She hurried over to him and grabbed the staff. "I am registered as the owner, so I am the only one that can use it at the moment, but..."
She raised the staff and it vanished into thin air.
"All you have to do is imagine it in your hands and—"
Swoosh!
With a gentle gust of wind, the staff appeared tight in her hands, accompanied by a wave of sparks.
"Woah, that is cool. I changed my mind, gimme!"
Yen was trying to grab the weapon when Eliron took it and raised it up above her head.
"Hey, that’s not fair, you aren’t even a full mage!" Yen complained as she jumped, trying to reach it. "Bring it down!"
Eliron placed a hand on her head, keeping her in place. "This staff isn’t suited for you, you don’t even use offensive magic. Let’s find something more... divine shall we?"
Yennefer pouted but sighed and agreed. She turned to Cassie and folded her hands across her chest. "I want something that I can summon too."
"Yes, yes, I have just what you need!" Cassie said in a bubbly voice, happy to be making sales.
"What about you Artie?" Eliron asked, glancing at the red head.
Artie had a finger to her jaw and had been staring somewhere deep into the shop, specifically at the weapons bathed in red.
"I’ll need two weapons as well, a staff and a short sword."
"I was thinking the same thing." Eliron said as he walked towards the weapons.
Unlike him, Artie was not a natural hybrid, she was in fact a mage.
But maybe because of the issues she had to face thus far, Artie ended up using three forms of fighting.
She was an archer, a mage as well as a swordsman. By far the most diverse of them all.
Eliron stared at the rack of weapons, his eyes trailing down the arsenal.
"Oho, I see you have an eye for luxury, my good sir!" Cassie beamed as she teleported right in front of the rack.
"These are all Grade-S special grade items. First, we have the holy sword of heros." She picked up the first one, a smooth weapon made of Empyrean Steel.
Just from a glance, Eliron could tell it was leagues above his sword that had been damaged.
But it was still not what he had in mind...
Cassie grabbed the next weapon.
"The Starlight Staff—" before she could even finish her statement, Yennefer snatched the staff right out of her hands and hugged it to her chest.
"Now we’re talking!"
The weapon was the colour of the rising sun, platinum gold, and the gemstone was starlight silver, which radiated a soft glow.
There were ancient runes lining up the staff, and a swirling pattern carved into its base. An aesthetic weapon that perfectly suited Yen.
Artie then walked up to the rack and picked up one of the weapons, testing its weight.
"Ahh, that one was a shipment from the east, Bloodrain." Cassie said as she walked up to Artie to inspect it.
It was a black-red Wakizashu, just about the size of her arm. Since Artie would mostly be using her magic staff or bow, the portable weapon was a nimble and excellent secondary weapon.
"This one has a rather potent enchantment."
"Really?" Artie raised a brow.
Swish!
She swung down, creating a gust of wind that rattled the weapon rack, a high pitched shrill filling the air.
A small smile appeared on her face as she tucked the weapon in its saya (sheath). "What is it?"
Cassie smiled. "It can absorb blood, and then using the absorbed blood the weapon can repair itself. But that is not all..."
"It also has a healing effect and can be used to completely heal even the most severe injuries."
She raised a finger. "But—!"
Artie sighed. "But?"
"Using the healing capabilities can only be done when it has absorbed enough blood, and after using it, you will restart the process." Cassie explained.
Ash nodded thoughtfully. "That is a very useful enchantment. With a weapon like that, you basically guarantee a second life on the battlefield."
"Mmhm." Eliron nodded and smiled at Cassie. "It seems our partner here is the real deal."
Cassie chuckled. "You flatter me, we still haven’t found a weapon for yourself or Sir Ash here."
Eliron shrugged. "It shouldn’t take too long..."
Cassie ended up showing them round the shop, moving from one weapon to the other.
Artie found a magic staff that was to her liking, a simple black wood staff with a scarlet spirit shard. Although Cassie had some bows to recommend, Artie was vehemently against getting one.
She trusted the bow carved by her hands to whatever Cassie had to offer. The pride of a wood elf...
Ash ended up going for a long sword that was a lot larger than most blades, the weapon inching close to being called a claymore instead.
Like Artie’s weapon, Ash’s blade had a rather unique enchantment, but that was a story for another day.
As for Eliron...
"All these are useless." He said as he dropped yet another exquisite sword on the floor.
"Eh? B-but that one was Empyrean Steel!" Cassie complained.
Yen sighed as she stared at the pile of discarded weapons and tilted her head sliglty. "When did you get so picky?"
"It’s not that... I need something above special grade..."
While picking out a magic staff wasn’t a problem, when it came to swords, Eliron needed to be very selective.
His sword arts were able to destroy an elven steel sword in just a few months, and he had not even fought anyone that was really a threat, up until he met Kyro’s.
In swordsmanship, your skill was number one, but at the same time, your weapon also mattered.
If you used an inferior blade, then you would never be able to display the full extent of your skills.
Or worse, it would break in the heat of battle.
That was why Eliron was looking for something better than special.
Cassie let out a tired sigh and ran her hand down her face.
"Above special grade huh?" She glanced at a corner of the room. Throughout their exploration of her warehouse, not once had Cassie taken them there.
"I might have something for you..."
Following Cassie’s lead, they all walked up to the isolated part of the shop. At first, there was just a plain black wall in front of them.
And then—
SNAP!
Cassie snapped her fingers at the wall, and it suddenly vanished, revealing a door wrapped up in black chains.
The moment the veil was lifted, Eliron felt demonic energy oozing from the other side in waves.
’Is this...’
"But before we check it out, let me ask you a question."
Cassie’s face became serious as she turned to face him.
"Are you ready to die for a sword?"
