The Eternal Bound-Chapter 42: Stay Here
Chapter 42: Stay Here
Since Val and Georgio said that Elyna had given birth to her children safely, people from the Silver Moon Pack and the vampire race came to see Elyna. However, once they arrived, they could only wait outside with sad expressions, not daring to disturb those who were in Elyna's room.
Georgio even waited outside. Crossing his arms and closing his eyes to hold back the sadness that would surely spill out if he had entered the room.
Inside the room, the sound of jokes and small chuckles could still be heard coming from Tritan. But for those who knew what happened, Tritan's laughter only made them want to cry even more. Tritan's sincerity touched the hearts of the werewolves. Hera even sobbed slowly and hugged her brother tightly to pour out her sadness. Elyna didn't know the truth yet. Hera couldn't imagine how much pain Elyna felt when she found out the meaning of the sincere laughter that Tritan gave that day.
In contrast to the gloomy atmosphere outside, inside, Val was silently watching Tritan, who was enjoying his talk with Elyna's two children. Tritan did not differentiate between his child and Val's child. He loved them both equally.
"Take good care of your twin, okay? She might be a bit of a nuisance to you. But I hope you can understand her and keep her company now and forever."
As if hearing what Tritan said, the baby with wolf ears grabbed Tritan's fingers as if to say that he heard what Tritan said. That immediately made Tritan smile, almost crying.
"You're a good child like your father. I-I'm at ease leaving my family to people like you."
His defenses collapsed and Tritan started crying. After he stroked the child's head gently, his gaze shifted to look at his daughter who was sleeping comfortably.
"My beautiful daughter. Your path may be more difficult, but I believe you can get through it with the support of those who love you. You will have a great father. Therefore... it would be good if you don't remember me."
Val immediately patted Tritan's shaking back after he suddenly coughed and spit out a large clot of blood that looked scary. Tritan had reached the end of the ritual he was carrying out. He was even lucky enough to be able to see the sweet children before he died.
"What happened to you?"
Elyna, who was previously still asleep due to exhaustion, finally woke up when Tritan was coughing violently. Tritan didn't dare to turn around. Elyna must not see him in such a bad condition.
"Tritan, look at me now," Elyna's voice began to sound shaky. She couldn't have missed the pool of blood expanding at Tritan's feet. He's not fine. Elyna knows that.
"Tritan..."
Finally, Elyna cried. Tritan felt guilty. He didn't mean to make his beloved sad because of his departure.
"Don't cry... I'm fine," Tritan answered with difficulty. Elyna shook her head in disapproval. Tritan's voice was weak and trembling.
"Tritan... please look at me," Elyna begged louder. She even forced herself out of bed. Before Val could stop it, Elyna had moved, which made her lose her balance and about to fall off the bed.
"ELYNA!"
But because of that, Tritan reflexively turned around, approached Elyna, and helped his partner according to his instinct.
At that moment, Elyna could finally see Tritan's condition properly. Elyna was stunned. Tritan's clothes were soaked in blood while his skin had lost all its color.
Elyna cried loudly, hugging Tritan tightly.
Tritan hugged Elyna back, then stroked her hair slowly.
"You shouldn't cry so easily after having children. Look at your children. They don't even cry," Tritan teased weakly. He couldn't even control his voice anymore. His eyes were too heavy to stay open, but Elyna insisted on hugging him.
Tritan slowly leaned his head weakly on Elyna's shoulder, then smiled slightly.
"Don't blame yourself or anyone for... what happened to me. Live happily with Val. I... don't deserve you," Tritan's words became increasingly broken. Accompanied by his consciousness slowly disappearing.
It shouldn't end like this. Tritan didn't want Elyna to cry because of his actions.
"Sorry for disturbing you and Val with my presence. I... I'm just happy to meet you again, Elyna."
Tritan blinked slowly. What he felt was no longer the same as when he had a long sleep. At that moment, Tritan began to think whether what he was feeling was death.
"I... apologize for being selfish until the end."
Time seemed to stop as Tritan's head fell on Elyna's shoulder without making a sound. Elyna tried to shake the cold body, tears slowly dripping from her beautiful eyes.
"Tri... tan?"
There was no answer. The cold hand was already lying helplessly next to Elyna's body, making her shake her head in disbelief.
"Tritan? I, I promise I won't be selfish anymore from now on. Wake up... sob, our child needs you..." Elyna sobbed. Her eyes looked at Val, asking for help. But Val held her hand tightly and carried Elyna in his arms.
"He's not breathing anymore, Elyna."
Val felt so evil when that sentence was uttered. Elyna looked at him disappointedly, shaking her head while hugging Tritan's body.
"No. He must have just fallen asleep. Tritan, please tell Val the truth. He lied to me. He lied about you not breathing anymore."
Elyna's cries grew louder. Val clenched her fists, confused about how to comfort her Luna.
"Elyna-"
"TRITAN WILL NEVER LEAVE ME! HE HAS ALREADY DONE IT ONCE! I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO FORGIVE HIM IF HE LEAVES A SECOND TIME!"
Still hugging Tritan's body, for the first time, Elyna really snapped at Val. Her eyes were red from continuously shedding tears. Her hands which were not that big tried to hold Tritan's hands, trying to convince herself that Tritan was okay.
"He promised to take care of me from now on. He promised to atone for all his mistakes by staying with me. Sob, why did he have to leave, Val? Why did he have to leave like this?"
Val was silent. Honestly, his heart ached to hear Elyna's confession. But for now, he preferred to stroke Elyna's head and calm her down rather than feel hurt because he had to share his love with someone else. His hand gripped Elyna's hand tightly until she finally looked at him.
"He... did it because he wanted to save you and the children. Interracial pregnancy is too risky, so he used his magic to protect your womb. He said he would only fall asleep after helping you. But if I had known it would turn out like this-" Val took a deep breath. "I would have forced him to find another way where we could be happy together," Val regretted. Next, he tried to release Tritan from Elyna's embrace. Val almost cried when he saw the face that used to be always arrogant looked so pale and calm, with a little blood remaining at the corner of her lips.
Elyna cried even harder. She tried to cover her mouth as her brother's limp body was slowly carried out by Val.
Time seemed to stop. Everyone slowly cried when they saw Tritan in Val's arms in a state of not breathing. Georgio, who took over Tritan, slumped down when he saw his son's pale face.
Val, who had previously looked strong, slowly shed tears. His face, which always looked flat, showed sadness. He bit her lip, still feeling that all of this was his fault.
The hospital lobby was slowly filled with the sound of sobs, including Georgio, who hugged his son tightly while continuing to say sorry. It wasn't only Val who felt guilty there. He did the same. Because of his love, his son's life had to end. Gone, drowning his great love for his younger sibling.

10 years later...
Elyna held Val's hand tightly. Her appearance was not much different from before. Only her face had changed slightly and showed that Elyna had become wiser than before.
His hair, which used to be quite long, is now cut short. His feet stepped steadily towards a dark underground passage lit only by candles. Val held Elyna's hand tightly in return as if to say that he was there to support her. Elyna smiled slightly, then took another step and stopped in front of a large altar, which was arranged luxuriously with a coffin on top.
The coffin has a transparent top. Elyna could see her brother's handsome face from there. She couldn't really touch it, but it was enough to make Elyna satisfied.
His pale and handsome face looked peaceful in his 'sleep'. His long eyelashes didn't move an inch, and those firm lips had always been tightly closed since dozens of years ago.
Elyna looked sadly, then sat down near the coffin.
"Tritan... the kids are all grown up now. As you might expect, Triqi is more closed off than Valan. She keeps asking where her father is. She said... she wants to meet you, Tritan."
Elyna started crying. Her hands were clenched until Val held her hand and kissed it gently.

Val's expression also looked sad. But he held her hand as if he was stronger than Elyna.
"You promised you wouldn't cry when you met him, Elyna. Tritan wouldn't like seeing you cry every time you came," Val said softly. His mind then remembered something he never forgot about Tritan. Before Tritan left, he had once called him to the roof to say something he didn't understand at first.
"Elyna loves you more, Val. I know that."
Only after he left did Val understand why Tritan had chosen that path. Val closed his eyes. He then knelt next to Tritan's coffin to pray.
