Chapter 56 - Resurrection

Val's silver eyes never left Valan's body, which was lying in a special room. Val had already checked Elyna and Triqi's condition. Now, it was Val's turn to see how his biological son was doing.

Val rubbed Valan's cheek slowly. Cold. Val had never imagined that there would be a day when he would see his son lying like an empty doll. His body seemed soulless, only with the medical equipment attached to his body, Val was sure that Valan could still be healthy again.

Val knew he was wrong if he intended to kill Tritan just for his son. However, Val couldn't bear to ignore his son's condition just like that. Val had to choose one of them, and he still set his heart on it.

Val closed his eyes. The sound of the crowd's screams waiting for their duel reached his ears. Val had to get out before Elyna or Triqi were free from Georgio's magic.

Val stroked Valan's hair once, then left the sterile room with a firm heart.

"Tritan..."

"Put away that strange expression of yours, Father. Don't you also prefer that dog over me?" Tritan sarcastically said while continuing to wait for Val's arrival. The audience's screams were dominated by the vampires because the Silver Moon Pack was only sent those who knew what was happening between the two. Val didn't want any unnecessary bloodshed, especially if they knew that their new pack leader -Valan- was lying down due to the actions of the vampire race.

Georgio didn't say anything else. His attention was diverted when Val entered the arena with his calm demeanor. The duel was almost starting, and Georgio took the time to hug his son briefly, even though Tritan didn't hug him back.

"I didn't want this to happen. But I respect your choice, Son," he whispered briefly before climbing into the king's seat. After Georgio left, Tritan immediately looked at Val arrogantly. He played with his fingers before whispering in a low voice.

"Let's play and die, Dog."

"STOP IT!"

Elyna woke up after dreaming of witnessing her two partners die horribly. Her tears unconsciously streamed down her cheeks. While sobbing, Elyna tried to get up from her sleeping position.

Her eyebrows knitted together when she heard a loud noise from the direction of the arena. As if realizing something, Elyna immediately ran towards the window before her legs felt weak and she fell again. Elyna couldn't believe what Georgio had done earlier. To prevent her and Triqi from interfering in the duel, Georgio used his magic to put them to sleep.

The magic still affected her body, but Elyna didn't want to give up so easily. Elyna used her powers to remove Georgio's magic and ran, stumbling towards the door. Outside, Hera and Jake, who were asked to guard there, looked surprised to see Eyna, who had regained consciousness and was crying towards them. Elyna's body fell, and Jake quickly caught her. Jake hugged Elyna while looking at his mate with a difficult gaze.

"Jake... please take me to the arena. They... they'll both die if I don't stop this ridiculous duel."

Honestly, both couldn't bear to see their Luna in such a bad state. But Val's order was absolute. There would be serious consequences if they ignored the man's order.

"LUNA!"

They were too lost in their thoughts that they didn't realize that Elyna was struggling to get out of the castle with faltering steps. Luckily, many vampires chose to come to the arena so no one could stop her from leaving. Both of them realized they had no other choice and immediately followed Elyna to carry her towards the arena.

"Why. Didn't. You. Retaliate. Any. Of My Punches?!"

Tritan furiously tightened the shadow magic that broke every one of Val's bones. Val's brown eyes just kept staring at Tritan. Val didn't scream or even look tortured as the sound of breaking bones continued to be heard from his body.

"You want to kill me, right? Then kill me. Just let my soul replace Valan's soul. I only ask, take good care of my child like I take care of Triqi like my own child, Tritan."

Val's calm voice made Tritan even more annoyed. He threw Val far to the end of the arena. Causing a large explosion and smoke that covered the battle arena.

"Nonsense! Fight me properly, coward! You don't deserve to have Elyna if you're this weak!" Tritan shouted angrily. He was running out of ideas to get Val to turn against him. His eyes stared intently at Val, who got up again and wiped the blood that had come out from between his mouth. There must be a way, and the only thing that can make Val lose control is...

Tritan smiled slyly, then sped fast towards the scent he had memorized.

Val's vision was still blurry after being thrown by Tritan in all directions. He faintly heard the sound of sobbing that he knew so well. His eyes widened as his vision showed someone he loved so much being strangled by Tritan.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO ELYNA?!"

Anger and fear soon blinded Val. He brutally used his strength to throw Tritan far away and immediately tore his body to pieces. He didn't hear Elyna's scared scream; everything felt dark, and all Val knew was that he had to kill the creature that dared to hurt Luna.

His hands immediately stopped when he heard Tritan chuckle weakly. His eyes stared in disbelief at what he had just done to Tritan. Blood continued to come out of Tritan's body, and the man lay down in resignation and closed his eyes.

"You-"

"TRITAN!"

Val was still shocked when Elyna suddenly ran frantically and hugged Tritan's bloodied body. Her cry was a cry that was much more tragic than the cry she had let out when Tritan lay lifeless in her arms. Everyone was silent in disbelief when the duel declared that the winner was Val. A sign that Tritan was once again on the verge of his life.

"Why, sob... Why did you do this?! D-don't leave me again! Don't make yourself always look like the evil character!"

Elyna's desperate scream made everything clear. Tritan wasn't serious when he strangled Elyna earlier. Everything he did was solely to make Val angry and end up killing him again.

Val stared at his hands in disbelief. In his entire life, he felt like he had never made a mistake as fatal as this. Triqi's heartbreaking screams only made everything worse. She came when she woke up and saw no one in the castle except Hera and Jake.

The two of them immediately hugged Tritan's limp body. They ignored their clothes that were slowly turning red. Triqi held her father's hand tightly, not allowing Tritan to weaken even a little.

"Father! F-forgive me! Don't be like this, okay? Sob, don't go again.... Why did one of you have to leave because of me?! I won't allow it! You have to survive this time!"

Triqi's hand, which was trying to press her father's wound, stopped when Tritan held her hand gently. His calm eyes made Triqi cry even harder. Triqi knew that wounds caused by Val were difficult to heal.

Moreover, when Triqi could feel that her father's power was going in one direction, the lower the hope of Tritan's life that Triqi knew. Her father gave his life again for Valan. Once again, he gave up his love for Elyna.

Tritan's hand stroked Triqi's cheek gently. Tritan could only hope that Val's son, named Valan, truly loved his daughter with all his heart.

Even though he lost his memory, it didn't mean that Tritan lost his care for the family he loved the most. Tritan only regretted that in his last moments, he couldn't feel the feelings of love for Elyna.

At that moment, Tritan finally realized that he might always be wrong about something. Since childhood, he was taught to see Elyna as his partner. But maybe it shouldn't be like that. He should have loved Elyna only as her older brother.

The traditions of the vampire race were one thing, but his little sister deserved a partner she truly loved.

Tritan smiled slightly, then stroked Elyna's cheek gently.

"I approve."

Elyna's eyes widened. Amidst her tears, she looked at Tritan's face, which was slowly becoming more and more sad.

"Take care of them for me... once again, Val," whispered Tritan softly before his hands fell weakly. Tritan's fall resulted in a loud noise coming from the audience who were still in the arena.

Everyone burst into tears again that day. Triqi doesn't want to let go of her father's body, no matter what happens. He gasped as the audience became increasingly noisy, and a surge of power was felt from behind him.

Valan, the person he loved most, stood behind him in good health. His eyes returned to their original color, which matched Val's eyes. His face softened as he crouched in front of Tritan, who had closed his eyes quietly.

Valan leaned closer to Tritan's ear. "Thank you," he whispered before placing his hand on Tritan's chest.

Zen, who realized what Valan was trying to do from the audience, immediately went down to the arena. He also placed his hand on Tritan's chest. He felt stupid because all this time he didn't realize that there was a better way to save Tritan. Although the price to pay is not cheap.

"What are you waiting for?! Tritan can still rise if we combine our powers!"

Everyone gasped. They didn't understand what Zen meant. But after seeing Valan and Zen's serious faces, the first hand to help provide strength was Triqi. Followed by Elyna, Georgio, and of course, Val.

"Not enough...." Zen hissed when he realized that their power still couldn't make Tritan respond again. He looked around, then shouted in an angry tone.

"Don't you want your Prince to be saved?! We can make him wake up! By combining your powers."

Slowly, the power began to gather in one direction. The vampires began to wake up to contribute their magic. Followed by other werewolves who were still in the audience seats.

The surge of power made Triqi let out happay tears. The atmosphere was silent when Tritan's pale hands slowly moved, and he began to breathe.

Elyna couldn't support her legs anymore as Tritan's red eyes slowly opened.

Their Tritan had come back to life.
