The extra is a fox eyed jester-Chapter 59: Who are you?
Nexus academy’s aspirant exam:5 minutes left.
Lily or rather Liliana strolled calmly through the forest, it had taken her over ten minutes to wipe out the remaining aspirants she could find, that was of course due to the fact that she limited the scope of her abilities.
Most aspirants had been smart enough not to use their blessings or at least the full extent of it, after all there was a saying, knowing one’s enemy was already the battle won.
The pink haired girl was bubbling with excitement, her mind wandered to the promise Azazel had made to her.
"Say dearest sister, what should I ask of our lovely young master? He looks particularly tasty after his anonymous voyage."
’Don’t do something reckless liliana.’ Lily warned from within the mind space.
Liliana licked her lips.
"Define reckless."
’Liliana!!! I’m warning you.’
"Oh hush baby sister, in the state you’re in you’re bound to throw yourself at him before you even realize it, at least I can control myself to an extent~"
Her hand combed through her hair, brushing a stray lock which was already deviating from its usual pink color.
The edges were already turning a shade of red while her eye color had deepened, the faint demonic sigils within her eyes were pulsing with an eerie glow.
She hummed, then followed the path where she had last left Azazel.
By the time she got there, her red haired master was nowhere to be found.
She exhaled slowly before sniffing the air, like she was trying to catch a faint scent.
It didn’t take long before the familiar scent of despair and resentment hit her nose.
Her tongue swept across her lips, slowly.
"Found you~" She cooed, then went deeper into the forest.
It was a little less than four minutes remaining when she spotted Azazel sprawled against a tree.
He was slumped against the tree with bruises littered across his face and dried blood clinging to the corner of his lips.
In this state Liliana was sure she could end his life easily but there was no fun in that.
The promise he had made to her that he would grant any request of hers was more beneficial to her than winning the exam.
Azazel tilted his head slowly, his gaze met hers and then he blinked once.
Liliana grinned then skipped towards him.
"Young master~"
She squatted until she was face to face with Azazel.
"You look beat up, it would be easy to take you out this way." She spoke with a mischievous tone.
Azazel stared at her with tired eyes, then sighed.
"What do you want to do, will you kill me?"
She giggled.
"Gosh no~ that wouldn’t be any fun now would it, I’m still your maid and exclusive shadow, how will the Duke and duchess react when they find out a servant meant to protect their son, killed him during the exam? That’s practically going to get me killed."
Azazel narrowed his eyes.
"Save me the theatrics Lily, I know you would have done so if I didn’t make you that promise."
A soft gasp left her lips, for a second her playful expression faltered but she quickly reverted back to her usual self.
"Guilty as charged Master, you’re right your promise saved you~"
Azazel scoffed.
"You’re not Lily are you?"
He paused then added.
"I may be oblivious to a lot of things but I’m quite observant, I knew my servant and while she is crazy, she’s not outright bold enough to act out."
His voice took on a colder tone.
"Who are you?"
Liliana blinked.
"Well this is surprising, I never thought the young master was that interested in Lily." She spoke softly.
Silence lingered between them, until Azazel broke the ice.
"Did Lilith send you?"
The moment those words left his lips, Liliana’s eyes widened.
Her hands reached for the dagger strapped within her stockings but a few inches away her hands twitched.
"Careful young master, your words might get you killed."
Azazel snorted.
"My own servant, threatening me... now this is something I never thought I’d experience."
Liliana smiled, it was soft and dangerous but her eyes were cold and full of concealed murderous intent.
"How did you know about Lilith?"
Azazel shrugged.
"Would you believe me if I said a little birdie told me?"
"Birds don’t speak, young master, neither do dead men." She whispered.
Azazel would have found the situation amusing if it wasn’t for the chilling tone her voice carried.
The redhead stared at her smiling face, in the end he could only sigh in resignation.
"I knew Lily somehow had a deal with Lilith, that’s the main reason I took her as my shadow in the first place."
Liliana raised her brows in surprise, her lips formed a small circle and for the first time, she had no words.
She couldn’t tell whether Azazel was just bold or foolish.
"I’ve been watching and I haven’t seen Lily do anything to blow our cover."
She moved closer.
"You’re lucky we both like you, that’s the only reason you’re still alive young master."
"You still haven’t told me who you are, and what you’re doing in Lily’s body."
Liliana laughed.
"Pfffttt Lily’s body? Hahaha oh my~"
She wiped a tear from her eyes.
"My name is Liliana, I’m Lily’s other half so we’re basically the same person, this body belongs to me as well~"
"What?"
Azazel was stunned silent.
He opened his mouth to retort, to refute that absurd fact but nothing came to mind.
For a while now he had been doubting the scenarios he’d once known as a gamer, he wasn’t sure there was anything under Lily’s lore which mentioned her other half, even though he didn’t complete most endings of the game, he had checked the forums, read the lores of all named characters and the important antagonists and nothing had mentioned anything about Liliana.
Now he was at a crossroads, he didn’t know what to believe anymore.
Seeing Azazel at a loss for words, Liliana giggled.
"Now for the little promise you made me as the price for forfeiting..."
She leaned closer and whispered into his ear.
Azazel’s face turned crimson, he stared at Liliana in shock then asked.
"Are you crazy?"
Liliana chuckled.
"~No, I’m dead serious."
Before Azazel could retort, she placed her dagger within his hands then guided it towards her stomach.
Azazel could only watch as she disintegrated into motes of amber light, scattering above his form like dying embers carried by the wind.
