The Extra is a Hero?-Chapter 329: DOMAIN EXPANSION: EVENT HORIZON
Chapter 327: Domain Expansion: Event Horizon
The Spirit Realm didn’t fade away. It was eaten.
When I clapped my hands, a sphere of absolute, light-devouring blackness expanded from my center. It moved faster than sound, faster than thought. It rushed over the grey mud, swallowed the static sky, and engulfed the screaming form of the Parasite King.
"What... what have you done?!" The King’s voice didn’t echo. In here, sound didn’t bounce. It just fell.
We were floating.
There was no ground. There was no sky. There was only an endless, three-dimensional grid of violet lines stretching out into infinity against a backdrop of crushing black.
[System Notification: Domain Established.]
[Domain Name: Event Horizon]
[Time Remaining: 50 Seconds]
"Welcome," I said.
My voice came from everywhere at once.
I stood—or floated—at the center of the grid. The mana from the Archmage Elixir was burning through my veins, screaming to be used. I felt like a god. No, not a god. Gods are bound by myths.
I felt like an Editor.
The Parasite King hovered fifty meters away. His form, usually a terrifying storm of static and purple fire, looked small here. The static was frozen, unable to glitch the perfect geometry of my Domain.
"This... this is Void Magic?" The King stammered, looking around at the endless dark. "No... this is something else. This is a prison!"
He roared and raised his hand.
"I am the Administrator! Delete!"
He fired a massive beam of deletion code at me. It traveled fast—a lance of purple light meant to erase my existence.
I didn’t dodge. I didn’t block.
I simply looked at the space between me and the beam.
"Distance," I whispered. "Expand."
The grid lines between us stretched.
The beam kept moving at the speed of light, but the space it had to travel suddenly became infinite. It stretched, thinned, and eventually fizzled out into nothingness, miles away from my chest, despite the King only being fifty meters away.
"Impossible!" The King shrieked. "I aimed perfectly!"
"In the Event Horizon," I explained, taking a step forward, "distance is just a suggestion. And I didn’t like your suggestion."
I took another step.
"Stay back!" The King tried to fly backward, his thrusters of dark mana flaring.
He moved at supersonic speeds. He should have crossed the horizon in seconds.
But he didn’t move an inch.
"Coordinate Lock," I said, closing my fist.
The grid lines around him tightened. No matter how fast he flew, his position relative to me remained fixed. He was running on a treadmill of folded space.
"Let me go!" He screamed, thrashing against the immovable coordinates.
"You spent eighteen years eating the World Tree," I said, my voice cold and echoing. "You spent eighteen years corrupting the code of this world. Now..."
I raised my dagger. The blade absorbed the violet light of the grid, turning into a shard of the abyss.
"...let’s see how you like being formatted."
I didn’t dash toward him. That would be inefficient.
I pulled.
"Collapse."
The grid lines snapped. The fifty meters between us vanished instantly.
One moment, the Parasite King was screaming in the distance. The next, his neck was pressed against the edge of my blade.
He froze. The purple fire of his crown flickered and died. He looked into my eyes—eyes that were currently burning with the power of the Void.
"Anomaly..." he whispered, his voice trembling with genuine terror. "Who... what are you?"
"I told you," I said. "I’m an Extra."
I slashed.
[Skill: Void Cut - Singularity Point]
I didn’t just cut his neck. I cut the coordinate he occupied.
CRACK.
The sound was deafening. It was the sound of reality snapping back into place.
The Parasite King didn’t bleed. He shattered.
A massive fissure appeared in his chest, glowing with blinding white light. It was the stolen mana of the World Spirit, finally finding an exit.
"NOOOOOOO!"
The King exploded.
The force of the blast was contained within the Domain. The purple static, the Abyssal data, the stolen power—it all swirled into a vortex, trapped by the gravity of the Event Horizon.
I watched him disintegrate. I watched the connection between him and the World Tree—the thin, silver thread of the Verdant Pact—snap.
[System Notification: The Verdant Pact has been severed.]
[Quest Objective Complete: Halt the Worldroot Decay.]
The King was reduced to a wisp—a screaming, formless blob of black sludge floating in the center of the grid. He wasn’t dead, but he was severed. He was no longer an Administrator. He was just a virus in quarantine.
[Mana Warning: 0%]
[Domain Collapsing.]
The black sphere flickered. The violet grid lines dissolved.
"Time’s up," I whispered, feeling the exhaustion hit me like a tidal wave.
The Domain shattered.
We were back in the Spirit Realm. The grey mud, the white noise sky, the giant chained Goddess.
I fell to my knees, gasping for air. The Elixir’s crash was brutal. My veins felt like they were filled with broken glass.
Selena was there. She had stabilized, though her arm was still missing. She looked at me, then at the floating blob of black sludge that used to be the Parasite King.
"Target status: Neutralized," Selena reported, though her voice was weak. "Threat level: Minimal."
The blob hissed. It tried to crawl away, moving toward the abyss below the World Spirit’s throne.
"I... I will return..." the blob gurgled. "I am the Void... I cannot die..."
I looked at it. I was too weak to stand. Too weak to swing my dagger.
"I can’t kill a spirit," I muttered, watching it escape. "I severed him, but he’s just going to go back to the Abyss and regenerate."
I needed a way to finish this. Permanently.
I looked at my chest. I felt a familiar warmth in my soul. A presence I hadn’t called upon since the Dragon’s Tomb.
I smiled.
"I can’t eat you," I whispered to the crawling blob. "But I know someone who can." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
I closed my eyes and focused on the mark on my soul.
"Hey, big guy," I mentally called out. "Wake up. It’s lunchtime."
