The Extra's Advent: My Villainess Fiancée is a Yandere-Chapter 15: Engagement Ceremony
It has been two days since Cael and Elowyn sparred.
Tomorrow is the date of their official engagement.
Although they were already unofficially engaged, Elowyn’s father wanted to make it public and formal so he would no longer receive pressure from other parties.
Although David can simply refuse, it’s just that... annoying.
During the past two days, Cael and Elowyn had spent time together and talked more.
On Cael’s side, it could hardly be called progress.
But he no longer felt awkward while speaking with her and... that was all.
As for Elowyn... nothing had changed.
Although she had a vulnerable side, she never showed it.
Well. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
There were two times she did.
Cael recalled the first time.
She had suddenly hugged him and called him,
"You dummy."
The second time was when he asked if she was truly fine being with someone like him.
She linked her arm with his, rested her head on his shoulder, and said,
"You handsome dummy."
Cael blinked.
’Wait... was that considered progress?’
’I wonder what she might call me next time?’
’Maybe- wait! What the hell am I thinking?’
He shook his head and pushed those thoughts away.
It was midday.
Yet Cael was rolling on his bed.
After transmigrating into this world, he had never seriously trained his wind element or his sword mastery.
He had been lazy.
If he were honest, he had no real motivation or discipline.
That was one of the reasons he considered sending a clone to the academy while he stayed behind and lazed around.
But he knew that was a problem.
If he did nothing...
Then nothing would change.
The protagonist would save the world anyway.
As long as he remained in the protagonist’s good graces, he would survive the story.
That kind of thinking was dangerous.
’My mentality is the problem.’
’I need to do something about it.’
’I need to find my motivation.’
...
The Day of the Ceremony.
The Royal Auditorium stood tall under the sun.
Luke and Mira stepped out of the car and walked toward the entrance.
Mira glanced at the grand building and asked,
"So... what you’re saying is... in that life, Elowyn and Cael didn’t get engaged?"
Luke shook his head.
"No. They did get engaged. Just not this early. It happened after graduation."
Mira pondered for a moment.
"Maybe it’s because of the Skyspire incident."
Luke nodded slowly.
"Yes... maybe."
Mira linked her arm around his and said,
"Anyway, don’t overthink it. It’s a happy occasion."
Luke smiled faintly. He leaned down and kissed her forehead.
Mira froze.
"Wh-what? What do you think you’re doing?"
Luke looked at her calmly.
"I just kissed my fiancée. Do you have a problem with that?"
Mira’s cheeks flushed red.
"That fiancée in question is me, you know."
Luke nodded.
"Yes. That’s why I kissed you."
Her face grew even redder as she turned her head away.
At that moment, David Strix and Cael approached the entrance from behind them.
Unaware of their presence, Luke leaned closer and said in a teasing tone,
"Don’t be shy. I’ve already seen and eaten every bit of you. What’s a little kiss?"
Mira’s eyes widened.
Of course, what Luke said had happened in his past life, and with her ability to discern truth from falsehood, Mira immediately knew he wasn’t lying.
Mira’s face turned completely red like a tomato.
Before she could respond,
"Cough! Cough!"
David cleared his throat deliberately.
Both Luke and Mira stiffened.
David said calmly.
"Ahem, although you two are engaged, you are still too young to do such things."
Luke’s face turned red as well.
He wanted to explain it’s all a misunderstanding, but he quickly realized he was the one who created the misunderstanding.
He glanced at Mira, silently asking for help.
But she had already turned and run away inside the auditorium, leaving the three men behind.
Cael looked at Luke.
"Wel... well... I didn’t know you had this side, Luke."
Without waiting for a reply, Cael walked ahead.
Luke tried to follow.
But a firm hand landed on his shoulder. It was David.
Then came a quiet but painfully detailed lecture about sexual boundaries, reputation, and why certain topics should never be spoken carelessly in public.
Luke lowered his flustered face in shame.
...
The inner ceremonial hall of the Royal Auditorium had been reserved exclusively for the engagement.
No more than twenty people were present, all carefully selected. High-ranking guild representatives and trusted allies from both sides stood quietly as witnesses.
Cael stood at the front beside David Strix.
When the doors opened, Elowyn entered.
She wore an elegant, deep crimson ceremonial dress. Her long black hair rested over her shoulders, her expression calm as always.
For a moment, Cael just stared at her without blinking.
She walked forward and stopped beside him.
A velvet box was brought forward.
David stepped ahead.
His presence alone was enough to quiet the room completely.
He looked at Cael first, then at Elowyn.
"In the presence of these witnesses,"
David began, his voice steady and clear,
"We formalize the engagement between Caelir Vayne and my daughter, Elowyn Strix."
"This union is not just a commitment between our houses, but a bond between two individuals. It represents trust, responsibility, and shared future."
"From this day onward, their relationship will be recognized, acknowledged, and respected."
He gestured toward the velvet box.
"The rings."
Cael took one ring.
He held Elowyn’s hand and slid it onto her finger.
It fit perfectly.
Elowyn then took the second ring and placed it onto Cael’s finger with equal composure.
David gave a small nod.
The engagement is complete.
Then light applause filled the hall.
A few congratulatory smiles appeared among the guests. Some exchanged approving glances. Others stepped forward to offer formal blessings.
Smiles and joy filled the atmosphere.
Cael glanced at Elowyn.
Her expression remained calm, but... a little softer now.
For a brief second, her fingers tightened around his hand before she released it.
Cael leaned slightly and said,
"Well... Lady Elowyn, please take good care of me in the future. I will be in your care."
Elowyn returned a small smile and said,
"Very well, Mr. Caelir Vayne. I will make sure you have no reason to regret entrusting yourself to me."
’Since you have placed yourself in my care... no one else will touch what is mine.’
