The Extra's Advent: My Villainess Fiancée is a Yandere-Chapter 5: Regressor
While Cael was busy pondering how to cancel his engagement, a little distance away within the academy grounds, three teenagers were quietly discussing their plans.
Though in truth, only the boy was doing most of the talking.
He had silver hair and crimson eyes, his facial structure eerily similar to Caelir’s. If not for those crimson eyes, one might have mistaken him for Caelir at a glance.
He was Lucian Vayne, the half-brother of Caelir Vayne.
Seated across from him was his fiancée, Mirena Virella.
Her light blue hair fell like a quiet tide around her shoulders, framing a face still caught between childhood and something sharper. Golden eyes gleamed with curiosity and attentive interest.
Beside Mirena sat a black-haired girl, reclining lazily in her chair, blue eyes drifting elsewhere with open disinterest.
She was Cael’s fiancée, Elowyn Strix.
If the original Cael had seen the four of them together, he might have laughed and said,
"What, you guys are leaving me out?"
Two brothers and their fiancées.
Lucian, Caelir, Elowyn, and Mirena had known one another for a long time. They were already well aware of each other’s personalities.
Elowyn turned her gaze back to Lucian and asked calmly,
"So, tell me, Luke. What’s the urgent matter you wanted to talk about?"
Mirena nodded along, her brows knitting slightly.
"Yeah. You’ve been sweating for a while now. Did something happen?"
She tilted her head.
"Don’t tell me you messed up the exam?"
Luke hurriedly shook his head.
"No... no. I did great in the exam."
He took a deep breath, steadying himself as he faced the two girls. Then, slowly, he spoke.
"Listen... this might sound a little crazy. But you have to trust me. Okay?"
Mirena blinked, her round eyes widening.
"Now you’re worrying me."
Even Elowyn’s previously dull expression sharpened with interest.
After holding it in for an entire month, Luke finally spoke the words he had rehearsed countless times.
"I regressed from the future."
"I’m a regressor."
The word lingered between them, heavier than it sounded.
Elowyn froze, bewilderment flashing across her face. Mirena, on the other hand, stared at him with her mouth slightly open in shock.
Unlike Elowyn, Mirena possessed a special ability, one that allowed her to discern truth from lies.
And right now, Luke was telling the truth.
Elowyn turned to look at Mirena. She already knew about her ability.
Catching her gaze, Mirena nodded slowly.
"He’s telling the truth."
At that, Luke let out a helpless smile.
Mirena’s ability was one of the reasons he had dared to tell them.
Turning back to Elowyn, he said,
"I know you wouldn’t trust my words without proof. That’s why... your future self told me to give you this."
He reached into his bag and took out a simple-looking book, handing it to her.
Elowyn accepted it and asked,
"What is this?"
Luke shook his head.
"I don’t know. I didn’t try to open it."
Without another word, Elowyn placed the book into her space pouch and nodded.
Before they could continue their conversation, an announcement echoed throughout the academy building.
...
"All students ranked within the top thirty of the practical exam, please proceed to the training grounds."
"I repeat. All top thirty students in the practical exam are to report to the training grounds immediately."
...
"We should go. Let’s continue this after the exam," Luke said as he stood up.
Elowyn and Mirena nodded, rising with him as the trio headed toward the training grounds.
’Is regression... really possible?’
The question lingered in Elowyn’s mind as they walked.
She opened her status.

’How strong does one have to be... to travel back to the past?’
Elowyn pushed the thought aside.
If answers existed, they were likely hidden inside the book Luke had given her.
Her gaze shifted to the pair walking ahead.
Both Lucian and Mirena were SSS-class holders.
After a moment of hesitation, Elowyn finally voiced the question that had been bothering her for months.
"Hey, Luke... did you contact Cael?"
Her tone was casual, but her eyes were sharp.
"I haven’t been able to reach him for the last three months."
Luke stopped walking.
After a brief pause, he spoke in a low voice.
"...It wasn’t made public, but... Father kicked Cael and his mother out."
Elowyn’s steps faltered. Luke continued,
"I tried to contact him too, but... he never responded."
Both Elowyn and Mirena froze.
Even Luke’s confession about regression hadn’t shocked them this deeply.
.....
Meanwhile.
Cael, who came back to his estate, walked straight into his mother’s room.
He knocked on the door and said,
"Mom, it’s me. Can I come inside? I have something to say."
Cael waited for a few seconds before he heard a voice from inside.
"Come in."
He slowly opened the door and stepped inside.
Cael’s gaze fell on the woman who lay on the bed before him; she was trying to sit on the bed.
But Cael stopped her.
"Cough... Cough... So, why does my son, who didn’t greet me for the past few months, suddenly come?"
Her tone was filled with teasing and worry.
But before Cael said anything, she changed her question, not wanting to put Cael in an awkward position.
"How did the entrance exam go?"
Cael gave her a reassuring smile and said,
"It was easy. I might even rank among the top 100."
Hearing Cael’s words, his mother, Martha, smiled and shook her head, thinking Cael was joking.
"Now tell me, what is it you wanted to say?"
Cael looked straight into his mother’s eyes and said in a straight tone.
"I want to cancel my engagement."
Martha’s eyes widened, not expecting those words.
Cael continued saying,
"Even though we have Vayne as initials. We are no longer part of the Vayne household. My engagement with Elowyn happened for political ties. Since we were kicked out, the engagement lost its purpose. Also, it will be awkward if I encounter Elowyn now."
Martha carefully listened his son’s reasoning. Cupping his face in her hands, she said in a low voice,
"Alright, rest easy. I will contact Elowyn’s father. But answer my questions first: do you have any feelings for Elowyn?"
Cael quickly said, "Not really."
But inwardly, he cursed.
’Love the person who kills me in the future? Hell no.’
Martha asked her second question,
"Does Elowyn have feelings for you?"
Cael thought for a moment and answered,
"Might be."
Then Martha gave a mischievous smile and asked,
"Did Elowyn get engaged with you or the Vayne household?"
Hearing the direction of questioning going, Cael had an ominous feeling, but he still answered,
"To me."
Martha nodded her head and asked,
"Then what’s the problem? Go for her. She is a nice girl."
Cael immediately denied saying,
"Mom, you are missing the point. We are engaged for political ties, but now we lost our status; engagement no longer works."
Martha shook her head and said,
"Cael... my little Cael. You are so bad at this. First of all, this engagement has nothing to do with your houses; Elowyn’s mother and I are best friends. It was we who decided on this engagement. Next time you want to argue with me, at least do some digging, even my maids know this."
Cael’s eyes widened and processed his mother’s words. Letting out a breath, he said,
"Urgh, fine."
Martha stared straight into Cael’s eyes and said,
"Cael... I don’t know how long I live, and I don’t want to leave you alone in this world. Elowyn is a nice girl, and she likes you as you are; she doesn’t care about your powers or rank. If she did, Elowyn would have cancelled her engagement long ago. She even calls me every day and enquires about you."
"Listen, Cael, put aside your pride and see the world, the world not resolve around powers and ranks. Life was a lot more than you think."
"Now go... Cough... Cough... Don’t come back to me until you had clear talk with Elowyn."
-CLICK
The doors shut behind Cael as he stood there blinking.
Cael took his mobile and opened Elowyn’s contact.
Although Elowyn did kill him in the future, he can just change it without any issues.
Not to mention, he was also thinking of getting a girlfriend. But the problem is... Her cold personality. I don’t know, I don’t care attitude.
"Nice girl, she says. Sigh. I trust you mom."
Then he sent her the message.
CAELIR: Hello Elowyn, it’s been a while. I was wondering if you are free tomorrow.
"Now what... I just want to cancel my engagement, but how did I end up asking her out?"
