The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 352: Coma
Before Ethan arrived at the infant care unit, the soft beeping of monitors filled the air as Cyprian, Raymond, Mignon, Enoch, and Ruthlyn stood around the incubators. Inside, the tiny baby girls slept peacefully, their small chests rising and falling with every delicate breath.
The group stared at them with a mix of joy and quiet sadness, marveling at how much they looked like their mother.
"They look so much like Kera," Cyprian whispered, his voice catching slightly, but a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Raymond nodded, slinking his hand over her shoulder as she added, "It’s like they’re tiny copies of her... you can see her in everything. The nose, the eyes... Look at that, those small nostrils."
Enoch, standing beside Ruthlyn, leaned in closer to get a better look and grinned. "It’s almost like my brother didn’t contribute at all to making these babies."
Everyone chuckled gently, the laughter soft but warm, easing the tension that hung in the air. He wrapped his arm around Ruthlyn and leaned down to whisper playfully into her ear, "What do you think? Should we steal one of these babies and elope? We can start afresh somewhere new."
The latter gasped dramatically, nudging him in the ribs, but the joke sent another ripple of laughter through the group. Even the nurses nearby smiled at the lighthearted moment.
Totally unbothered by what the adults were saying, Esther stepped forward, peeking eagerly at the incubators. Her big, curious eyes reflected the glass as she turned back to face Mignon.
"Mommy, are these my new sisters?" she asked, her voice tinged with slight disbelief.
Mignon, who had been standing quietly, her emotions caught between joy and heartache, knelt down beside her daughter. She smiled through eyes that were welling up with tears, tears of both happiness and sadness. "Yes, sweetie," she said softly, nodding. "These are your new sisters."
As Esther gazed in wonder at the newborns, Mignon wiped a tear from her cheek. Her heart swelled with pride and love for the babies, but there was also an ache that lingered. These weren’t just Shikera Anderson’s babies; they were Kera Cooper’s, too.
They weren’t just her sister-in-law and brother’s babies, they were also her sister’s babies. She was an aunt in two ways.
The whispers and chuckles died down all of a sudden as they felt an oppressive air fill the room.
"Y’all were really shouting in the presence of the babies?" Ethan’s voice, sounding different for some reason, echoed from behind them.

Two days later, was sitting in Shikera’s hospital room, the sterile scent of the place clinging to him like a second skin. He was at her bedside, gently cleaning her nails with a damp cloth, even though they weren’t in any way dirty.
He would do anything to keep himself sane.
His hands moved with slow, deliberate care, and his face was set in quiet determination. He barely registered the passage of time, every second felt the same as the last: an endless wait for his wife and the mother of his daughters to open her eyes, to wake up and look at him the way she always did.
He didn’t hear the door open behind him, but he knew when Jordan and Krystal entered. He could sense their presence, the way their footsteps fell softly as if not to disturb the silence too much. Ethan didn’t stop what he was doing, but he turned slightly, his eyes catching theirs.
"Any updates? How are the girls?" He asked. Though he just left the infant care unit minutes ago and had left Raine and Liam behind to watch the girls even when they already had a special designated medical team to do that, he still could not help but ask. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"They are doing well," Krystal replied. "Healthy. And they should be out in a few days when their doctor gives the go ahead."
Ethan nodded, and a hint of smile crept upon his face.
"I hope so. So what brought you two here? Surely, you aren’t here to join me in giving her a proper manicure."
"Definitely not," Jordan forced a laugh. "It’s just..."
"Get to the point. Who among you is speaking?"
A taut silence stretched in the atmosphere, like a curse waiting for someone to break it. Jordan was the first to speak, his tone careful and measured. "Well, Vincent, we’ve reviewed everything," he began, exchanging a glance with Krystal before continuing. "I know you must also be worried about Eleanor since she hasn’t woken up in over 48 hours. Well, we checked and discovered that she’s slipped into a coma."
They waited for a reaction, expecting shock or disbelief. But Ethan didn’t give them that. He didn’t flinch, didn’t show any outward sign of surprise. Instead, he continued cleaning her nails, his hands steady as ever. His voice, when he finally spoke, was calm, almost unnervingly so.
"She’ll come back to me," he said simply, as if it were a certainty, a fact he had already decided.
Jordan shifted, clearly uncertain how to respond, but Ethan had already looked away from them. He rose from his chair, his movements smooth and purposeful, and walked to the window. His back to the doctors, he took out his phone and dialed quickly, pressing it to his ear.
"Raymond," he said, his voice as calm as it had been with the doctors. "I need you to prepare my things for a temporary stay at the hospital. Will be staying in her room; no need to prepare an extra."
There was a pause on the other end of the line, but Ethan didn’t wait for a reply before continuing. "I’ll also be needing you here for a while. Just pack what you think is necessary. I’ll explain more when you arrive."
With that, he hung up, still staring out of the window, his reflection faint in the glass. The world outside moved on, unaffected by what was happening in that room, but Ethan remained motionless, the weight of his conviction keeping him rooted. Shikera would come back to him. He knew it, even if the rest of the world doubted.
