The Favored Heiress-Chapter 770: Why Does the Smoke Taste Different?
Chapter 770: Chapter 770: Why Does the Smoke Taste Different?
At 3 p.m., Su Moshi arranged for the workers to deliver all the new equipment to the inspection room.
After everything was set up, he strolled out and looked up to see Li Qiao and Xia Siyu walking side by side from the other direction.
Su Moshi shook his head with a smile in his eyes, "Your man really knows how to create surprises."
He had specifically looked at the instruction manuals for those pieces of equipment, which were all newly developed internationally.
Apart from Shang Shaoyan, it was unlikely that anyone else could arrange for new models of equipment to be donated to the Medical Alliance in such a short time, at no cost.
Li Qiao had just been in Reid’s office and wasn’t aware of what had happened.
After asking a few questions, she rubbed her forehead and chuckled lightly, "If it’s a surprise, then let’s accept it."
Xia Siyu looked solemnly towards the front at the medical examination room, worry hidden in her eyes, "Has Brother Lih’s examination results come out?"
Su Moshi’s expression became serious, "The blood routine will be out soon, and the hair analysis may take a little longer."
"Why do you need a hair analysis?" Xia Siyu’s heart tightened, having a very bad premonition.
A normal physical examination wouldn’t require hair analysis.
Su Moshi, with his hands in his white coat pockets, turned his head to look out the window, "Wait until the results come out... then we’ll know."
His suspicions and guesses probably hit the mark.
Xia Siyu was dazed for two seconds, her heart uneasy, and all her concealed worries burst forth in that moment.
She forced herself to calm down and managed a forced smile, muttering to herself as if trying to reassure herself, "There definitely won’t be any major problems."
Li Qiao remained silent all the while, her eyes looking down at the ground, concealing the chill in her eyes.
...
Half an hour later, Yun Lih finished his examination and lazily sauntered out of the inspection room’s western-style house.
His shirt sleeves were rolled up to his upper arms, and he held a cotton swab against the venipuncture site on his left arm with his right hand, a carefree smile on his face, "Su Lao Si, you need to take seven vials of blood for a physical examination?"
Su Moshi responded with a slight smile on his lips, walking naturally alongside him, "You’re constantly on the edge of death and probably don’t have time for physical exams, so it’s just right that the Medical Alliance got a batch of new equipment to give you a comprehensive check-up for free. Why not enjoy it?"
Yun Lih casually tossed the cotton swab into a medical waste bin and smoothed his sleeve with his rough fingers, licking his back teeth teasingly, "Lao Si, do you take me for a three-year-old kid?"
Su Moshi looked back at him with no change of expression, teasing with a smile, "Are you saying you don’t trust in your own health?"
As the head of the Mercenary Group, Yun Lih was always observant and had a keen mind.
He stared unwaveringly at Su Moshi, attempting to discern any clues on his face.
For a few brief seconds, time seemed to stretch indefinitely.
Su Moshi met Yun Lih’s scrutiny with serene composure, and before he could conclude anything, the sound of footsteps came over.
Both men looked towards the sound, and saw Shang Yu and Li Qiao walking hand in hand.
Yun Lih restrained his aura and pulled a cigarette out of his pocket, tearing open the package to light one. Taking a deep drag, he savored it and smacked his lips, "Why does this cigarette taste different?"
Su Moshi glanced at the brand of cigarette in his hand and subtly exchanged looks with Li Qiao and her husband, "Where did you buy it?"
"From a convenience store in your little town." Yun Lih frowned, holding the cigarette and examining the packaging, "Lao Si, shouldn’t you take care of this? Selling fake cigarettes is illegal."
In an instant, Li Qiao and Shang Yu were already close at hand. She glanced at Yun Lih, "Finished the check-up?"
Yun Lih hummed a response, removed the cigarette from his mouth, and raised an eyebrow in return, "What are you doing here?"
Li Qiao answered calmly that they came for a physical examination, and her response dispelled Yun Lih’s doubts.
He put his hand on his waist and jested with a leg shake, "You’re carefree your whole life, lazy till old age, a check-up for you is superfluous."
