The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard-Chapter 1489: Keep the Wildness, But Don’t Let It Run Wild
Chapter 1489: Chapter 1489: Keep the Wildness, But Don’t Let It Run Wild
Carson Flores’s heart trembled.
Selah Ellison Fairy’s words were calm, her tone merely a statement, but Carson suddenly felt an overwhelming empathy for her.
No one close to her by her side?
Even someone like him, who was a mere passer-by, could be considered a "close one"?
How lonely must she be in her everyday life?
Carson wanted to say something, but the sound of cracking behind him grew louder and more frequent.
The Golden-Winged Great Roc was about to hatch!
Carson composed himself, turned around, fixed his eyes on the cracked shell, and solemnly said, "Carson Flores won’t let the Fairy down!"
Outside the incubation chamber, Selah Ellison Fairy pressed her lips together, her originally cold expression gradually softened, and ultimately, an uncontrollable hint of a smile appeared.
A faint, gentle smile.
Inside the incubation chamber, Carson said no more after his words.
True to his promise, he would not disappoint her. He had to live up to the meaning of "a close one."
"Crack!"
The enormous eggshell shattered entirely, and a scruffy, fledgling Golden-Winged Great Roc crawled out. It looked somewhat comical, yet already exuded a ferocious and untamed aura.
The baby bird lay on the ground, seemingly too weak even to stand. It strained its neck and struggled to open its eyelids, revealing small, dark eyes that gazed upon this unfamiliar world.
Carson stood right in front of it, staring directly at the bird. He even extended his hand to gently stroke it.
The baby bird’s eyes reflected Carson’s figure. It let out two low cries, rubbed its head against Carson’s hand twice as a gesture of affection, and then lowered its head to peck at the eggshell.
Carson remembered Selah Ellison Fairy telling him that the first thing a Golden-Winged Great Roc does after hatching is eating its eggshell, as it contains immense energy to nourish the fledgling.
Carson gathered all the pieces of the eggshell together and placed them in front of the baby bird. Clearly famished, it continuously pecked at the shell, quickly consuming the entire enormous eggshell.
In just a short moment, the baby bird already seemed much more spirited, its body visibly sturdier, and it could stand without wobbling.
It extended its neck to rub against Carson’s hand a few more times before lying down again and quickly falling into slumber.
Carson breathed a sigh of relief and turned to leave the incubation chamber.
"It’s eaten the eggshell and fallen asleep."
Selah Ellison Fairy remained calm, responding with a light "Mm": "It needs time to digest. When it wakes up, it’ll start eating continuously. During this period, stay with it, feed it, and cultivate a bond."
"The Golden-Winged Great Roc is highly intelligent. On a regular basis, communicate with it more, and soon it’ll understand human words."
Carson studied Selah Ellison Fairy’s profile. "Got it."
"Stay here for half a month, then we’ll set out."
"Where to?"
"To meet the Pill King. You’ll be learning the Alchemy Dao from him."
Carson raised an eyebrow. "And what about you, Fairy?"
Selah Ellison Fairy smiled faintly. "I’ll roam the lands, searching for medicinal herbs and preparing to refine the Nine Revolutions Great Land Pill."
Carson contemplated. "I’ll help you."
Selah Ellison Fairy gently shook her head. "Focus on learning alchemy. In the future, if the opportunity arises, you may help me then, and I’ll accept, but you don’t need to go out of your way now. Your current strength still falls short. For now, you should devote yourself to the study of alchemy, crafting elixirs to enhance your abilities..."
Carson knew his own limitations well. His strength in the Immortal Domains was not yet sufficient. If conflict arose or he ventured into perilous areas, he would be at great risk.
"Alright!"
Over the next half month, Carson lived alongside the Golden-Winged Great Roc, feeding it with the fresh blood and meat of the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat he had stored earlier. He even gave it a rather common name.
"Goldie."
The Flame Dragon Ghost Bat possessed the Flame Dragon bloodline, making its flesh and blood a perfect supplement for the Golden-Winged Great Roc.
With ample blood and meat provided, Goldie grew rapidly. In just half a month’s time, it had transformed into a majestic and imposing creature, standing seven to eight meters tall. Its golden feathers gleamed like molten gold, and when it spread its wings, they stretched over twenty meters wide. Its razor-sharp talons resembled forged steel, capable of effortlessly snapping swords without the slightest damage.
From the moment Goldie hatched, Carson had always been by its side—feeding it, helping it grow. Naturally, Goldie had come to see Carson as its parent and the person closest to it.
"Alright, let’s go!"
Selah Ellison Fairy had waited half a month. Once Carson had fully tamed Goldie, she finally led him on their journey.
Though Goldie had not yet matured, its innate abilities were already beginning to awaken.
Soaring high into the air, Goldie’s body emitted radiant golden light from its feathers. The surface of its feathers seemed to ripple with countless currents. With a gentle flap of its wings, its figure transformed into an arc of golden light, reaching the horizon in the blink of an eye.
Its speed was astonishing!
"Barely half a month old, and it’s already this fast. I can only imagine how extraordinary its speed will be once it’s fully grown!"
Selah Ellison Fairy answered calmly, "As we travel, don’t go too fast. Use the opportunity to hone its hunting skills, ensuring it obeys your commands. Its wild nature must be maintained, but it shouldn’t be left unchecked."
"Understood!"
Just as they spoke, Goldie let out a sharp cry, its body darting like a golden arrow toward a certain spot in the canyon below.
In the blink of an eye, Goldie ascended again, clutching in its talons a black Giant Python several meters long.
