The First King of Beasts-Chapter 51 Ten Bulls And One Tiger III
The question of whether Dustin would have to pull out his blade was quickly answered as after a few minutes had passed, the entire cattle herd could be seen lying motionless on the ground with Dustin standing over one with blood covering some parts of his body.
"Seriously, how do I keep getting blood all over my body?"
.
.
While standing behind the cattle he just amputated, Dustin put back his twin blades and brought out his great axe immediately. With the hopes that it would be a better weapon against the cattle, which it should, he charged forward and began attacking the cattle.
The problem was that even though he had plenty of speed surpassing the bulky bulls, with the heavy axe in hand he couldn't move as fast, and that seemed to be the only advantage he had in this fight against the muscled brutes.
'If I keep this up, it won't work.' Dustin thought to himself after attacking another bull, this time aiming at its neck to see if chopping it off would be possible.
Unlike the first attack where he was a bit shallow with the strike, this time Dustin squeezed in his strength and pushed for the neck to be completely chopped off. Just like he pictured it, the bull's head was successfully chopped off this time despite the muscles that covered its neck bone. He could feel just how much effort it took for him to cut it off, as it wasn't just any clean cut, he had to actually press down hard after digging the axe into its flesh to achieve a complete cut.

'It takes almost all I have to cut through. Their defence is nothing to scoff at, at all. What rank are these things anyway?' Dustin asked the system.
..'These Beast Cattles are E rank beasts with low attack but have incredibly high defences.'
"I see. They do say a good defence is the best offence, and the other way round is also true."
While this was going on, the beast cattles around had already began moving haphazardly, and even for their sizes, Dustin could not think what their next move was. They should possess a skill, at least one. He was eager to see what it was. If he was right, then it would be something that would compliment their lack of speed and fast reaction.
Just like Dustin had thought, he was right. The moment he relaxed his muscles, the first cattle charged at him, and with speed that he knew they didn't have, it came at him. Seeing it coming, Dustin could still see he was superior in speed to them as he still could follow their movements, but with the axe in hand, he wouldn't be able to move fast enough to evade the incoming cattle, so all he could was try and parry its charge.
'Too bad I don't have a red cloth, but this axe that has been stained red would do fine.' Dustin said in his mind with a little serious expression on his face.
Even though he intended to parry the attack, the phrase that said a good defence was a good attack seemed to not be completely accurate, as the force the bull used made Dustin wonder if the system got the details about which one was high and which was low, the attack or defence.
'A good defence is definitely a great offence!'
The impact from the bull sent Dustin flying right into a tree, and through it. As though that wasn't enough, the tree fell on his body. Luckily though, he was fast enough to evade the falling tree. Seeing how destructive the bulls were, Dustin had completely realized exactly why they were called beast cattles.
"They truly are beastly alright." Dustin said as he brought himself to his feet. ƒr𝙚𝙚𝘸e𝚋𝐧૦ѵ𝒆𝒍.𝒄𝒐m
It was clear that the axe was the only weapon he had that could do the job, that is if he left out his long blade which didn't want to use as it would make the entire point of training alongside levelling up pointless. The problem was that it was too difficult to wield the axe while keeping his speed against cattle on steroids that had a sprint skill on top. There is only one way, "And I think I'm the only one that would be able to use this technique." Dustin said.
Dustin waited for the next bull to charge at him, then when it did, he immediately retrieved his axe which was in his hand back into the system's inventory, releasing the burden and lightening himself once more, ultimately returning his original speed. Doing this, he was able to avoid the bulls charge towards him by moving some steps to the side, and just as it was passing by his side, he put everything into his kick and landed a strong one right into its stomach, lifting it significantly above ground.
Following his kick, he leaped with the bull that was now mid air, reaching it's level, Dustin pulled out the axe he had place back into the system into his hands and swung it at the bull's neck using every bit of momentum he could gather.
In order to maximize the strike, Dustin made sure to swing the axe from all the way behind, completing an arc in the process. When both of them landed, Dustin's axe was dripping with blood, and the bull was headless.

This time, Dustin wasn't going to let the bulls take the initiative of attacking first, so he charged at them the moment the axe he was holding in his hand disappeared back into the inventory an vanished just before the beasts.
The attack pattern was quite simple. Dustin would get close to the targeted bull, and appear anywhere close to its neck, then he would take out the axe from his inventory and strike the neck with it, then put it back in and attack the next bull closest.
He continued with this method until there was only one bull left, and even though the last one wasn't the boss, Dustin took it as the boss or rather, the final monster to be killed. If he went with normal knowledge, the last monster is always the strongest, as it is the boss, and though he knew very well it wasn't, he didn't care. This was sort of a role play in a way.

'No point in living a life where we have to kill to survive being all serious and shit right?' He said in his mind, though his face and expression didn't radiate what his mind was thinking. Not that it mattered.
Dustin, after having a little stare down with the cattle charged at it, and the moment he did, the cattle didn't even try to run or charge back at him, it just stood there and watched itself being slaughtered. Dustin wasn't going to one shot a boss, so firstly he cleared off its front legs, and when it fell face first to the ground, he then proceeded to cut its head, but unlike the rest, he didn't cut the neck off or aim at the neck, he stuck the axe in the middle of its head, and left it there.

"Who knew it would be this tasking?" Dustin said.
This was the first time he had to do plenty work to kill beasts while not levelling up to replenish his fatigue, but still, he felt like a little rest would bring him back to his full capacity, he wasn't that tired to begin with.
Now that he was resting, he had time to analyze the fight he just was in, and something interesting he didn't notice initially came to him.
While he was fighting against the beasts, there was something weird that began to happen towards the end of the fight. The beasts didn't put up much of a fight any longer even though they did before, and that made killing them incredibly easy as all he needed to do was appear beside them and swing down his axe. Especially the last cattle, it didn't even try to do anything at all and just waited for its death, or it seemed like it just gave up on life.
'If I'm not mistaken, that must be the effect of bloodlust. That thing's pretty strong though.' Dustin said in his mind.
He still didn't know how to control it well, but even more, he had no idea when or not it was being active. Maybe while he's in the forest this time, he's try something with it and try to understand it more, but that was for later anyway.
Dustin stayed there for a while before advancing, and when he was leaving he just directly placed his weapon back into the inventory without picking it up, straight from the beast's cracked head.
Dustin kept moving about for some time trying to find another herd of these beast cattle, and though he couldn't find any for a while after searching the entire area, he finally did. This time, there was even a bonus. A tiger was before them, before a herd of beast cattle.
