The game has become a real alternate world-Chapter 780 - 462: Start the War
"They’re riding horses, so many horses!"
"Shut up, fool, cavalry! It’s called cavalry!"
The frontier watchtower town faces the northeastern edge.
This was once a gathering place for residents nestled within some forested mountains.
The outer perimeter vigilance rats have already discovered the United Army’s cavalry units and swiftly relayed orders through layers of communication channels.
In the past, by the time orders were relayed, they were often distorted or turned into nonsense.
But today is different from before.
The rats responsible for the layered communication are a special group that was supplemented to the frontline in the past two weeks.
All these rats have pale eyes, with conspicuous and crudely stitched seams visible on top of their heads.
They function like machines, narrating the information from afar, even the unique overlapping accents of rats have vanished.
The instructions are clear and precise.
Even the bravest rats would detour to avoid these compatriots.
Within the rats, these compatriots are called "White Eyes."
A more discreet term would be "Idiots."
"Big bats! Go and investigate quickly!"
One rat officer shouted while waving a military flag.
Not far behind, several gigantic bats took off from the rat assembly area.
These bats are as large as humans, that’s just the body size, with their wings spread, they’re even more threatening than regular humans.
On the bats’ backs ride smaller rats, clearly inferior in size.
These rats would be deemed inferior in past rat factions, unable to grow before becoming prey for other young rats.
Now this batch, born not long ago, was specifically selected as inferior.
Their fur is sparse.
More horrifying are the eyes nearly bulging from their sockets, seemingly engraved with concealed demon patterns.
Even more terrifying, these young rats bear rat heads on their backs.
These heads are from those rats called "White Eyes," their brain exposed, without crude stitching.
The former evil of rats seems replaced by unsettling madness in the current rat army.
Watching these bat-riding freaks in the sky, the normal rats below flinch and huddle together in fear.
Even the rat officer wished not to glance more.
"So terrifying, so terrifying!" A rat was terrified by its own group, shrinking in a small pit, trembling.
A giant rat’s paw grabbed it amidst its screams, tossing it into its mouth, chewing it.
This rat is enormous, surpassing normal humans, from a human perspective, qualified to be a small giant.
In rat eyes, they’re undoubtedly giant beasts.
These rats’ fur is almost entirely stripped, muscles and texture exposed, showing coarse markings.
The fur resembles tough leather, forming their protective gear, not to mention the iron patches on important areas.
They seem utterly insane.
Carrying various large, shabby weapons, these gigantic rats are unmistakably the work of Blood God’s followers.
Among all evil gods, their creations are distinguishable, the blood-crazed frenzy, hateful appearance unforgettable.
As several giant bats flew to scout.
Several Night Watchers hid in concealed grass.
With the map, they formed small squads hiding within rat scouting lines.
"Here comes the disgusting bat-riding rats; they actually exist. Uh... saying this seems like praising them."
An Elf drew his bow, remarking at the bat rats in the sky.
"Stop the nonsense." His Captain said, releasing an arrow: "Send these blasphemous creatures to Hell; I can’t bear to see them any longer."
He too has pointed ears.
As his words fell, his arrow pierced a rat in the sky, shooting it down.
Followed by his teammates’ attacks, the bat squad overhead died in their first action.
"They’re falling! Squeak, squeak!"
A terrified rat exclaimed. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Enemies, enemies!"
The sudden situation sent the rat scouting team into chaos.
Another Elf in the team said: "Seeing these rats, we might frequently encounter them this month or year ahead."
As if speaking to her Captain, with her words she signaled.
Through channels.
On the town’s other side, at a slope by a creek, unsuitable for attacking the town from this direction.
But following the signal.
A wolf cavalry appeared there.
Not many, fewer than ten.
Enough to initiate disorder.
This was merely a frontline watchtower for rats.
"Wolf pups, it’s time for revenge!"
With a roar, over ten wolves dispersed and charged.
With chaos from the attack, rats instinctively began gathering toward the wolves following previous training.
They barely turned, when behind, shouts and slaughter echoed, seeing cavalry previously distant approaching.
Their speed is astonishing, charging at them in an unreasonable pace through this treed area.
Here was meant to be rats’ favorable terrain, not Knights.’
These cavalry ride through sparse forests, traversing with ease.
Speed unparalleled.
Careful observation reveals their horses differ from before.
Armored, still accelerating to maximum potential.
Without control, maneuvering through sparsely wooded forests automatically.
Warhorses aided by Night Watcher Beast Tamers transformed into datafied steeds.
Even the riders haven’t enjoyed this privilege yet.
Datafication of beasts doesn’t demand space from less superior animals.
Thus mounts expanded exponentially during Night Watcher development stagnation that year.
Leading Night Watcher Beast Tamer professions to generally high levels.
The deepest Night Watcher Elf squad, having sent signals, didn’t withdraw; instead, dispersed, progressing toward town’s core.
In town’s center on a rubbish fortification.
Rat officer cursed: "Fools! Are your eyes blind now?"
"Big guy, take them out!"
As the words fell, arrows flew from tricky angles, piercing it.
Like a small rat impaled by toothpicks.
The entire rat momentarily stiffened, standing still before collapsing.
Internal chaos began.
Though the outcome wasn’t as imagined compared to before.
