The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 110: You’re Okay With That?
Chapter 110: You’re Okay With That?
At some point Jeremy also fell asleep wrapped in the comfort of her warmth. When he woke, he checked the time.
’Shit’ he thought, everyone would be back by now and would be sitting down to eat any minute.
Looking over to the beautiful woman lying in bed next to him. Her lips closed but were left in a slight pout. Her face was relaxed, all of her walls had fallen down around her. Leaving her looking peaceful. The anxiety that plagued her aura and mind disappeared. Her breathing was even, the rice and fall of her chest made it hard for him to wake her. He didn’t to disturb her. But he needed her to hear the announcement.
If he would ever have a chance with her, she would need to know there was a chance, that Violet would be mated to Ash, and he would be free of the burden of being King. Everything was falling into place and all he needed was for Rosa to realize it and give them a chance.
But that scared him, what if Rosa rejected him still? Even after what they experienced, what if she still said no? Would his fragile heart be able to handle it? it would crush him entirely.
Even still, he needed to wake her, he knew how badly Rosa wanted to talk to Violet.
Jeremy sighed before rubbing her back and whispering, "Wake up, its dinner time, only a few hours left before the sun graces the sky."
"Mmm five more minutes mom." Rosa wined pulling the blankets some, fighting to turn away from him. freewebnσvel.cøm
Jeremy chuckled and leaned down, "Wake now darling, Violet will be waiting for you at dinner."
That seemed to work because Rosa shot up like a tulip in spring. "Come again?"
Her honey brown eyes sweetened up my night with her.
"Dinner, Violet, let’s go. You need a bath and probably some clothes."
"I’ve got clothes. The ones I’m wearing are perfectly fine.
I don’t think so, love, let’s try some that maybe... aren’t stained of mud and dog blood." Jeremy chuckled.
Rosa flinched when Jeremy called those dead kid’s dogs. Because it wasn’t just wolves that were casualties of this attack, but also children were. Young innocent children, and no matter what species of child, a dead child was always a sad thing.
"Did I say something wrong?" Jeremy asked looking confused.
Rosa hadn’t noticed she froze when he spoke.
"Not just the blood of dogs, Jeremy, but also the blood of children." Rosa snapped a fierce glare at Jeremy. "It wasn’t just the people at fault that died, but children. Your order to kill them all, killed children, Jeremy. Have so fucking respect."
Jeremy eyes shot wide open with surprise. What happened from the sweet moment they were having only a few moments ago?
"Their alpha should have known the price for taking our maiden, our princess, and our future queen. The rumors of our bloodlust and Ashers vicious thirst for vengeance. They should have been prepared for retaliation, not throw a fucking party and claim our queen as their luna. Could you imagine the abomination that would result of that? Are you seriously defending them?" Jeremy snapped back, standing firm on his stance.
"I didn’t say anything about the perps, only the children, didn’t I?" She snarled "Those little boys and girls outside the gala had no idea what was happening. Yet they were slaughtered in cold bold as retaliation against the deeds of their alpha. For all they know is they were killed for nothing. How are you just okay with that?" Rosa really couldn’t believe how okay he was with killing innocent people.
"There are always casualties of war, and many innocents also die, its why war should be avoided, to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. But in the event people forget the cost of war, they need a reminder." Jeremy was indifferent and cold.
"I can’t believe you’re justifying what you’ve all done." Rosa felt this ache in her chest, like something she didn’t even know existed until it broke.
"Whatever Rosa. Side with them, the people responsible for my mother’s death." Jeremy walked out the door with that leaving Rosa alone with nothing but her own thoughts.
She slumped on to the floor, what was she going to do? Her heart was being tugged in all directions, and what they shared earlier, certainly didn’t help things.
’Violet would know what to do...’ Rosa thought.
Getting off the floor walking to the mirror, she was gross, crusted dark red clung to her skin, black soot smeared her face, she had dirt under her fingernails. She did need a shower. It’s was a good thing Jeremy was gone, she didn’t want to see him right now, not with her mind so clouded. A battle was raging inside Rosa as she struggled to deal with her feelings for Jeremy and with everything that happened last night. Even with all the shampoo in the world Rosa was afraid she wouldn’t be able to get the blood smell out of her thick curly hair.
After several washes she still couldn’t get rid of the smell, so she gave up and left the bathroom, when she came out, she found plain clean clothes just her size sitting on the bed. But no one else in the room.
Jeremy must have given it her. Sighing, she puts on her clothes. Her time in the shower brought her no closer to a conclusion than before she entered it. Still feeling just as conflicted and confused.
When she left his room, she glanced over at Violet’s door. She was going to have so much to tell Violet and so much to confess. Like how she might be in love with one of her best friend’s suiters. How horrible of a friend she is. Rosa felt like ripping out her own hair, that was until she entered the dining room and saw her best friend seated at the table just across from her. She felt whatever cloud hanging over her head had lifted.
Violet was glowing, she looked so safe and happy, her heart fluttered seeing how she conversed with the table. Rosa looked around table and felt that what she saw was a totally different scene than what they were all used too.
Violet really did bring this family together. She saved them. Rosa looked at how whole the family looked, how safe they must feel, even with a man eating, fire breathing dragon sat at the head of the table. The scene before her looked like a TV dinner scene on a hallmark channel movie.
What moved Rosa most was how Ash was acting and moving. Something was off about him. She’d never seen that man actually smile, and here he was, bright eyed and bushy tailed like a child on Christmas. Rosa was almost scared, what horrific thing could have been done to make that cold man smile like that? Rosa saw one chair available, next to Jeremy. She frowned, despite Violet’s presence lifting her spirits; seeing Jeremy and being reminded of their earlier conversation only pissed her off again.
’Rosa, sit quickly, I have an announcement,’ Violet pushed the though into Rosa’s mind.
Rosa nodded and disgruntledly took her seat next to Jeremy.
Violet stood looking at everyone around her. The table was the fullest she’s ever seen. With Olive, Gabriel, Jeremy, Rosa and Lilith on one side and Ash, Viktor, Viktoria, Uncle Hyde and Vlad on her other side, there wasn’t an open seat at their table. For a moment she though about how there wasn’t space for Riley in their family anymore. How he would never be a threat to her again.
"Hello, everyone, thank you for joining me in a family dinner tonight. Seeing all my loved ones surrounding me here, I couldn’t be happier." Violet paused and bent down, bowing to the table "Thank you for coming to my rescue, thank you for accepting me in your home and hearts, and thank you for letting me love you all."
She stood up and started again, "I have something to tell you all, now a few here already know, because they were there when it was realized. But..." She paused her face getting pink with excitement "I’m pregnant!" She shouted excitedly.
